"Light is way too slow, I can easily go faster than it tenfold over tenfold"
Hello. Before we start today's story, I would like to let you know that our secret on the rainbow clan might be manipulated. I don't know the details, but I appreciate your discretion. But why should you be afraid of me? I am only a character in a book. Or am I?
Caesar couldn't breathe. His mouth was dry as sand, and his skin was draped with sweat. The first person to react was Mr. Shawn.
He thrust his bulky hand, and the same multi colored cloud from his dimension appeared and flew towards the figure who had just impaled his student.
As the cloud flew speedily to the figure, it vanished. Moments later, Mr. Shawn coughed out a mouthful of blood. He dropped to a knee and held his ribs, as if it was broken.
"I advise you not to do that," The figure said, with no emotion in his voice. "A lot of people have died trying to go on the offensive."
Caesar was above the figure, with rage in his eyes.
Everyone froze due to fear. The figure was able to defeat a paragon and a teacher, which means the other students will be no hindrance, no struggle, just plain defeat. They had no chance of beating this villain.
But the figure killed a friend closer than a brother, and that was enough to make Caesar go berserk.
"FIRE IMPACT!!!!" Caesar screamed as his hands glowed white hot, the entire temperature of the room increasing drastically.
But as Caesar was seconds away from landing a hit, his hands returned to normal, and the temperature of the room returned to its original state. Caesar coughed up more blood than Mr. Shawn.
Keep in mind, Caesar did this so fast that the other students, except Zeus and Izobel, were not able to notice. So no other students felt the drastic increase in temperature.
The figure sighed, "What did I tell you about going on the offensive?"
Caesar still wasn't hearing it. His blood boiled, his heart beating so loudly it rang in his ear. He was so angry, but he was also patient. He managed to move Chalybe's body out of the way, resting it on a wall. The gaping hole in his chest pierced through a heart on his left side, and the right heart had some arteries and veins missing. Caesar's hand was covered in blood.
"Can you reflect attacks?" Caesar asked with his voice becoming deeper.
The figure's green eyes fixated on Caesar, as if to gauge him.
"Why would I tell you how my abilities work?" The figure said with his hands on his waist. "I am getting tired of this back-and-forth Q&A. I have killed who I want to kill."
The figure glanced back at the other students, still frozen in shock. "But you know, I am thinking if I should let you all live. Sparing you might be a hindrance to me in the future. But anyways..." The figure took a deep breath, his pale skin receiving just a slight glint of color, before returning to its ghastly hue. "I have completed my mission. On second thought, I should finish you all of"
Murmurs spread across the room.
"Who sent you?" Zeus screamed at the figure.
The figure's eyes drifted to Zeus, his braids looking unkempt, but his face unexpectedly calm.
"I serve my lord. The one that will bring redemption to this world." The figure spread his hands, with the sleeves plastered with black feathers. The black feathers left his sleeves and turned into silver beak ravens. Izobel quickly recalled the unusual ravens that were cawing at the academy's entrance. Fenrir mentioned that it was unlikely there were lots of them in the daytime. Did the figure cause it?
The crows charged at the students, their bloodshot eyes filled with the desire to hunt and devour.
Zeus, filled with rage, impressively kept his neutral face and stayed calm. He knew crying would not bring Chalybe back. He raised his hands to the sky, and the ravens were immediately splattered to the ground, as the pressure increased tenfold.
More ravens kept coming, and the figure rushed at Mr. Shawn, who was slowly recovering from his wounds. His mouth was stained with blood, and his hands rested on the teacher's table to lift himself, slowly but surely.
"No!!!" Izobel screamed. She pointed her fingers at the figure, and her eyes glowed intently, but she was hesitant. If Caesar's hypotheses were right, the figure could reflect incoming attacks to the opponent that sent it. But Izobel had more questions. Was there a restricted range? Could it affect multiple people? Could her attack kill her?
With no other choice, she conjured a large pink rellabug avatar. It possessed 6 mighty pairs of wings that flap rapidly, 4 thin legs, a horn protruding from its forehead, and an abdomen with microscopic needles.
The avatar, as large as a man, swooped in and carried Mr. Shawn. If Izobel couldn't attack the figure, she could have as well saved Mr. Shawn. But suddenly, the peculiar happened. The avatar dropped him and went towards Izobel.
