Lyra's POV
Once the sand and grasses faded from view, it was instantly replaced with what seemed like a memory.
We were enclosed in a room, a rather large one. On a large bed was Lora—another Lora and Draziel, cuddled up in each other's arms. The real Lora still held tight to my wrist, her lean fingers no longer light but pressing rather hard on my skin.
Like we were mere spectators, Draziel and the memory version of Lora cuddled together without even a glance at us. They seemed so in love. He kissed her on the lips, then her forehead, and they both giggled.
They stared into each other's eyes, yet they said nothing, as if they were communicating through their minds.
