"Although you have absolutely no talent for rap, you seem quite happy entertaining yourself."
Kimimaro's pale green eyes narrowed slightly. Immediately, he placed one hand on his left arm, and a stark white bone blade protruded from it.
Hatake Kuroshi's shadow flickered, instantly dodging the blade that dropped out of thin air.
What!? He disappeared directly from such close range!?
Killer B felt a jolt of surprise, though his expression didn't change much. After all, anyone who could directly find him in the Unraikyō was definitely no ordinary person.
Hatake Kuroshi leaped, kicking the blade's body, using the force to propel himself away, and pressed down on Kimimaro who was about to step forward.
"Let me borrow this. Just stand obediently aside~"
"Adults are fighting; no need for kids to get involved."
Hatake Kuroshi took the bone blade from Kimimaro's hand, then patted his shoulder, gesturing for him to move further away. He wasn't here to fight the Eight-Tails. If Kimimaro got serious now, it wouldn't do any good.
"I'm not very good with this." Hatake Kuroshi admitted, twirling the bone blade.
"But you have so many swords; it feels unfair if I have nothing~"
Although the Limitless technique could block all attacks, given Killer B's attack speed and frequency... constantly using Limitless would likely exhaust himself first. Based on this reasoning, Hatake Kuroshi rarely picked up Kimimaro's bone blade. Though he had never used such a thing before, playing around with it occasionally wasn't a bad idea.
Hatake Kuroshi lightly spun the bone blade in a reverse grip. Opposite him, Killer B had already placed the several swords he carried onto his body. Killer B stood on one leg, blades clamped under his shoulder and on his leg, looking like he was covered in thorns.
"You're the one with no talent! Clearly, you just don't understand my rhythm."
"You don't get me, I don't blame you. People who understand me are few, you see."
As soon as the words fell, Killer B spun towards Hatake Kuroshi like a thorny top. The constantly shifting blades seemed to come from all directions, rapidly stabbing towards Hatake Kuroshi.
Although Hatake Kuroshi's technique was somewhat raw, relying on his own agility, the lack of finesse in swordsmanship was largely compensated for.
Clink Clank Clatter
After a series of crisp sounds, Hatake Kuroshi rapidly spun the bone blade in his hand, blocking Killer B's attacks coming from all directions one by one. Hatake Kuroshi barely moved significantly, showing little intention of attacking proactively.
Not that he's being overwhelmed, but this person isn't taking it seriously at all!
Killer B quickly realized this problem, rapidly spinning the blades in his hands, constantly searching for an opening in his opponent.
"Are you looking down on me? Just using a sword like this is completely useless, see."
"Of course not—! Just felt it was completely unnecessary~"
Hatake Kuroshi's movements suddenly stopped. He casually rested the bone blade on the ground, smiling playfully at Killer B. Then he reached out and directly blocked the tip of the blade pointing towards him.
Killer B raised an eyebrow strangely. Although unsure what trick Hatake Kuroshi was playing, his attacks weren't limited to just one sword. The several blades on his body instantly thrust towards Hatake Kuroshi.
At this density, this person definitely can't dodge.
Killer B took several steps back accordingly, a slight smile playing on his lips, his sunglass-covered eyes fixed on Hatake Kuroshi.
"—"
All the blade tips were forcefully stopped around Hatake Kuroshi, as if hitting an invisible barrier. In an instant, all the thrusting blades clattered to the ground.
"How is that possible!?"
Killer B still held one sword, his eyes wide with disbelief. He had even completely forgotten his rap. An outsider, not only managing to find him but also blocking all his swords at once. This was simply unbelievable.
Outsiders had infiltrated before, trying to investigate the Eight-Tails. Killer B hadn't needed to borrow the Eight-Tails' power to use a Tailed Beast Bomb in a long time. After all, most people couldn't handle his bizarre sword style.
"What is your purpose, strange white-haired, blindfolded person?"
This person's strength couldn't be underestimated. However, in every move Killer B exchanged with him, there was absolutely no killing intent. He was merely reacting to defend. It seemed he wasn't after the Eight-Tails either. In short, a powerful weirdo with an unclear purpose.
Having fought to this point, there's no need to continue. If his purpose is problematic, just blast him with a Tailed Beast Bomb. Killer B secretly decided.