Caesar rushed at the figure with a kick, but his leg seemed to stop. Caesar noticed that some sort of barrier was protecting him and was even absorbing the impact. Immediately, Caesar felt the pain throbbing in his feet. Caesar stepped back and rushed towards the figure again, with his fist glowing an uncanny red color.
Anytime Caesar attacked, the invincible barrier would halt his movement, and he would feel the effects of the attack. Caesar's clothes were fine, as the force being repelled back at him carried no additional shock wave, so where was the peripheral energy going?
Caesar soliloquized, "He is not even flinching, which means that the force of my attacks isn't even reaching him. He stands there with no fear, being confident that I won't be able to touch him. HE BELIEVES HE IS UNTOUCHABLE."
Caesar would attack, fail, retreat, change position, and attack again. The cycle repeated.
Zeus was easily taking care of the ravens by sending arcs of lightning and hail, Leo was grabbing the ravens with her hands and ....her mouth. The students were able to eliminate swarms of them, with some shooting energy balls, mini stars, and most impressively, some sort of a portal that dissolves the ravens. Even though they weren't paragons, they were still very skilled with their divinities.
But as the students were getting stronger, the ravens got faster, deadlier, and precise by the brumite, and in the pace, some students might get injured, or even worse.....
Caesar just had to trust his classmates, even though he only knew 3% of them.
But let's address the Sundown Elephont in the room: why hasn't anybody heard the chaos in the class? Caesar wonders if there is a barrier, or there in another dimension. No, the sky is normal due to the hole in the roof and walls, the suns were there, and the clouds looked normal, so they are in the same dimension, so maybe a sound cancellation divinity.
"This guy couldn't be limitless. It is simply impossible. He couldn't possibly take hits from everyone or everything. So there must be a limit, surely, there is always a limit. But where? Well, I have to hit him hard enough before to find it".
"STATIC SHOCK!!!" Caesar screamed as he rushed back to punch the figure, with the same result. But instead of pulling back and trying a different approach, he pressed forward. Static shock was an attack that halts the movement of atomos, the smallest composition of matter, but is there any atomos to halt?
"STATIC SHOCK X MIGHTY FUSION!!!!!!" Caesar screamed as he kept pressing on, applying a high amount of nuclear force, which was meant to rapidly decay any matter. His entire forearm and fist were surrounded by a greenish-blue color. His uniform sleeves were torn to shreds with his attack, not due to the reflected shock wave, but the additional shock wave he had to produce to perform the attack. But the Figure showed no sign of fear or alert.
"STATIC SHOCK X MIGHTY FUSION X NEWTON SCALE X HEAT IMPACT X OPPOSING MOTION: PENTAGRAM SMASH!!!!!!!!" Caesar screamed with his blood boiling. He can feel his attacks coming back at him, his hands squirting out blood. Applying all 5 forces in one arm was suicidal, with his mom warning him of the whiplash. That was why Caesar loved his mother. His entire shirt and blazer vaporized, and the pain became unbearable. But Caesar couldn't forgive a person who would take another soul because of evil. That was disgusting.
"PENTAGRAM IMPACT!!!!" With a final shout of anguish, with his dark eyes emitting a blinding blue light, Caesar pressed forward. Combining all the forces in one point of the fist, and releasing it at a precise moment, Caesar was expecting a fruitful result. His chest, abdomen, other arm, and face were squirting out blood, and the figure was still standing there. Not even a sign of urgency.
Caesar felt no reason to give up. He would crack the code, reach the right frequency, and find the limit, even if it kills him. A wave of warmth washed over his body, which was very unusual. He saw a large butterfly avatar on his back, and a multi-legged crimson centipede avatar coiling around his arm.
He looked behind himself to see Izobel, her clothes torn in different areas, but her skin remaining flawless as ever, and Mr. Shawn back in action, engulfing ravens in his clouds and opening portals to his dimension. Her beautiful pink eyes were unusually gloomy and filled with unspeakable rage. Caesar could read the unspoken message in her eyes crystal clear: "BREAK HIM"
"With pleasure," Caesar whispered. He pressed on with newfound strength and a special companion to protect. The crimson centipede avatar has a magic attribute of biting one's shadow, which will damage the owner of the shadow on the part that was bitten.
The sky rumbled, with a hot bolt of lightning piercing through the clouds, and being absorbed in the greenish coating on Caesar's forearm. He adores his companions.
And a glint of hope shimmered as the figure raised his eyebrows, and a spark of annoyance in his swamp green eyes.
