Chapter 149 - chapter 148

Hou let out a chuckle and squeezed his glabella while shaking his head. He raised his eyebrows and looked at Mo Huai,

"And you said you they would just be outer members, seems like you want another direct disciple?"

Mo Huai laughed loudly, "I guess, I did say that. I underestimated the person you chose, I definitely didn't think he was this unique."

"It's fine, Hamar what do you think? You can trust him, this is the real start of the Hou Sect rising; although as a subsidiary of another sect,"

Hamar smiled and shook his head while still lying down. Then he closed his eyes and took a deep inhale,

"Of course I will. Didn't I say from the start, I'll do my best for you and everything you want to protect. Let's do this,"

He raised his fist up and Hou placed his fist parallel. This was something Araxis had passed onto him, an action passed from Araxis' world and their soldiers.

It can be a greeting, a sign of equality and a sealing of a deal. It served a similar purpose to a handshake, but was generally less formal, perfect for Hou and Hamar's relationship.

They were friends but also master and student towards each other. They both helped each other, they were true equals in status and not far off power-wise.

Hou had many fortuitous encounters and skill in varying fields but Hamar had unparalleled talent unseen in one single field, that of swordsmanship.

Although he looked like an old man, and was with his age, die to aura he was nimble. He threw his legs in the air and jumped up, standing up and bowing towards Mo Haui,

"Master! Please accept me!" To an outsider this would look extremely odd on either end. For those in the Sealed Solar Tomb, Hamar was the peak of strength and a wise old man.

To see a strong old man bow to another elder would be preposterous. And on the other side, those from the Nine Clouds Sovereign Sect would see someone acting over the top yet not enough with an Elder.

Yet in the sky above the former Hou Sect, this situation occurred with nothing bad happening on either side.

Mo Huai spoke while holding out his hand,

"I accept you, and in that I give you this" Mo Huai opened his hand and showed a small black pill.

Covering the surface, words spirals growing bigger and shrinking. Hou could identify it as an information pill. He was going to object, Hamar was not a cultivator and he might not be able to process it.

But then Hou stopped himself before he moved,

'No, it's fine. Hamar might not be a cultivator but he is a swordsman. I shouldn't underestimate him, he will be able to handle it. And I should also trust Mo Haui to know if he can handle it despite knowing little of 'swordsmanship'.'

Mo Huai continued,

"Take this pill and try to absorb it. Don't try to attack with aura, perhaps a more 'liquid' if that's a thing. Cutting it will only destroy it, I trust you can find what you need to do."

Hamar nodded and took the pill and threw it into his mouth. He swallowed it then held out his two fingers. He resembled Hou when he used pressure points, his finger started to glow with aura.

Then the aura shimmered and became less solid and more like a vague sensation. Then he started slicing into his stomach. Instead of cutting him though, it appeared to pass right through.

Hamar's veins pulsed blue as the pill's knowledge flooded him, and he used his aura to infuse it into his essence, foreign concepts searing into his mind like brands. After a few minutes he opened his eyes and dropped his position,

"Done, I understand. Cultivators, this being the Sealed Solar Tomb, laws, Nine Clouds Sovereign Sect. Thank you,"

Hamar bowed slightly, less than before though. Now that he was his disciple, he needed to pay respects but could afford less rigidity.

Then Hou sensed something and he felt something in his quasi-Nascent Soul. He neck shivered and he looked down instinctively to what he felt.

He furrowed his brows then jumped down, bringing in his wings closer to speed up. He fell through the sky and then near the ground he opened his wings back up.

He started to glide and then landed on one of the mountains which surrounded the Hou Sect. He grabbed onto the side of the cliff, using sword laws to imitate aura and stab his fingers into the cliff.

This was a similar method to what he did in his inheritance, where he carved a boulder with Flowing Divine Script. This time though, he had seen and sensed aura and he gained some benefits.

His understanding increase and he slightly modified the technique, now costing less willpower and he could activate and deactivate it faster. This meant he could activate it to stab into the cliff but deactivate it faster enough to not slip.

He held onto he cliff and grabbed a small flower. It was a deep shade of green and surrounding it was a spinning aura of green light. He plucked it and held it in his hands, the healing aura being slowly passively absorbed into his quasi-Nascent Soul due to the resonance of the laws.

"Millennium-aged Healing Daisy...how is this here?"

Suddenly behind him he heard Mo Haui speak,

"I can answer that."

Hou almost let go and fell down but he composed himself and turned around, flapping his wings to safely stand on Mo Huai's miasma platform.

Mo Huai continued, "to answer why this is here. I need to quickly explain something about the Sealed Solar Tomb. It used to be a separate world, and be subject to the old world, before Yao Tian, rules. This meant there were spirits. And I took all those that were in inheritances and the sun cultivators who made the tomb. All those, except what you took. But that was only because they were already absorbed by the sun cultivators, I just needed to steal them. However, in Sealed Solar Tomb there was also many other spirits all around. They replaced laws to a certain extent. More like laws were sentient blobs, called spirits."

Hou nodded, understanding it, Mo Huai continued as he saw no confusion,

"But when I took my miasma I also partially 'unsealed' the tomb and now it is subject to the new world's rules. Just like what happened when Yao Tian did it, this meant all the spirits dissipated and formed different laws which could interact more with the physical world. This then caused things like this to happen, spiritual plants infused with laws which could not happen to this extent before,"

The daisy's glow wasn't just light, it was condensed healing laws, a remnant of the spirit that once was; just as Hou had suspected when the quasi-Nascent Soul started to resonate.
