Chapter-6
[After a year, when they are about to graduate.]
Blake: "Scott, finally, the year is done."
Scott: "Almost, not full, we are still left with our final test."
Blake: "For that, we just need to hunt a light dear and show them nothing more."
Scott: "Sir, we are not so good at hunting like you."
Blake: "Ok, student, anyway we should hunt in groups so you, me & Jane will group up."
Scott: "Oh,k sir."
[Both laugh.]
Blake: "Scott, when do we have the test?"
Scott: "In a week or so."
Blake: "We have enough time, I will go practise to hit moving targets with the help of my wind powers, you help me."
Scott: "What should I help with?"
Blake: "Your main weapon is a magical staff, right?"
Scott: "Yeah, so what?"
Blake: "With your power,r you throwing things in the air at high speed? I will try to hit those."
Scott: "Fine."
[Next day.]
Scott: "Blake, are you ready?"
Blake: "Start."
[Scott throws an apple so fast that Blake couldn't see the apple, le and he shoots 4 arrows, but not even 1 hits the apple.]
Scott: "Blake, was it too fast? Should I slow down?"
Blake: "Throw 3 at a time at the same speed."
[Scott throws 3 apples, but this time Blake could hit 1 apple.]
Blake: "Throw in the same speed and same height."
By the end of the day, Blake could hit 2 targets. Blake and Scott are in their room]
Scott: "At the start of the day, you could not hit any target, and then you started hitting suddenly, how?"
Blake: "At first I did not use my wind powers, so I could not hit but then I started using them and I estimated the apples projectile in that instance where I was shooting the arrow but I am unable to hit all the targets at a time but I can only release 2 arrows in an instance so, if I can work to release more arrows in one instance then I can do it."
Scott: "Good technique."
[Next day.]
Blake: Today, anyhow, I need to hit all three apples and start practising at a higher speed.
Scott: "Shall we start?"
Blake: "Ha."
[By that evening, he could not hit all 3 apples, but he could shoot the arrow very close to the apple. By the end of the next he was able to hit all the apples. Next day.]
Scott: "You can hit all the apples, so let's try something else."
Blake: "What?"
Scott: "We will ask him."
[Ted comes in.]
Blake: "Hi, sir."
Ted: "Hi, Blake. What test do you have?"
Blake: "Hunting light deer."
Ted: "What did you learn in 3 days?
Blake: "I learnt hitting multiple targets at high speed."
Ted: "I suggest you learn to shoot arrows while you are blindfolded."
Blake: "Sir, but how do we hit without seeing?"
Ted: "Don't see but listen to it, light deer are so fast that they make sounds when they run, and there is a chance of them conducting at night, so you should be prepared for everything."
Blake: "I will try."
[Ted blindfolds him.]
Ted: "We are not gonna tell when we shoot the target,t listen to it."
Blake: What is this? How can I learn this in 3 days?
[Ted throws an apple at high speed.d Blake shoots an arrow in the correct direction, but he couldn't hit it.]
Ted: "Blake, you can find the direction, but you cannot estimate the position of the apple. Listen to it, use your brain and ears."
[A day passes, but he can't hit the apple.]
Ted: "I am disappointed today, but fine, we will try it out tomorrow."
Blake: The First time he told me that he is disappointed in me, I will not let it happen tomorrow.
[Next day.]
Ted: "Blake, today I am gonna throw apples at the same speed as light deer, so try today."
Blake: "Yes, sir."
[By evening,g Blake could just release arrows near the apple but couldn't hit it.]
Ted: "Blake, you are doing it better than yesterday."
Blake: "Thanks, sir."
Ted: "But you should do it much better, only then you will be able to perform well in your test, and you only have tomorrow."
Blake: "But sir, I am unable to estimate where it is."
Ted: "I can't do anything, just practice it."
Blake: "Ok, sir."
[After training the whole night.]
Blake: "Finally, I could hit 1."