"Amazing!" Kimimaro watched dazedly from the side. Both Hatake Kuroshi and Killer B moved incredibly fast. Especially Killer B's array of blades; Kimimaro could only lock onto the moment his own bone blade clashed. Besides that, he could hardly see their figures clearly.
No wonder Hatake Kuroshi told him to stand aside; participating in such a battle would be meaningless. Kimimaro had always been revered by the Kaguya clan as a human weapon. But looking now, there were clearly plenty of weapons around; he wasn't anything special.
"I'm not interested in the Eight-Tails, but your rapping is terrible."
"I could mercifully teach you~"
Hatake Kuroshi's smile carried a hint of cheekiness. But regardless, his statement wasn't wrong. Besides being a forced rhyming weirdo, calling Killer B's rap 'rap' was strange in itself. His rhythm is basically indistinguishable from 'pale yellow dress, fluffy hair'.
Hatake Kuroshi vaguely remembered Killer B's rap in the original story wasn't this bad. Was it because the current timeline was too early? This guy hadn't even reached his canon level yet.
"Hah?"
"You say you can teach me, but I still don't know how good you are."
"Even if your swordsmanship is decent, rap isn't swordsmanship, ya know?"
Killer B instantly emerged from the gloom of losing the sword fight, starting to banter interestedly with Hatake Kuroshi again.
Hatake Kuroshi hadn't shown any malice towards him from the beginning. He more or less trusted him now. Kimimaro, although having released killing intent momentarily earlier, had clearly been placated by Hatake Kuroshi and had been watching them from the side.
"I barely have any swordsmanship to speak of. Don't force rhymes like that." Hatake Kuroshi exchanged a look with Kimimaro, then snapped his fingers.
Killer B suddenly tensed up. After all, he and the Raikage had combination attacks. Could this be a signal for the two to launch a surprise attack?
Kimimaro, with a knowing look, used bones of varying sizes to assemble a xylophone-like instrument in his hands. Although it looked like a child's toy, made of white bone, it appeared quite strange!? Kimimaro took the bone blade Hatake Kuroshi had used earlier as a 'mallet'. Kimimaro skillfully slid the bone blade across it once; the bones surprisingly produced sounds of different pitches.
Killer B looked Kimimaro up and down. Although he vaguely realized this should be Kimimaro's Kekkei Genkai when the kid pulled bones from his body... who would have thought bones could be used like this!?
"Kekkei Genkai, used like this?"
"Human bone instrument, crisp sound."
Killer B faintly understood why Hatake Kuroshi kept Kimimaro by his side.
Isn't this like carrying a walking musical instrument?!
This person really came fully prepared to be a master.
"Then let me show you."
Seeing Kimimaro had prepared the instrument, Hatake Kuroshi rolled up his sleeves and found a rock nearby. He stepped onto it with one foot, striking a pose like standing on a speaker.
"They always swagger around, they always say, what's up man? respect? never leaving their mouths."
"I'd rather choose to watch coldly with hands in pockets, than pretend to be your homie and backstab you."
"You're a big fool, a big fool, so what? so what?"
Although Kimimaro's accompaniment was a mess, Hatake Kuroshi's voice managed to salvage some of it. Hatake Kuroshi's tone sounded lighter than usual, which, combined with the lyrics, amplified the sense of mockery. A feeling of condescending disdain could be felt directly from the song.
"Wow, that's cool!"
"I acknowledge your skill! Those last few lines were way too impactful! Teach me, teach me!"
"As expected of you, both swordsmanship and rap are nice!"
Not only was there accompaniment, but Hatake Kuroshi's personal style could be felt directly from the rap.
Killer B instantly perked up. This practically opened a new world for him. The kind of rap he knew was just rhyming. Hatake Kuroshi's singing was what truly had melody and rhythm. Killer B started beatboxing the rhythm of those rap lines himself nearby.
"Of course, as expected of me." Hatake Kuroshi was always good at self-praise.
Actually, the reason Killer B was so interested was likely because there was simply no one around him who could rap. This stuff was just him messing around on his own. Hatake Kuroshi himself had the advantage of voice tone, plus his singing wasn't bad; with a little attention, he could do quite well.
Whether rap or swordsmanship, neither of these should be areas he's familiar with.
