"Then you'd better apologize better than just that," Caius said as he looked Kaelith up and down.
"Huh?" Kaelith was dumbfounded by his words. His brows arched, and he stood there, searching their expressions for a while before it finally dawned on him.
He said, "I'm actually very sorry about all the time I was away. I had something important to do at home, and I had to rush there, so I couldn't tell you."
Caius moved away from the position where he had been caging Jaden, freeing him as he bent away from his possession and went to stand beside Kaelith.
Caius's eyes followed him, and he stepped forward but stopped as Kaelith moved to block him, positioning himself in front of Jaden and locking eyes with Caius.
Caius sighed and said, "The practice was just as important. And no matter how urgent your situation was, one call could've been enough. You could've at least let me know what was going on, or just that you'd be gone."
