[POV - Sainan - Morning]
[Main Street - Path to school]
CLIP-CLOP! CLIP-CLOP!
My footsteps echoed on the asphalt wet from the morning drizzle as I walked peacefully to school. It was one of those gray and lazy days, where even the sun seemed to have given up on appearing. Typical Monday.
"Another ordinary day in the life of Yuuki Rito," I thought, adjusting the backpack strap on my shoulder.
But something was wrong. The air had a strange density, as if charged with electricity before a storm. The birds had stopped singing. Even the distant traffic noise seemed muffled.
WHOOOOSH!
Suddenly, the world around me distorted like a broken mirror. The colors faded, the buildings curved at impossible angles, and before I could blink...
BLINK!
I was somewhere else entirely. An empty, misty space where gravity seemed more like a suggestion than a law. Purple clouds floated in all directions, and the "ground" beneath my feet seemed made of liquid glass.
"Dimension Lost," I murmured, instantly recognizing the Sacred Gear. "Georg, I imagine."
A smile spread across my lips. Finally, something interesting happening.
FWIP! FWIP!
Six figures materialized around me, arranged in a circle like predators surrounding prey. Cao Cao in front of me, spear pointed directly at my chest. Siegfried to my right, Gram glowing with a sinister light. Georg behind me, his grimoire open and floating. Jeanne to the left, smiling like a child about to break her favorite toy. Heracles positioned like a mountain of muscles, fists clenched. And Connla... Connla simply watched, quiet as death.
"Yuuki Rito," Cao Cao's voice cut through the silence like a blade. "Finally we meet."
I slowly turned, observing each of them with genuine interest.
"The famous Hero Faction," I replied calmly. "And here I was thinking you had more important things to do than chase a high school student."
TICK!
A vein pulsed in Cao Cao's forehead.
"Don't pretend innocence. We know who you are. What you are. The protector of that assassin."
"Assassin?" I raised an eyebrow. "You're talking about Asia? The kindest girl who ever existed?"
"Kind?!" Jeanne laughed, a sound like breaking glass. "She disintegrated Diodora Astaroth!"
"Ah, that trash," I shrugged casually. "Frankly, she did the universe a favor."
CRACK!
The air around Cao Cao trembled with his contained rage.
"So you confirm it. You admit your complicity in the murder of a high-class devil."
"Complicity?" I laughed, a genuinely amused sound. "Dude, you have no idea what you're talking about."
That's when I decided to stop playing around. It was time to show them what they were up against.
WHOOSH!
Three pairs of golden wings sprouted from my back, radiating a light that made everyone step back. But I didn't stop there. Three more pairs manifested, totaling six pairs of angelic wings that extended majestically around me.
"Impossible," Georg whispered, his grimoire trembling in his hands. "Six pairs of wings... that's..."
"Seraph," I completed for him, my voice echoing with divine authority. "Or rather, something far above that."
[Sainan City - Simultaneously]
CRASH!
Rias dropped her coffee cup when she felt Rito's presence suddenly disappear.
"Rito!" she screamed, running to where he had been seconds before. Only empty air greeted her.
"Ara ara~," Akeno appeared beside her in a graceful leap, but her expression was far from carefree. "Seems someone kidnapped our dear neighbor."
THUMP!
Haruna stumbled over her own feet when she saw the six golden wings that had briefly appeared where Rito had been. Her wide eyes of shock reflected a mixture of admiration and terror.
"W-what was that?" she stammered. "Rito-kun has... wings?"
Lala, who had initially been scared, was now jumping with excitement like a child who had just received the best Christmas present.
"INCREDIBLE! Rito has a serious mode! I always knew he was special, but this is FANTASTIC!"
Across the street, Mikan watched silently. Unlike the others, she didn't seem surprised. In fact, there was a small proud smile on her lips.
"Finally," she murmured. "Time to stop hiding, onii-chan."
Asia, who was arriving late, stopped when she saw the other girls gathered. When she realized Rito wasn't there, her eyes filled with concern.
