Location: A Trainging Grounds...

The metal door sealed shut behind the last pair of students, a faint clang echoing through the spacious observation room.

The large screens above flickered to life, showing multiple camera angles of the training building.

Somewhere beyond that steel and concrete maze of corridors, two pairs of classmates were now faced off in a high-stakes mock battle.

Izuku Midoriya and Tsuyu Asui—the Hero Team.

Katsuki Bakugo and Tenya Iida—the Villain Team.

A buzz of anticipation filled the room as students leaned forward.

Even All Might, towering near the console, seemed unusually animated, kidding his expectations and excitement.

Saturo on the other hand, remained cool, relaxed—leaning into the back of the chair, arms folded behind his head.

"Saturo, who do you think will win?" Uraraka asked.

Kirishima let out a small laugh, "I hate to say this, but Bakugo must have this in the bag."

"Let's not forget Midoriyas quirk. His super strength may just overpower Bakugo!" Mina exclaimed.

"Hmm... Let's see if Midoriyas brain can keep up with Bakugo's temper," Saturo said, giving his two cents on the matter.

Inside the Building

The Hero Team entered quietly.

Tsuyu moved like liquid shadow up the stairwell while Midoriya scanned their surroundings, whispering numbers under his breath.

"Bakugo's going to rush. He'll try to take me out fast," Midoriya murmured, brushing his hand over a support beam. "He won't wait. He can't."

"Ribbit. So we split him from Iida?"

"Exactly. He'll ignore the bomb and come for me. You move ahead and get into the vents. Flank him if you can, but i suggest keeping Iida, at least till i get there."

She blinked slowly. "And you?"

Midoriya's lips curled into a calm, steady grin.

"I'll be the bait."

Observation Room

Bakugo's dot blinked on the monitor moving rapidly up the west wing.

"Here he comes," Aizawa said aloud, drawing the attention of several classmates, all moving closer to the screen with All Might and himself.

"He's cutting corners. Not checking his blind spots. It's all instinct, no scan." All Might States.

Kirishima blinked. "But isn't that how Bakugo always fights?"

Aizawa made a mental note of that.

'Great... it'll take some effort to make him not be like that."

Meanwhile, Momo, Iida and Uraraka stood together, with Saturo in the seat behind them.

"So, he likes running in head first. A interesting tactic." Momo commented as she analysed the way Bakugo blasted down the halls.

Gojo shrugged. "Sure. It can works. Until it doesn't."

Bakugo rounded a corner in the corridor blasting open a doorway with a thunderous explosion.

BOOM

Dust filled the air.

The camera panned Midoriya dove out of the smoke, barely dodging the blast.

"Huh," Gojo muttered. "At least his reflexes are good, could of been a bad hit."

"I agree, although what is their plan, wouldn't it be best to take him, Midoriya with Tsuyu together. Between their quirks, it's a plausible outcome they defeat him."

Momo spoke, gaining some "ah"s from the rest of the classmates, impressed with her breakdown.

Leaving her feeling pride and soaking it up.

On the screen, Bakugo didn't speak.

Explosions roared from his palms, each detonation launching him forward.

Midoriya dodged with quick footwork, angling every retreat to a new hallway.

"Hm... What you day us true but... Didn't you notice the pattern?" Gojo's voice rang out again.

Everyone turned.

"Huh, what pattern?" Sato asked.

A lot of the genuinely curious about what he was on about.

Gojo sighed before pointing again at the screen.

"He's steering him. Every move Midoriya makes pulls Bakugo further from the bomb and closer to a blind zone."

On screen, Tsuyu disappeared into the overhead vents. Gojo pointed lazily at the feed.

"Now she's ghosting. Full control of upper floors. A sniper with a tongue."

Jirou squinted. "You make it sound like He planned this from the start."

Gojo smiled. "That's the funny part about Greenie. He with how much he mumbles, wouldn't be surprised."

In the building.

Midoriya finally stopped near a long corridor of broken pillars and half-smashed walls. He took a deep breath and crouched.

Bakugo landed hard, teeth bared. "What's the plan, Deku? Gonna cry again?"

Midoriya didn't reply.

Instead, he races to Bakugo, and in the same breath, he launched forward, past his right.

"Predictable," Gojo muttered. "Bakugo lunges left to counter. Now-..."

Midoriya skidded, pivoted and grabbed Bakugo's left gauntlet mid-punch.

BOOM

The hallway exploded in light and dust.

Back at the observation room, Aizawa took the mic from All Might.

"Katsuki Bakugo. If you are planning to intentionally harm Midoriya, your team will automatically lose."

He said in a calm cold voice through the mic.

Everyone else started to get worried, thinking how the tensions between the two of then will lead to this encounters conclusion

Bakugo, on the screen ignores this and continues on pursuing

Dust billowed from the corridor as everyone leaned into the screen

"Did he get hit!?" Sero asked.

"No," Gojo said calmly. "He held on."

And just as predicted by Saturo, as the dust settled, Midoriya's silhouette stood, arms smoking, one hand gripping Bakugo's gauntlet tight.

"That punch wasn't an attack. It was a hold."

Bakugo snarled, trying to pull free.

Through the speakers in the building rang out Aizaeas vice threatening to fail Bakugos team.

