Coming out of the bathroom, I only saw Yami standing in front of the door with a frown.
"Why did you scream, Yami?" – I asked.
"It's a long story..." – Yami said.
Then, she seemed to think for a moment and nodded.
"Take me to your house, we have to talk" – Yami said.
Wow, if I was in my previous life and Yami was my girlfriend... Those words would have scared me a lot.
"Okay" - I nodded.
I didn't know what Yami wanted, but seeing her expression I didn't say anything else and nodded.

At home.
Yami, Me, Peke and Lala were gathered in the living room of my house.
"What's wrong, Yami-chan?" - asked Lala curiously.
"Yes. What's the matter? You've been serious since I left the bathroom" – I nodded.
"Akira, Princess Lala... Haruna and the one you call Yui have been kidnapped" - Yami said.
Silence invaded the room for a few seconds, unable to process the words that came out of Yami's mouth. None of the three of them being able to say a single word for what seemed to be minutes.
"Haruna-chan and Yui-chan? Kidnapped?" – Lala asked in amazement.
In these cases, it is best to stay calm.
"Who was it?" – I asked angrily.
"An assassin. As I could deduce, he followed both of them as they followed you to the boys' bathroom, probably to tell you something, but when they arrived, they were ambushed by him. I tried to do something, but when I arrived, he already had them both as a hostage and I couldn't do anything but watch as he left with both of them..." – Yami said.
She seemed somewhat sad about it.
"Yami, don't be sad. I know that if you could, you would have saved them, so don't even think about getting sad about that" – I said.
"That's right, it's all that assassin's fault and not Yami-chan's!" – Lala nodded.
"Indeed" - Peke nodded.
"Thank you... I could have stopped him, but assassins are unpredictable and I didn't want to risk them getting hurt or something even worse" - Yami said.
It seems that none of the three of them blamed her for not rescuing them and that made her happy in a sense.
"Do assassins usually kidnap innocent people?" - I asked, genuinely curious.
"Generally not," Yami replied, shaking her head. "Most assassins see that as cowardly. There's an unspoken code—they avoid involving people who have nothing to do with their target, not even their relatives - said Yami.

"If that's true, then why did that assassin involve others?" - Lala asked, tilting her head in confusion.
"There are some assassins who don't care about the code" Yami explained calmly. "They'll do whatever it takes to get the job done—even if that means kidnapping or killing people close to their target. Some use that as a tactic to break their target's morale, making them easier to kill" - said Yami.
For a moment, a cold sweat formed on my forehead.
"Does that mean this assassin could've killed Yui and Haruna?" - I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.
"Yes, he could have" Yami said bluntly. "But... in a way, we were lucky this time."
"What do you mean?" - Lala asked, her tone growing more serious.
"The assassin who has kidnapped them is, if I have not misunderstood, Kurt, the silent assassin. He is currently number 20 on the list of assassins" - Yami said.
"Is there even a list of assassins?" – I asked confused.
"Yes and it's made by the same intergalactic police" – Yami nodded.
"Mmm, I think I remember hearing something like that before. Could it have been Zastin's?" – Lala wondered.
"It was the King's, Lala-sama. He once mentioned it while you were present, but you were busy with your inventions and didn't pay too much attention to it, so you only vaguely remember it" - Peke added.
"Okay, I know whatever. Who is that Kurt?" – I asked curiously.
"Kurt isn't exactly an extremely powerful assassin or anything like that, but he earned his spot on the list for a reason, his speed and stealth. His killing style is based on that, his stealth. His style is to follow his targets without them noticing and kill them when they are vulnerable. In doing so, he doesn't make any sound and leaves quickly, which is why he was nicknamed the "Silent Assassin"" - Yami explained.
"I see... But you said it follows its targets. Why didn't he follow me then?" – I asked curiously.
"Because you were with me and Princess Lala. Kurt can be very stealthy, but if he had come within a distance, he would have noticed it right away. He's not exactly smart, but he's not stupid either and he realized that fact, so he decided to go for another approach, something he doesn't usually do" - Yami said.
"Kidnap the people closest to their targets so that they have no choice but to comply with their demands" - I said.
"Indeed. He lures them to a place and then kills him while threatening his relatives" - Yami nodded.
"What should we do then?" – I asked with a frown.
"Akira... he told me to tell you that he awaits for you tonight on the roof of the school" – Yami said.

"Mmm... It's okay, I'll go" – I nodded.
"I'll go too and I can call Zastin to help us!" – Lala said.
"No, I'll go with Akira. Princess Lala, you will stay here" – Yami said.
"Why?! I want to help too!" – Lala exclaimed dissatisfied.
"If we go too many people, that might alarm Kurt and might even lead him to commit something crazy, no, we'd better just go Akira and me" - Yami said.
"But..." - Lala tried to protest.
"Lala-sama, Yami-sama knows what she's doing, please don't argue with her" – Peke said.
"Okay..." – Lala said reluctantly.

