Chapter 68 - Chapter 68 Returning To Camp

Team 7, along with Minato, trailed behind Sakumo as they made their way back to Konoha's base camp.

The group's formation was slightly unusual. Saiguu took point, acting as the team's vigilant eyes. Behind her was Minato, followed by Nawaki, then Kadoya, with Sakumo bringing up the rear.

The odd ones out were clearly Nawaki and Kadoya. Nawaki trudged along in nothing but his soaked boxer shorts, his filthy clothes clutched in one arm, completely caked in mud and dirt. Kadoya, on the other hand, carried a loli with alabaster skin perched on his back. She wore a flowing cyan-blue dress, her small legs wrapped around his shoulders and her thighs pressing lightly against his head. Her large horns were impossible to miss, jutting out like a beacon, and her tail swayed playfully behind her.

Kadoya felt a small measure of relief knowing that Tiamama wasn't the Beast II bent on destroying the world. Explaining who she was would be a headache, though. He doubted the cover story of her being a simple summoning beast would hold for long.

Danzo would probably be the first to sniff around. That vulture would definitely try to snatch his mother away if he thought she was worth anything. Kadoya wasn't worried, though, if it came to that, he'd just cry a little, accuse Danzo of bullying him, and watch how Tiamama responded.

If she had the strength to deal with him but chose to stand by and do nothing, then she wouldn't deserve the title of "mother." But if she genuinely wanted to protect him but simply lacked the strength… well, Kadoya wouldn't mind beating up Danzo for bullying his mother.

"Kadoya, where did you really find her?" Nawaki couldn't help asking again. The idea of Tiamat being a mere summon seemed more than a little suspicious.

"Sleeping," Kadoya replied flatly, obviously tired of the endless questions.

Nawaki: "..."

Nawaki scowled. "Don't lie to me! You obviously found that girl somewhere!"

"Indeed. Now guess," Kadoya shot back casually, his hands resting on Tiamat's pale thighs.

Nawaki: "..."

Nawaki could only gape wordlessly.

Ignoring the exchange, Tiamat gently patted Kadoya's head as she sat on his shoulders, her legs swinging lightly while her tail flicked idly behind her.

Saiguu had long since given up on questioning Kadoya. She'd figured out that, to him, Tiamat was simply a mother figure, nothing to worry about.

Minato, ever the master of knowing when to hold his tongue, didn't press the matter. Even as brothers, he understood some secrets weren't meant to be shared. He had his own, after all.

Sakumo, seasoned and pragmatic, knew well that every shinobi carried their own hidden truths. Kadoya clearly didn't want to elaborate, and that was fine. Silently, he continued to drag the unconscious Roshi behind him, saying nothing more.

After some time, the group finally made their way back to Konoha's main camp.

Sakumo and Kadoya stepped forward to report to Tsunade, Orochimaru, and Jiraiya.

"WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?!" Tsunade's hand slammed down on the map in front of her, scattering nearby documents in all directions.

"Kadoya, when I told you to guide Team 7, I expected you to lead them near the border of Amegakure!" she shouted, jabbing a finger at the map that looked like it had been scribbled on by a child. "Look at this! What were you thinking, taking them on some kind of scenic tour?!"

Her finger stabbed at a village location marked on the map. "You even passed this village ten times! Were you blind, or did your Sharingan malfunction?!"

She jabbed at another point marked ominously on the map. "And this, this is one of Iwagakure's strongholds! How in the world did you manage to lead Team 7 right into the middle of it?!"

Sakumo gave Kadoya a sidelong glance. "Hmm. I suppose that's where the Iwagakure shinobi started calling you 'The Blade,' wasn't it?" he asked dryly. Kadoya simply gave a small nod of confirmation.

Sakumo was still a bit stunned by how… creative Kadoya's navigation had been.

Orochimaru let out a low chuckle. "If we'd left you in charge for a few more months, you'd probably have guided Team 7 straight into the enemy's main base," he teased.

Tsunade shot him a deadly glare, telling him to keep quiet. She turned back to Kadoya, ready to launch into another tirade, only for Kadoya to suddenly pull out a large wine bottle and slam it down on the table.

Tsunade: "..."

Tsunade paused mid-breath, her eyes drawn to the bottle.

She coughed lightly, then cleared her throat and said in a sudden, calm voice, "Forget it. You returned safely, and that's enough. You can leave now."

Everyone: "..."

The entire tent fell silent.

Orochimaru, Jiraiya, and Sakumo exchanged skeptical glances.

Maybe the real reason Kadoya had become Tsunade's beloved disciple was because he seemed to understand her perfectly and could wrap her around his little finger.

With a quiet, satisfied smirk, Kadoya turned and walked out of the tent. Behind him, Tsunade quickly snatched up the wine bottle, already planning to save it for a quiet evening to herself.

Walking out of the tent, Kadoya walked calmly in the heavy rain, but each droplet that fell on his body evaporated the moment it made contact.

During his time wandering the Land of Rain, many of his skills have improved a lot, and he has also gained a large number of Points.

Many of Kadoya's abilities had already reached Jonin level, with only his chakra reserves pushing into the Kage-level range. Thanks to his [Uzumaki's Strong Vitality], the Chakra Containment Seals inscribed across his body, and the Tailed-Beast Chakra he had acquired, Kadoya's chakra capacity now rivaled that of a Tailed Beast itself.

He had also finally discovered the true effect of the Fairy Plate. It granted him a regenerative ability, something he realized after recalling its origins in the Pokémon XY&Z game, where the Fairy Type is tied to Xerneas, the Life Pokémon. In its dormant form, Xerneas becomes the Tree of Life, capable of restoring vitality itself.

