Landon's POV
{Outside Onyx Reign Military Force - 10:48 A.M.}
The hallway felt colder than usual as I walked past the ranking officers. It wasn't because of the air conditioning, but because of the silence.
It's been a while since I tortured anyone. I always leave it to my lieutenant or the other officers, but I had to pass on a message today. A very clear one, which made me spill blood today.
Everyone kept their heads down as I walked past them. Some of them were trembling in fear, refusing to even steal a glance from me.
They were scared that they could get stripped of their title or demoted like Whitmore.
The blood on my gloves was dry now. I pulled it off my hands, stuffing them into the biohazard bin on my way out. My hands still smelled of iron, acid and smoke. Death, basically.
I stepped into the sunlight outside the building, pausing on the steps for a second. I pulled the star patch from my pocket... the one I'd ripped off Whitmore's chest... and stared at it.
