"I have to go, dad." Lisa said to him.
"Amore mio, hold on. I know you're troubled and I could help. What is it?" Pedro demanded over the phone.
"Father, I need to go. I'm fine. Really. I'll call you later." Lisa responded and before he could say another word, she hung up.
"Lisa? Monalisa?" He called her over and over again and then, he simply hung up. "Ghaaaa!!!"
He was already losing it at this point. He had been listening to the conversation between Paulo and his daughter but there was nothing of any importance to him. Instead, Pedro had reasons to believe that she probably was still in love with the man. What was her problem and why could she not be different?
He had been hoping that someday, she would take over his empire but from all indicators, she was going astray.
He would have let her be with Paulo if only she could have guaranteed that she would remain by his side. Dreaming that was like chasing after the wind. There was nothing in the air but weakness and sadness.
