Void Devouring Flame stared down at Soul Destruction and then his gaze shifted slightly

There was a brief moment of surprise in his tone as his cold eyes stared deeply into Soul Destruction
There was no point in hiding it. In front of someone of such strength there was nothing to conceal. Soul Destruction spread his hands with an indifferent expression as if he too found it unbelievable

All around the Soul Palace thick black chains crisscrossed in every direction like a vast web. Within this web countless translucent soul bodies floated suspended in midair each tightly shackled by the dark links
Each chain was covered in flickering green ghostly flame which burned against the bound souls. Painful cries echoed faintly through the void as the flames eroded their essence slowly but relentlessly
Void Devouring Flame's eyes gleamed with desire. He could sense the immense soul force contained within each and every spirit. If he could devour them all then his strength would leap once again
Without another word he burst into laughter and turned into a stream of black wind rushing toward the center of the main palace. Soul Destruction remained still holding back the surging excitement within his chest
Void Devouring Flame was about to step into the region enveloped by the Divine Monument. Just then his figure halted in midair. A deep and bone chilling sense of danger rose in his heart
This was the instinct born from walking the peak of the continent for centuries. He narrowed his eyes and scanned the surroundings. Nothing out of place could be seen. Everything was quiet as before
He remembered the case of Blood River being controlled by a puppet master. To manipulate a puppet one must first bind it with a soul imprint. However the puppet that controlled Blood River had no trace of its master and moved independently
A terrifying thought entered his mind. Could it be Soul Destruction who did it
He turned abruptly and locked eyes with Soul Destruction. Suspicion rose in his heart. Was this man plotting against him
No he shook his head. Even if Soul Destruction had become a Six Star Dou Saint he was still far inferior to him. He would not dare to act against him unless he sought his own death
Still the sense of danger lingered and would not fade
You go retrieve those soul bodies and bring them out. I will not step into that place
His gaze darkened as he stared closely at Soul Destruction observing his every movement

A pure white flame surged out like a tide transforming into a sea of fire in the blink of an eye. The temperature dropped instead of rising creating a strange chill in the air

Void Devouring Flame stared in disbelief. His eyes lit up with greed. He clenched his fists but did not move forward. This was clearly a trap laid out in the open

Soul Destruction smirked as the air trembled. A green lotus formed entirely of fire rose into the sky hovering steadily in place. The surrounding air crackled under the intense heat

Before Void Devouring Flame could recover from the shock a massive invisible fire serpent and a deep blue sea flame followed suit. Both appeared beside the other two flames

Void Devouring Flame's eyes turned bloodshot. The purpose of devouring soul bodies was to raise his strength. And now four different heavenly flames were right before him
If he could consume them all then he would gain more than he had from years of devouring spirits

Void Devouring Flame shouted and released a massive palm attack. His figure turned into a black fire cloud scorching the surrounding space and blasting apart the terrain as he charged at the four flames
Soul Destruction's expression changed. He raised his hand and struck forward but his punch landed squarely against the full force of that black fire
A dull sound echoed across the void. Soul Destruction was blasted hundreds of meters away. His chest heaved violently from the impact. That palm had nearly shattered his bones
Curse it this monster hit like thunder
All mine they are all mine
Void Devouring Flame dispersed into a vast black inferno. The fire surged toward the four heavenly flames attempting to engulf them all at once

A cold word echoed across heaven and earth like a divine decree
The sound of cracking rang in all directions. Space itself collapsed around Void Devouring Flame. A prison formed from torn fragments of space enclosed him entirely
Soul Destruction what are you doing
His voice trembled with rage
You still do not understand
Soul Destruction emerged from the void with a slight smile. With a beckon of his hand the four flames returned into his body in a flash
You want to devour me
Void Devouring Flame laughed coldly as his body burst into light. The space prison around him emitted creaking sounds as if ready to shatter at any moment
Soul Destruction watched without worry. A few breaths later Void Devouring Flame's expression shifted. He could not believe it
The prison still held. His flames which could consume even space itself were failing to break through
From the moment you stepped into my domain your fate was sealed
Here within this domain I am God
Soul Destruction raised his palm. A faint golden glow shone from the Divine Monument beside him
With a single word he spoke
Shatter
With a deafening crash Void Devouring Flame and the spatial prison exploded into motes of light. Embers scattered across the heavens
Yet even as they scattered they began to reform. The fire essence gathered once more struggling to flee
You cannot kill me
The voice of Void Devouring Flame roared in defiance
Soul Destruction narrowed his eyes
Separation of Consciousness
His voice fell like divine command. The flames rolled and twisted violently

A piercing wail erupted as Void Devouring Flame's consciousness was forcibly torn away from his essence
The scream echoed for miles shaking the skies
