Gu Yikun helped her dry her hair, not letting her avoid him any longer. He carried her to the bed and asked, "What exactly did my mother say to you today? Why can't we let others know we're married?"
He cared a lot about this question, immensely so.
An Junxi said, "Actually, your mother is quite nice. Don't think poorly of her. She just told me to learn more skills in the future, so I won't embarrass you. That's all."
Gu Yikun squinted, not believing her: "Are you telling the truth?"
An Junxi nodded sincerely, "Really."
"Then why the hidden marriage?"
"I'm not ready yet," An Junxi looked at him pitifully, "Yikun, I'm not ready to face so many people. Could you give me some time?"
Gu Yikun said, "What do you need to get ready? You don't need to do anything, I'll handle everything."
It wouldn't be true to say An Junxi wasn't moved, but she persisted, "Give me a bit more time!"