While she was telling us the story, it began to get dark and the assassin did not say what time of night he wanted us to go, so it is probably better to go now. Also, the club activities should have ended and all the students should have gone home by now, so it was the perfect time.
After saying that, we both set off towards the school, but when we arrived there was a small "problem", the doors of the school were locked.
"You can use your wings, I'll use my flying alien" – I said as I returned the Omnitrix to its original form.
"No, I'll take you" – Yami denied.
"Why?" – I asked without understanding.
"He doesn't know about your watch yet, so it's best to leave it as the wow factor" - Yami said.
"It makes sense" – I nodded.
In fact, if he sees me transformed into Jetray and then human, Kurt may be more alert than necessary.
"Hold on tight to me" – Yami said.
Yami formed her wings and told me to grab her, so I simply gave her a hug from the front (so as not to get in the way of her wings) and pulled her towards me making her small chest crash against mine.

It escaped me.
"Pervert..." – Yami said.
Normally Yami hated perverted people, but for some reason, contact with Akira made her happy and she didn't feel too bad about him touching her. Why did this happen? Not even she herself knew it, but right now it was not the time to stop and think about it because lives were at stake.
"Hold on tight" – Yami repeated.
And then, she began to fly until it landed on the roof of the school. There was a man or rather an alien. He had a humanoid appearance, but all his skin was purple and his mouth was as big as a clown's, his legs were so thin that they looked like they could be broken with just one kick, while his torso was just as thin. He looked like an extremely anorexic person who could die from a single punch.
On both sides were Yui and Haruna, who seemed to have woken up and were now trembling with fear, but unable to move or speak as they were tightly tied against the railing and gagged, surely confused and terrified by what was happening.
"You've come, both of you" – Kurt said.
"Release them, Kurt" – I said in a serious tone.
"Oh, you know my name. Well, I'm not surprised, Konjiki no Yami must have told you who I am and what I'm capable of" – Kurt smiled.
"I don't have time for your nonsense, let them go now" – I said seriously.
"Akira Sato, Princess Lala's fiancé and future king of the galaxy, I think you already know what I came here for. Am I wrong?" – Kurt said.
"You have come to kill me. What nobleman hired you?" – I asked with a frown.
"I'm sorry, I have a policy not to reveal the identity of my employers" - Kurt said with a smile.
"Good. Then tell me. What do you want me to do?" – I asked.
"It's simple, stay still in place, the two of you, otherwise... I will not be able to guarantee the lives of your two beautiful women" – Kurt said.
Suddenly, Kurt threw two small knives that, as if by magic, were placed in front of the necks of both women and floated there, as if they were living beings waiting for an order.
"That's right, that's how I like it" – Kurt said.
"You are despicable, involving two innocent people to murder someone. You are a disgrace as an assassin!" – Yami exclaimed.
"The same could be said of you, Konjiki no Yami, an assassin who decided to retire and who, in order not to be arrested, decided to become the concubine of the future king of the galaxy. Do you think I'm a shameful assassin? Better look in the mirror" – Kurt said.
"You!" – Yami said furiously.
"Okay!" – I interrupted.
"?" – Kurt.
"I'll stay still in place, but in return I want you, when you kill me, to free Yui and Haruna" – I said.
Then, I looked at Yami and nodded slightly.
"I'm glad you understand and don't worry, your little friends or girlfriends, they will be safe once I kill you, after all, my goal is you and not them" – Kurt smiled.
While all of this was happening, Haruna and Yui were completely stunned and terrified. Suddenly, they had woken up on the rooftop and Akira and Yami were there, the man said things that they didn't know like that Akira was the heir of the king of the galaxy and that Yami was an assassin, he also said that he wanted to kill him. What was happening? Were they having a nightmare? They didn't know it was happening, but whatever it was, they were so scared that their bodies were shaking uncontrollably.
"Before I kill you, let me tell you something" – Kurt said.
"What?" – I asked.
"This is not personal, just work" – Kurt said.
Without him noticing, I put both hands behind my back.
"Goodbye, Akira Sato!" – Kurt exclaimed.
Not paying attention to which alien was selected, I pressed the dial and a green light illuminated the entire place, blinding everyone for a split second, except for Kurt, who had already launched himself at full speed towards Akira, well, if that creature was still Akira, I mean.
In the place where Akira was standing earlier, there was now some kind of mutant beast or something, orange hair running all over his body, long razor-sharp teeth, a kind of gills on both sides of his body, and no eyes. This animal walked on all fours and drooled as if it were a dog.
Everyone was stunned to see this, but especially the girls who couldn't believe what they were seeing, Akira had transformed into a monster!
"What the hell is that?!" – Kurt said in amazement.
"Rawr!" – said the monster.
It looked like a wild beast that couldn't even speak.
"Tch, I don't know what that is, but it looks like a simple beast!" – Kurt said.
That boy seemed to have transformed into some kind of monster, but... What did it matter? It was just a simple beast that couldn't even speak. What harm could it cause him? So he quickly headed towards Akira, again.
Kurt's speed was something that even Yami had a hard time seeing, therefore, Kurt was sure of his success, but what he didn't know was that... Just as he was about to hit him, the beast dodged him as if nothing had happened.
"What just happened?!" – Kurt asked puzzled.
How had a mere human been able to dodge his attack at such high speed?!
