Chapter 217 - Chapter 217: Is War a Child’s Play?

Seeing Rin's confused little face, Anko couldn't help but grab Rin's hand and start complaining.

"Rin-senpai, Shisui and I are so miserable, there's no one more miserable than us."

At this moment, Obito's hands were full of gifts, so much that he could barely carry them. Helplessly, he could only extravagantly take out a sealing scroll and seal the gifts into it.

Only then did he walk over and say with a smile, "How are you two miserable?"

Shisui looked at Obito and couldn't help but complain, "Obito-senpai, earlier I applied for early graduation and formed a team with Anko. We quickly received deployment orders to support the Kikyo Mountain battlefield."

"As a result, we had just gotten halfway there when the battle was already over. We even ran into Konoha ninjas returning with the message, who told us we could go back."

Anko nodded, angrily said, "So annoying! I originally thought I could perform well on the battlefield, but in the end, before we even arrived, the war was over. So unlucky."

Obito and Rin looked at each other. Regarding Anko and Shisui's experience, they didn't know whether to call it lucky or unfortunate.

Rin gently comforted, "Actually, not going to the battlefield is best. You haven't experienced war, once you do, you'll know, it's absolutely not something beautiful to remember."

Rin recalled the tragic scenes she had seen in the medical tent.

Some were crying, some were in pain, some were confused.

Some had resolute eyes and grabbed her saying, ("Please, treat me quickly, I can still fight!")

Some were on the verge of death, their entire body without a single intact spot, casting her a pleading gaze for release.

("Let me die. Don't waste resources on me anymore.")

Thinking of these things, Rin's gaze dimmed. That kind of thing, she didn't want to go through it a second time.

Seeing this, Obito patted Rin's back to comfort her, "It's okay, it's all over now."

Then he looked at Shisui and Anko, "Although many things can only be understood through personal experience, let me still remind you, war is not a child's play. Don't face it with the mindset of playing a game. You know, those ninjas who really went to the battlefield, in the end, once the war was over, victory or defeat didn't even matter to them anymore. All they wanted was to go home."

Shisui nodded, regaining his calm, "Obito-senpai is right."

Anko then suggested, "Then let's not think about those sad things anymore. I'll treat you all to grilled meat at the Akimichi BBQ place."

Obito suddenly remembered something, a wicked smile appearing on his face, "Anko, I vaguely remember, you once said, if you were taken as a disciple by one of the Sannin, you'd treat us to BBQ every day. Does that still count?"

Anko immediately looked guilty, glanced left and right, pretending to be confused, "Did I say that? I don't remember. Haha, hahahaha."

Rin smiled and said, "Sorry, Anko, we can't eat together today. Later, Obito is going to my house to eat."

Anko froze, then looked at the two, eyes wide in disbelief, "You two, already reached that stage?"

"When's the wedding? I want to drink wedding wine."

Three black lines instantly popped out on Obito's face, "Hey, Anko, what are you thinking in that little head of yours? It's just a simple meal."

After speaking, to get back at Anko's nonsense, Obito continued evilly, "By the way, Anko, did you know you're already out of favor?"

Anko was stunned, "Obito, what do you mean by that?"

Obito chuckled, "Anko, you still don't know, huh? You've got a new junior disciple. Lord Orochimaru likes him a lot and calls him every day to help out. Has Lord Orochimaru ever treated you like that?"

Anko exclaimed, "What? Lord Orochimaru accepted another disciple? And it's a junior brother?"

Not bothering to continue chatting with Obito and Rin, Anko urgently said, "Where's the junior brother? I want to go take a look!"

After speaking, she immediately thought that Lord Orochimaru should be doing experiments in the lab right now, so she said to Obito and Rin, "Then I won't bother you anymore."

She grabbed Shisui's hand and ran off in the direction of Orochimaru's location...

Watching the backs of the two as they left, Obito couldn't help but smile and say, "So lively. Is this what they call youth?"

———

In a small forest in Konoha Village, Kakashi, Yuki, and Might Guy were training, all wearing matching green tight suits.

Suddenly, Might Guy sneezed.

"Weird. My body's so healthy, how did I sneeze?"

Beside him, Sato Yuki saw this, pulled out a handkerchief and handed it to Might Guy, "Wipe your nose."

Might Guy smiled at Yuki, a glint of light flashing from his teeth, took the handkerchief and wiped, "Thanks. Must be a cold going around lately. Looks like my body's still not strong enough. Today I'll add five hundred more push-ups."

Yuki showed an expression of despair. She couldn't help but ask, "Guy, are you really human?"

Recently, after training with Guy and Kakashi, she deeply realized one truth: She had limits, but Kakashi and Guy didn't.

Compared to a genius like Kakashi, Guy was even more of a freak.

She simply couldn't keep up.

So even though her strength had improved a lot recently, among her classmates, she was now the strongest. Even the once-arrogant Miri and others weren't her match now.

She could even fight several people at once.

But hanging around with a bunch of monsters, she didn't feel even a shred of joy. On the contrary, she felt how small she was.

Guy encouraged, "Yuki, you're already amazing. You're the hardest-working girl I've ever seen. There's always a hurdle at the start. The most important thing is perseverance. I believe you'll become stronger bit by bit."

Yuki nodded, clenched her little fist, her eyes determined, "Yeah, I'll become stronger little by little."

Suddenly, she thought of Obito. Obito had already participated in the Kikyo Mountain battle and won. The squad he was in was now being called the Hero Squad.

Although Obito's fame was the least noticeable in the Hero Squad, Yuki, who knew Obito's special nature, didn't think that at all.

The gap between her and Obito had widened again. At this rate, her chances of defeating Obito would only get smaller and smaller.

'So frustrating!'

Yuki also wanted to go to the battlefield to hone herself. She couldn't help but turn to Kakashi, "Kakashi, do you know if there are any opportunities to participate in battle recently?"

Because she came from a civilian class, her leading ninja was just an ordinary chunin. The information and resources Yuki could access were very limited, even going to war was something she had to wait for higher-ups to arrange.

Kakashi looked at Yuki and couldn't help but think, 'Do Konoha ninjas really think war is a game before actually experiencing it?'

But seeing Yuki's eager eyes, Kakashi couldn't help but recall when his father died, he had the same mindset, desperate to prove himself.

For a moment, he couldn't say anything to dissuade or criticize, and could only sigh, "Right now Konoha is at war, how could there not be opportunities to participate?"

"I have internal recommendation rights. Just give me the application form and I can submit it. But you're still too weak. I don't recommend it."

Yuki's eyes lit up, "Kakashi, please, help me register!"

Kakashi turned to Might Guy, "Guy, you're not going to say something?"

Guy seriously shook his head, "Youth must be chosen by oneself."

Kakashi could only say, "Fine then. Which battlefield do you want to go to? Konoha vs. Cloud, or Konoha vs. Stone?"

Yuki's expression changed, a look of hatred appearing. She said coldly, "Konoha vs. Stone!"