"PENTAGRAM SMASH X CENTIPEDE SHADOW DANCE X JUPITER'S CLEAVE!!!!!!!" Caesar screamed, and in a loud explosion, the entire room shook. Chairs cracked, walls were filled with gaping holes, and quakes traveled across the class. The ravens dematerialized back to feathers. The spot where the figure was standing was obscured by dust.
Caesar's entire right arm was bloody red, with stains of blood all over him. He knelt and took a deep breath. He was delighted he was able to avenge Chalybe. The entire class took a sigh of relief. He has finally done it.....
"Impressive"
The atmosphere of calmness was quickly replaced with a feeling of doom. Caesar raised his head as the dust cleared, revealing the figure perfectly fine. With eyes filled with sorrow and unkindness and skin as pale as a corpse, he was unharmed. He stared at Caesar with his heavy eyes, crying streaks of blood which dripped down on his black clothing. No blood, no bruising, not even his clothes got damaged. IT WAS ALL FOR NOTHING.
"But I'm sorry to say your efforts were futile. You strongly believed that I had a limit, and you tried to look for it. But you failed to understand that my defense is perfection. I can not be harmed by high-ranking generals, so why would children be able to harm me ?"
The man spread his wings, his slaver-tipped gloves glistening. "I AM UNTOUCHABLE."
Caesar quickly appeared behind the figure. If that wasn't the limit, he just had to hit him harder. There is no such thing as a perfect defense, right?
Caesar's right arm glowed white hot, increasing the temperature of the room. But the brutality of the problem increased as such.
As Caesar's hand connected to the figure's barrier, the worst occurred. Blood splattered everywhere as his hands erupted. His bones cracked, his veins burst, and his arm was swollen. Caesar felt nothing on his arm, but the searing pain soon flooded his entire body. He screamed while grabbing his broken arm, dropping to one knee.
"What the hell did I just tell you?" The figure said, "You can't touch me, you can't hurt me, you can't scratch me".
The figure grabbed Caesar's hair, raised him off the ground, and slammed him furiously. As Caesar's body bounced off the floor, the figure grabbed his neck, digging its claws in his neck, and threw him up. In an instant, crows appeared and rushed towards him, trying to impale him.
But the Paranormal occurred. A metal casing coffined Caesar, protecting him from the crows. The metal coffin was a cylindrical gloydon chest, the required size that perfectly suited Caesar.
"Sorry, poultry, I can't let you hurt brother Caesar."
The coffin was connected to a wire, which zipped it out of the sky and brought it towards the ground. Before hitting the ground, a cushion deployed around the chest, dampening the fall.
Standing 10 creters tall in front of the figure was nothing short of extraordinary. A gargantuan robotic suit made from pure ekaluminium [a reddish metal] was present. It had two large claws connected to a hexagonal body, armed with two machine guns. The body was supported by two pillars of legs, with a thick tail on the back. The robot looked newly made, with gears and wires still exposed in the arms, legs, and weapons. The part for the head was replaced with a glass panel, as if someone else were inside the machine. The robot made a soft humming sound and an aura of electricity crackling and spewing out of the machinery, and the aura of ravens around the figure showed no sign of fluctuating.
"You have played enough with him; fight me next." The robot said with a metallic, but young voice.
Holes opened at the back of the robot, spewing out thick purple mist that quickly filled the entire class. The purple mist was so thick that light from the large hole in the wall couldn't be seen.
"Looks like you reflect attacks to the person that threw it..."
The voice seemed to be coming from everywhere. The mist stopped at a point around the figure's body.
"Oh, 20 centicreters. I see"
The metallic voice made a series of echoes, and the aura of electricity surrounded him.
"But I am just wondering, what if your attack gets thrown at you?"
Out of nowhere, 3 flocks of ravens speedily dived towards the figure.
By utilizing the purple mist to confuse the direction of the crows, the robot made them attack the figure. So this proves two things: The crows are alive and have a mind of their own, and they can be easily confused by biological weaknesses.
But as always, the worst happened. The ravens disappeared at the same 20 centicreters mark. The robot's soft humming disappeared, as if it were running away, but it made a shriek of pain.
The figure stretched his hands, and the mist quickly dispersed, with the classroom revealed to be empty. All that was left were charred books, broken items of furniture, and burnt feathers.
The robot dropped to one knee at the hole in the wall, the soft humming of the machine depleting. The figure sent a larger raven at it, and it swiftly dived through the machine. Surprisingly, the hole in the machine revealed wires, gears, and other engineering parts. Nobody was piloting the machine.
