Chapter - 8
[Blake is in his home.]
Kael: "Excellent, Blake."
Blake: "Thanks, where am I going to study advanced mana?"
Kael: "Because you got good marks, I am giving you the option to choose where you want to study."
Blake: "I will talk with my friends and tell you."
[Blake went to his room and contacted Scott and Jane.]
Blake: 'Scott and Jane, where are you planning to go to study advanced mana?'
Scott: 'My father told me there is this academy called Astition's and it has a history spread over a few centuries.'
Jane: 'If it's that old, obviously it will be good.'
Blake: 'Ok then, I am telling my father that we decided to go to Astiton's. Bye.'
[Blake went to his father.]
Kael: "Blake, discussed so fast?"
Blake: "Yes, and it's Astiton's."
[Kael's expression changes.]
Kael: "What, you are not going there?
Blake: "Father, but you just told me I can join any academy I want."
Kael: "Except this one."
Blake: "Father, please, please."
[Kael caught Blake's hand and took him to their storage room, took a box which was full of books and pictures of Kael and another guy, Kael took a picture from the box and showed that to Blake. Points at that person.]
Kael: "He is my brother, he also joined Astition's academy and was about to complete his graduation, then he hanged himself, people said that was a suicide. But I know him, he is not a coward to commit suicide. Because of his death, my father was in trauma for a year, and then he passed away, and I was the one who joined the army and helped the family."
Kael: "I already lost my brother, now I don't want to lose my son."
Blake: "Father, nothing will even happen to me."
[Kael in an angry tone.]
Kael: "I told you about my brother, but still, why do you want to go there?"
Blake: "Father, please."
Kael: "No."
Blake: "Father-"
Kael: "No, no, no, you are not going there."
[Blake runs to his room and closes the door.]
Blake: Why is he like this? Why can't he let me go there? I understand his feelings, but he also should try to understand mine.
[Blake contacts Jane and Scott.]
Jane: 'Blake, what did your father tell?'
Blake: 'My father told no.'
Scott: 'But why?'
[Blake tells them whatever happened.]
Jane: 'So because your uncle died in the school, your father is not allowing you to come there.'
Scott: 'Should we try talking to your father?'
Blake: 'Try, but come in person, don't talk through telepathy.'
[2 days later, Jane and Scott came to Blake's house and knocked on the door.]
Jane: "Excuse me."
[Blake opens the door.]
Jane: "Is your father in there?"
Blake: "Yes, he is there. Come in."
Kael: "Did I miss something?"
Blake: "Scott and Jane are my friends."
[Kael came into the living room, where all were seated.]
Kael: "Hi, Jane"
Kael: "Hi, Scott. I am Kael."
Scott & Jane: "Hi, uncle."
Jane: "Uncle, we are here to talk to you about Blake joining Astaition with us."
Kael: "Don't try to convince me."
Jane: "Uncle, I understand your fear. I do. Losing someone close, it never really heals."
Kael: "Then you understand why I can't send my son there."
Jane: "Yes. But uncle... Blake isn't alone. He has us. He's not just going to some academy. He's going with people who will protect him like family."
Kael: "That's what I thought when my brother left, too."
Jane: "Maybe your brother didn't have people like us around him. Maybe if he had someone to talk to, things could've been different. But Blake does. He has Scott. He has me."
Kael: "You think you can protect him from everything?"
Jane: "No... but we'll never let him go through anything alone. And more than that, you raised Blake to be strong, didn't you? Then trust that strength."
[Kael remains silent for a long moment, his eyes softening slightly as he looks at Jane.]
Kael: "You're a bold girl, Jane. And maybe you're right."
[He looks toward Blake's room and takes a deep breath.]
Kael: "Fine. He can go. But one thing—if anything ever feels off, you tell me immediately."
Jane: "You have my word, uncle."
