Chapter 57 - Chapter 57: The Great Svarog

Seele led the trio toward the mining zone entrance.

The journey wasn't idle—through Seele's explanations, they learned about the current state of the underground.

Due to the Stellaron's influence, the Fragmentum's spread had displaced many, turning them into vagrants.

Even the mining zones, the lifeblood of the lower city, had been relentlessly eroded.

Their destination was one of the few relatively intact mining areas, where Wildfire's leader, Oleg, was stationed.

Though nothing explosive happened along the way, Seele revealed plenty of information through casual conversation.

The camera occasionally cut to Bronya, whose brows furrowed slightly as she listened to the lower city's plight.

...

Eventually, the group reached the depths of the Great Mine, where they encountered a familiar figure—the underground's only doctor, Natasha!

After a brief exchange, the audience learned that miners had discovered a new ore vein.

Driven by greed, vagrants who caught wind of the news clashed violently with the miners. Natasha had come to tend to the wounded.

Moreover, Oleg had taken Wildfire deeper into the mines to quell the unrest.

The ever-compassionate Natasha also asked the trio to aid any fleeing miners they encountered on their way to find Oleg.

Before long.

On the path to the new ore vein, the group heard thunderous snoring echoing through the tunnels.

"Is that guy… sleeping?" March 7th tilted her head in confusion.

Seele: "Let's check. He might need help."

"Zzz… Zzz…"

The group surrounded a man the subtitles labeled as "Miner Peak." His snores were deafening, rising and falling like waves.

March 7th gave a thumbs-up. "How can anyone sleep through this? That's some next-level skill!

Hey! Wake up! Keep snoozing, and mushrooms'll grow on your butt!"

"Huh? Huh?" Peak drowsily opened his eyes, wiping drool from his mouth. "Mushroom soup? Where's the mushroom soup?"

Seele facepalmed. "Why are you sleeping here? Trying to get yourself killed? Shouldn't you be evacuating to the safe zone?"

"Evacuating?!" Peak suddenly "aha!"-ed. "Now I remember! Some punks showed up outta nowhere and started brawling with the miners…

I was so tired I barely ran a few steps before one of 'em grabbed me. Lucky for me, Wildfire showed up, or they'd have stolen my work clothes too!"

[Too many things to complain about!]

[Youthful energy means good sleep!]

[He's fleeing for his life—how's he sleeping so soundly? I'm losing it!]

[Low-key jealous. Waking up to Seele, Bronya, and March 7th staring at you?]

[Yeah, plus March 7th's wake-up service? Sounds like paradise.]

[Stop, I'm drooling just imagining it!]

[Am I getting dirtier? Mushrooms don't grow on butts, right? They grow… elsewhere.]

[Meat… mushrooms?]

[Key point: He was "so tired" mid-fight. Truly living the "if you fall, just nap where you land" life.] [Yo! is that Connor?]

——

After bidding Peak farewell, the group pressed on.

Not far ahead, Seele spotted another familiar figure.

She turned urgently. "I know her—that's Irene from the first mining team. Quick, let's check her injuries!"

Irene clutched her arm. "Just a sprain, thankfully. You came at the right time—those vagrants kept asking about robots, but I don't know anything…"

Caelus stroked his chin. "Robots? What's the connection?"

After Irene briefly explained the Great Mine's situation, Seele concluded everything pointed to one figure: "The Great Svarog!"

As they advanced, the group heard heated arguing echoing from deeper in the tunnels.

"What's all that noise? Sounds like a full-blown shouting match… Let's get closer."

The camera followed March 7th's gaze.

Miners and vagrants were arguing—with such raw authenticity it felt like overhearing a daily market squabble, dialogue refreshingly unscripted.

But when the vagrants resorted to violence,

Caelus stepped forward, bat in hand. "I'll handle this!"

Seele: "No time for solo heroics. I'm fighting too."

Bronya raised her rifle. "I won't let these thugs run wild either."

From then on, the scene belonged entirely to Seele and Bronya. Though they bickered nonstop on the road,

their combat synergy was flawless.

Especially Seele's teleporting strikes—

30% cool, 70% speed. How could anyone not love it?

[Seele's attack effects are insane!]

[Wait, did I see afterimages?]

[For real. Teleportation-based combat? I'm biologically incapable of resisting.]

[Same! Whether it's Hyper Zetton, Minato Namikaze—it's pure eye candy.]

[Is Bronya using gun kata? Ranged and melee at once?]

[As they say: Outside seven paces, the gun's fastest. Inside seven paces, the gun's fastest and most accurate. Truer words never spoken.]

[The trio barely got screen time! Also, how are miHoYo's actors so skilled?]

[Right? Seele's teleport attacks look flashy, but pulling them off must've taken ages. That half-second aerial shot? Probably hours of wirework!]

[This. This is why miHoYo's web dramas dominate. And the underground set design? Chef's kiss. Now that's professionalism!]

——

In the end, without much intervention from the trio,

Seele and Bronya sent the vagrants fleeing in panic.

As the dust settled, miner Antonina emerged from cover.

"Seele! Thank goodness you're here, or we'd have—"

Seele smirked. "Just some punks. Glad you're safe. Where's Oleg?"

"Oleg? He took the others deeper to drive out the invading robots."

"So Svarog's machines are the root cause…"

"Then we keep going!"

"Hold on." Caelus raised a hand. "Since everything traces back to Svarog, we should talk about this 'Great' figure first."

After a brief stare-down with Caelus, Seele explained,

"This 'Great' one appeared right after the Silvermane Guards withdrew. He quickly became the underground's overlord.

He calls himself the 'Guardian of Humanity'—all unclaimed robots obey him. He's also seized the Core Reactor and barred anyone from approaching."

"'Guardian of Humanity'?" Bronya's expression shifted noticeably. "Commanding robots? I've never heard of such a thing!"

Seele scoffed. "Guess your Architects aren't omniscient after all."

"You—"

March 7th massaged her temples. "Must you two bicker now? Priorities! If it's so dangerous ahead, can we even get through?"

Caelus eyed the path forward.

"Let's move. I'd love to meet this 'Great Svarog' and his robot lackeys!"