"What the hell?" The figure murmured.
A large arm grabbed the figure, still stopping at the limit, but yanked him out of the class. The arm was large and bulky, with claws like a wolf, and covered in golden fur and stripes. The figure was thrown into the air, but he managed to gracefully descend on the academy porch, with his hands spread out like wings of a demon. Surrounded by freshly cut bushes, memorials, statues, and trees, the figure looked up, and he was flabbergasted.
The entirety of the first year was present, all 209 of them, with teachers also present. Ghouls, humans, neptunians, demi-humans, and even cyborgs were present.
Their eyes filled with the intention to kill, their weapons and divinity ready to evaporate the figure.
Caesar, Zeus, and Izobel were standing in front of the crowd. Caesar's arm was returning to its normal color, as a giant cocoon avatar surrounded with its attribute to heal wounds, and Izobel was skilled at it.
Fenrir was also present, with his fangs exposed. His uniform was in tatters and shambles. His normal enthusiastic mood has become dark.
Another kid was there. He was around Caesar's height, but the same. He had his eyes covered with short, blue, spiky hair. His face was filled with grimness as he held his left arm, blood staining his uniform.
"You were the one controlling the robot, I presume," The figure said.
Jacques tried to look calm, but the pain was almost unbearable. "I was, yes. But I was just the appetizer..." Jacques looked up at the figure, revealing his left eye. His pupils were baby blue in color, with his eyelashes and eyebrows also being blue. "Get ready to meet the main course."
The figure showed no sign of fear. "I just wanted to kill one kid. Why is it getting this serious? It's just one kid."
And miraculously, I was serious when I said that all "209" students were present.
The figure sensed a presence, an impossible presence.
"Turns out that kid has a lot of friends." A warm but enthusiastic voice said, a very familiar voice.
As the figure turned around, he saw something impossible.
Chalybe was standing behind him, with a gaping hole in his chest, but he was okay. No sign of fatigue or pain, he was perfectly fine.
"How? What kind of ability is this? HOW ARE YOU ALIVE!!!" The figure said, with his eyes of sorrow turning into eyes of annoyance.
Chalybe smiled, "I can freeze anything in time-space, that is obvious. But after the gruesome fight during the trials, I started thinking: can I freeze anything in just time? Or just in space? So I tried it. I started by freezing an apple from falling, freezing a galloping horse, or freezing Caesar from getting the last Germa rolls from the kitchen." Chalybe laughed, which angered the figure.
"All those applications, I froze in space. You could harm them, but you can't move them. They were not conscious or aware. The world kept expanding without them. But I managed to freeze myself in time, the moment the raven went through me. I gambled my life, but I had no choice; I couldn't hesitate, because I had never attempted it before. But it worked, as you can see..."
Chalybe gestured to the hole in his chest, "I successfully froze myself in time. You can't harm me, and I am conscious, and I can move. That is the difference. I was down so long because I was struggling to free myself from space, but still being trapped in time. The world is expanding with me, but the concept of time has forgotten about me. I AM UNTOUCHABLE.
The figure's eyes darkened. It gradually went from its annoyed state back to the normal, sorrowful eyes.
"Okay, let's get him!!" a pupil screamed.
"Break his neck!!" another shouted
"Roast him!!!" another suggested with fire blazing in their eyes.
And in an instant, the worst never stops.
Student's limbs began to erupt, splashing blood everywhere. The student who first screamed got his torso blown off, with intestines and stomach acid spraying in different directions. The other student who shouted suddenly got her neck broken with blood gushing out of her nose, eyes, and ears. And brutally, the student who suggested roasting the figure got his skin burnt off and his muscles and tendons charred black.
Students died in every position, and the figure took advantage of this carnage to send ravens to attack and kill others.
Chalybe backed away from the figure warily, as he stared at the second prince with green eyes overflowing with sorrow. The streams of blood seemed to be getting redder and gushing out faster.
"Neat ability, I have to confess," The Figure said with his voice becoming hollow, as if he was speaking through a gorge, "But I can't only reflect attacks. I can reflect back the future, the attacks you are meant to do, the malicious intention, the plans and tactics. I can easily reflect your future attacks to you peasants."
The figure levitated over the ground, with the aura of ravens increasing.
"LET ME TELL YOU AGAIN. I AM UNTOUCHABLE!!!!"