Iida panicked, not knowing what was happening.

Explosions roared from Bakugos palms as he launched himself forward towards Midoriya.

He dodged with tight footwork, angling each retreat through the narrow hallways, weaving past debris and half-collapsed walls.

While in the observation room, Aizawa was yelling into the speaker, All Might stood there visibly concerned and lost.

The rest cheering on Midoriya to run, while some pressing All Might to go stop this.

Gojo tilted his head, watching.

'They have already lost, letting the sniper get away, it's a lose already.'

Uraraka was with Momo and the rest pressing on then to stop the match.

Om the screen, Bakugo slammed into the wall ahead of Midoriya, kicking off it with a twist and throwing an overhead strike.

Midoriya ducked low, bracing his forearm to absorb the shockwave of the blast, skidding backward across the cracked floor.

The moment his boots stopped, he surged forward.

Their fists collided, blast against raw muscle, sparks flared, and Midoriya was thrown back.

Midoriya panted, one arm burning from the recoil.

Bakugo sneered, smoke curling off his gauntlets.

"You're still weak!" he shouted, cocking back his right arm.

"You think you can beat me with that trash quirk?"

Midoriya stood slowly. "No. I know I can't… not like this. But I don't need to beat you…"

Everybody focusing the screen trying to make sense of what was being said, unaware of the conversation happening on screen.

Bakugo's eye twitched. "What the hell does that mean?"

"It means…" Midoriya whispered, and then dashed in.

Bakugo let him come. This was it the moment.

He raised his gauntlet and grinned like a predator.

"DIE!!"

He pulled the trigger.

BOOM.

A massive explosion burst point-blank from his gauntlet blinding white and orange flame devouring the corridor.

The ground cracked.

Walls trembled. Smoke surged like a living thing.

The observation room went silent.

"Did… did he just-..." Kaminari choked out.

People had their eyes covered, unable to watch any further.

Aizawa had ran out to go confront Bakugo to end the match.

All Might stood there, wanting to help but unable too.

On the screen they saw Midoriya. Hero costume ruined, his left arm he used to take most of the damage was purple, and fell limp to his side.

Meanwhile...

"Bakugo...thank you..." He coughed out.

"What the Hell?" Bakugo looked annoyed.

Midoriyas right arm starts glowing, red lines flowing under his skin as he activated One for All.

"You did exactly what I wanted... I could of had Tsyui come help me... but I feel like we needed to settle this."

Bakugo took a step back before Midoriya grabbed his gauntlet with his battered arm.

He pulled his right arm ready to launch a punch.

Bakugoa showed visible fear as Midoriyas arm rocketed towards him.

"DETROIT…"

Everybody was on the edge of their seats as they watched the screen.

Midoriya's fist aimed at Bakugo, red and green sparks flying before he adjusted his punch.

"...SMASH!"

The wind split open the haze.

A shockwave punched outward like a cannonball dispersing dust, flames, and Bakugo.

The blast launched him back, tumbling through two walls before he finally skidded to a stop, coughing in disbelief.

Everyone in the observation room gasped.

Midoriya emerged slowly through the broken corridor, arm hanging at his side, completely broken and trembling from recoil.

His green aura flickered and sparked faintly. His eyes, sharp and calculating, never left Bakugo.

"Still think I'm weak?" he asked quietly.

Bakugo pushed himself up, blood at the corner of his mouth looking up.

The gaping hole on the multiple floors, and at the top, Iida hanging by Tsyui's tongue, dangling as he yelled at Bakugo.

Bakugo looked back at Midoriya, trying not to shed tears. His body shook, not just from pain, but from rage, shame… and something else.

Something he never though he would give to someone like the boy infront of him.

Respect.

Just then, on the screen, Aizawa broke through the top floor, just in time to catch Midoriyas limp body before shouting at Bakugo.

Before he slung Midoriya over his shoulders and jumped out the window to get him to the clinic.

Everyone in the observation room was silent before All Mights began a low chuckle before breaking into a laugh.

All Might's voice boomed across the speakers:

"HERO TEAM WINS!"

Cheers erupted, people hugged each other in relief, while others say down to relax.

Saturo simply just sat there.

"Well done, bait the beast. Split the lines. Take the win... He's actually a smart guy.'

He stood from his leaning spot, the usual grin playing on his face.

'He's not just strong. He's actually a good strategic mind... not the best, he could of flung himself with frog girl to the top, dodging Bakugo, but hey... it worked'

Gojo stood there, looking at how everyone was celebrating.

All Might stood there, smiling ear to ear.

While upset he put Midoriya in such danger, he was proud of what he did.

'Young Midoriya, you made me proud, perhaps someday... you will become the next symbol.'

"Alright everyone, first we shall assess the damage, treat everyone and then the rounds will start again."

He said to the rest of the class as he dashed out the observation room, some starting to follow behind him while others stayed.

------ Principle Nezu's Office-----

"I understand Madam." Nezus voice came as he ended the call.

He turned to the screen next to his left and saw the entire battle.

"A mini All Might...You have rather large shoes to fill Midoriya..."

He picked up a tablet and dialed a number.

Ringgg.. Ringgg..

The phone rang.

"This should be his uncle's number. Let's see if he's open for a meeting."

'I wonder if he still has bad bedside manners...'