With the Fairy Plate sealed within him, Kadoya's regenerative power could now be compared to about one-third of the First Hokage's legendary healing factor.

Kadoya walked into the tent to find Tiamat busily stirring something in a large pot. Whatever she was cooking looked even more hazardous than Kushina's notorious plum juice. The thick, purple liquid in the pot bubbled ominously, giving off faint wisps of steam.

He didn't know what she was brewing, but he decided it was best to just let her do her thing for now.

Instead, Kadoya lay back and turned his attention inward. He converted his 17,500 Evil Points into 7 System Points, bringing his total to 10. Without hesitation, he initiated a 10x roll.

Congratulations! [New!] Shadow Attribute Unlocked, [New!] Anakin Skywalker Swordmanship, [New!] Fūinjutsu: Battle of Sleeping Spirits, [New!] Fusionist Magistery, [New!] Genjutsu: Black Illusion, [New!] Ice Plate, [New!] Block of Obsidian, [New!] Double Jump, [New!] Andura Stone, [New!] Water Style: Death From Below, [New!] Bat Sage Mode

Kadoya smirked as he scanned through his new rewards. Everything this time was fresh.

Shadow Release.

"Isn't this basically a buffed version of the Nara Clan's Shadow Possession?" he murmured to himself. Although he hadn't tested it yet, Kadoya decided he would hold off on fully investing in Shadow Release until he brought his other core attributes up to Jonin level.

Anakin Skywalker's Swordsmanship.

This caught his interest immediately. The sword had always been one of his main weapons. Anakin Skywalker, a prominent figure from Star Wars, was known for his aggressive lightsaber style.

If memory served, Anakin's style emphasized slashing attacks, high guards, and working angles with downward strokes. It involved sweeping movements with quick recoveries to deny opponents any openings. Strength and counterattacks were at its core, turning an opponent's momentum against them.

Kadoya found that this approach harmonized perfectly with the Uchiha's fighting philosophy.

The essence of Uchiha taijutsu was all about momentum: relentless, overwhelming momentum that drew opponents into its rhythm and forced them to dance with you.

Combined with the Sharingan's heightened perception and Kadoya's own reaction speed, he saw the potential to fuse this new kenjutsu with his taijutsu, crafting a unique blend, the Uchiha's own refined style of kenjutsu and taijutsu.

"Alright," he concluded with a small grin, "the Uchiha finally have their own style of kenjutsu."

Battle of Sleeping Spirits.

This was a fūinjutsu that trapped the user and their target within a designated area, massive seals unfurling beneath them. It forcibly pulled the souls from their bodies, making them fight in a battle of pure spirit while their physical forms remained frozen.

It reminded Kadoya of the Waste (Dan Kato)'s Spiritualisation Jutsu, the one that lets the user send their spirit out to attack from a distance. But Battle of Sleeping Spirits was more intimate, forcing both souls into direct, one-on-one combat.

A new idea sparked in his mind. The technique pulled out the user's soul, but Kadoya had Naori's soul residing inside him. He could use this jutsu to pit Naori's soul against his target while he himself stayed firmly anchored in his body, free to act as he pleased.

Fusionist Magistery.

A ninjutsu that perfectly merged Earth, Water, Fire, and Wind chakra to unleash a powerful attack.

Kadoya's smirk quickly turned into a frown. This meant he'd have to train Earth Release up to at least level 7… but he didn't have any Earth Release ninjutsu to practice. He'd have to rely on his Ninja Points to build it up from scratch.

Black Illusion.

A simple genjutsu that cloaked him in a dark mist, making him invisible to most. Stronger shinobi, of course, would still be able to see through it, just like how they could recognize someone using the Transformation Jutsu with a single glance.

The Ice Plate. This one was sealed inside him automatically, no explanation needed.

Kadoya stared at the one-cubic-meter block of pure obsidian in his hands.

"What the hell am I supposed to do with this?" he muttered.

There didn't seem to be anything special about it, just a block of shiny black rock. He tossed it into his inventory for now.

Double Jump. Pretty self-explanatory: it lets him perform a double jump in real life. But considering he could already use Invisible Air Walk to step on air and jump again, he wasn't sure if it was useful or redundant. He'd set it aside for now and see if it came in handy later.

Andura Stone.

He didn't know what this was. Into the inventory it went, he'd figure it out once he unlocked the ability to read object information.

Bat Sage Mode.

Another Sage Mode variation. Kadoya didn't care much about it for the moment. He hadn't even mastered his current Sage Mode yet. No point in splitting his focus while his existing forms still weren't fully mastered.

"Kadoya, dear!" Tiamat called out cheerfully.

Kadoya looked up to see her approaching with a bowl of the concoction she'd just prepared. The purple liquid in the bowl was still bubbling ominously.

"You must be hungry," she said with a warm smile. "Try some of your mother's homemade soup. Your brother seems to have enjoyed it very much."

Kadoya shifted his gaze past her, spotting Minato sprawled on the ground behind her, completely unconscious. His face was an alarming shade of purple.

He wanted to refuse, but seeing the hopeful light in Tiamat's eyes, he reluctantly took the bowl and raised it to his lips.

He took a cautious sip.

Almost immediately, his eyelid twitched as a wave of nausea rolled over him.

"Dear, is something wrong?" Tiamat asked, her brow furrowing in worry as she watched him grip his head.

"I'm… fine," Kadoya managed to croak, even as he felt the cells in his body rapidly breaking down and then rebuilding themselves, stronger and more resilient than before.
