Alex opened his eyes, the world still and quiet around him.
Through the glass window, moonlight spilled into the room, casting everything in a cold, soothing glow.
He slowly got to his feet, stretching lightly. His eyes drifted to the bed, where Hati was curled up, softly snoring.
As Alex approached, Hati stirred, opening his eyes and lifting his head. Their eyes met.
Alex smiled gently.
"Are you hungry, Hati?" he asked warmly.
Hati's ears perked up, and he gave a soft bark, "Woof! Woof!"
He padded over to Alex, tail wagging, circling him excitedly.
Alex chuckled.
"Yes, yes, we're going to eat. I'm hungry too."
They made their way through the quiet corridors to the cafeteria.
It was nearly empty, bathed in a calm, late-night silence. Only a dim light shone from the private room and the serving counter.