"Where is Rito-kun?"
"He was taken," Rias replied, fists clenched. "But not for long."
The two exchanged glances. In recent months, Rito had discreetly trained both Asia and Mikan. What the others didn't know was that both now possessed six pairs of angelic wings - a power that Rito had gently granted them.
FWIP! FWIP!
Six pairs of white wings sprouted from Asia's back, followed by six identical pairs on Mikan's back. The light emanating from them was almost blinding.
"We're going to get him," Asia declared, her voice charged with determination that would make any devil tremble.
"We're going to finish whoever dared touch my brother," Mikan completed, her eyes shining with an angelic fury rarely seen.
[Dimension Lost - The Confrontation]
THOOM!
Heracles was the first to attack, his fists flying toward me with enough force to break mountains. I dodged casually, as if I were dancing.
"Brute force? Seriously?"
CLANG!
I blocked Gram with two fingers, the sword that supposedly could cut anything stopping completely against my skin.
"Impossible!" Siegfried growled, applying more force. The sword didn't move even a millimeter.
ZOOM!
Cao Cao's spear came from below, aiming for my heart. I caught it with my free hand, feeling the power of the True Longinus pulsing against my palm.
"Did you really think this would be enough?"
FLASH!
Georg tried to bind me with containment spells, magic circles appearing around me. I simply ignored them, walking through them as if they were illusions.
"My turn," I said calmly.
WHOOSH!
With a movement of my wings, I created a gust of wind that threw them all back. Heracles hit a dimensional wall with a deafening THUD. Siegfried rolled across the "ground," Gram flying from his hands. Georg was thrown against his own magical creations.
"He's not even fighting seriously," Connla murmured, being the first to perceive the truth.
Cao Cao got up, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth, but his eyes still burned with determination.
"No matter how powerful you are! We are heroes! It's our destiny to protect humanity from monsters like you!"
I laughed, a sound that echoed through the dimension like celestial bells.
"Monster? I've been protecting humanity longer than you've existed. And as for being a hero..."
My aura changed, becoming more intense, more divine. The very space around me began to bend and distort.
"You have no idea what it means to be a true hero."
CRACK! CRACK! CRACK!
Dimension Lost began to fragment around us, unable to contain my true power.
"Georg!" Cao Cao shouted. "The dimension is collapsing!"
"I can't control it!" Georg replied, panic evident in his voice. "He's too powerful!"
Jeanne attempted one last desperate attack, summoning sacred flames. I just sighed and extinguished them with a casual wave.
"Pathetic."
BOOM!
The dimension finally completely collapsed, throwing us back to reality. We were in the middle of the school courtyard, all students watching the surreal scene with gaping mouths.
The six "heroes" were scattered across the ground, panting and defeated. I remained standing, my wings slowly retracting.
"Next time," I said calmly, my voice carrying the weight of absolute authority, "think twice before threatening my family."
THUMP! THUMP! THUMP!
Asia and Mikan landed beside me, their own angelic wings still visible.
"Rito-kun, are you okay?" Asia asked, genuine concern in her voice.
"Did these idiots hurt you, onii-chan?" Mikan added, glaring at the defeated heroes with an expression that promised divine retribution.
I smiled gently at them, gently touching their heads.
"I'm fine. Thank you for coming."
Cao Cao, still on the ground, looked at us with a mixture of horror and understanding.
"What... what are you?"
"We," I replied simply, helping Asia and Mikan put away their wings, "are family."
And in that moment, watching the self-proclaimed heroes crawl away in defeat, I knew the message had been sent clearly to anyone who dared threaten those I loved.
From now on, they would know: messing with Yuuki Rito's family was messing with forces beyond their comprehension.
(A/N: Rito showing wings was my desire to give him wings. Although he shouldn't have them. Michael doesn't have golden wings as the new leader of heaven, that's why I gave him the golden wings. Basically showing that he is the BIG G now.)
