Jean looked away.
Logan took another step. "You were nearly thrown into a fire. Your brother beat you half-conscious. And the first thing you want to do… is silence the only people who care about you?"
Still no answer from her.
He gave a broken laugh, low and bitter. "An NDA, Jean? That's what you trust more than me?"
Her lips parted slightly, and her fingers gripped the blanket tighter.
But her silence was answer enough.
Logan's breath caught in his throat.
"You've never seen me as someone worth relying on," he said, voice barely above a whisper. "Not then. Not now."
She blinked, startled.
"Not even for something like this," he continued. "You'd rather carry it all alone. Rather silence Hannah… my sister… than let me in. Even for a second."
His eyes burned, but he wouldn't let them fall.
The air in the room was thick with unspoken emotions.
Hannah stood by the window, hands tightly clasped, she quickly stepped between him and Jean.
