Caius's POV
I watched as the Blood Moon turned black, feeling the ancient magic in my veins react. Something was very wrong. The packs were burning. Ronan was losing control of the Midnight Queen's darkness. And Kieran had just given up his alpha power.
This was my time. My time.
"We need to get out of here," I said, moving toward the door where Darius's mate stood shaking. "My castle is protected against dark magic."
Sienna looked at me with those ruby eyes that had fascinated me from the start. "Ronan can't be moved. The darkness is fighting to get out."
I knew she was right. If the Midnight Queen fled Ronan's body, we'd all be doomed. But I had a secret that might help—a secret I'd kept hidden even from the Vampire High Court.
"I can help him," I said. "But you need to trust me."
Kieran, now just a regular wolf, narrowed his eyes. "Why would we trust you, vampire? You've wanted Sienna for yourself since day one."
