Mia Ginger stood up, and the phone on the table suddenly rang.
She leaned over to glance at it, took the phone to the window, and called out, "Brother Jackson."
There was a hint of secret joy in her voice.
"There's an emergency surgery," Koa Jackson's voice carried a slight apology, "I can't get away for now, I called Caiden Ward, he will be your dance partner for a while."
"Okay," Mia Ginger looked out at the evening glow brightening the dusk, nodded, and said, "Work is important."
She glanced at her phone and hung up the call.
She felt a bit disappointed, not seriously, just a little.
Through the phone, Koa Jackson could sense her emotions, he buttoned his shirt, thought for a moment, and made another call.
Madam Ward was surprised, smiled, and said, "Koa."
"Aunt-in-law," Koa Jackson politely addressed, asked, "Are you going to Miss Ginger's birthday party tonight?"
