~{INGRID'S POV}~
*
When he was done braiding my hair, he wrapped his arms around me and lightly rested his head on the top of my head.
"I know you pity me," he drawled.
"I do," I agreed.
"I'm sure you're aware my brother turned out to be her mate," he reminded me and I slowly nodded.
Why was the world so unfair?
At this point I was beginning to see mates as curses rather than blessings. Why couldn't we just be given the opportunity to be with whoever we wanted?
And speaking of mates, I was yet to find one and since I was the lowest of werewolves, I didn't bother about it because I knew I wouldn't have one. Which is why I agreed to Lanzon's proposal.
"My Lord?"
"Call me Lanzon," he corrected and I blinked but didn't say it immediately until after a while.
"Lanzon."
"Hmm," he hummed in satisfaction while still holding me from behind.
"Are you a free dragon?"
"Yes," he answered.
