The hunter academy stadium roared—not with cheers, but with war cries.
A ring of 373 elite Awakeners closed in, each bearing deadly gifts—lightning surged, water spiraled, fists cracked stone.
"I never believed… not even in my worst nightmares—teaming up with an idiot wielding fire and 357 enemies behind him," James muttered, dodging a bolt of lightning that tore the concrete beside him.
"Physics says hi," Alex grinned, spinning mid-air, flames wrapping around his leg like a golden dragon. His kick collided with a metal tank of a man—not breaking him, but launching him clean across the field.
Wind burst beneath James' feet—he danced like a leaf in a hurricane, delivering sharp gust-punches that slammed enemies into the arena walls. "No killing," he barked. "Just break their pride!"
Three lightning users blinked behind him—James spun, curved wind blades slashing the air, disrupting their phase mid-jump. They crashed, groaning, sparks flickering.
Alex stepped into the core of the chaos. Fire licked the ground in rhythmic pulses. Each martial kick targeted joints, pressure points—precision pain, not fatal strikes.
A water wielder surged forward—Alex evaporated the blast mid-air with a fiery roundhouse, heatwave bursting outward, distorting vision.
"Circle formation tightening!" James called.
Alex nodded, eyes sharp. "Then we break the circle. "
"Remember your punch," James growled, gripping Alex's wrist tight. "I'll give you the push—now fly!"
With a roar, James launched Alex into the air. A tornado of wind coiled around him, lifting him like a god ascending.
James nodded up at him. Alex steadied his breath, his Qi flaring golden-white around his body, propelling into his fist like a burning comet.
Below, James held the frontline—barriers of wind pushing back swarming enemies. He looked up. His pupils shrank.
A streak of divine light was falling from the sky. No... not light. Alex.
"Damn monster—he's gonna blow the whole stadium!" James summoned a hurricane barrier, deflecting the crowd from the impact zone. "GO! INTO THE AIR!"
He leapt just as—
BOOOOOOM!!
Alex struck like judgment itself.
The earth groaned and shattered beneath him. Cracks spread out in all directions, carving deep scars into the stadium floor. Stone and steel lifted from the shock, breaking apart like brittle glass.
The explosion wasn't just sound—it was power.
The shockwave rolled like thunder through the arena, tossing fighters through the air like dry leaves in a storm. Bodies slammed into walls. Benches snapped in two. The steel gates twisted and flew into the sky
Dust filled the air—thick, choking, and blinding. The wind screamed. Fires flickered in random corners. Rubble rained down.
And in the center of it all…
Alex stood inside a giant crater, his body glowing with golden energy.
His coat burned away. His eyes are fierce and still. He didn't move. He didn't blink. a dead stair at black sky
James spun mid-air, sweeping wind wide to clear the smoke.
There, amidst the wreckage, stood Alex—calm. But his eyes? Burning. Golden flame licked his fists. His gaze locked on the sky.
"James... look up. The last chess piece—the King."
James's instincts screamed. His heart raced. Something monstrous had arrived.
A voice echoed, smooth and cruel:
"Hahaha! Such marvelous fighting... You two are truly worthy."
From above, two glowing red eyes pierced the darkness.
Alex growled, voice steady, "Thanks for the compliment... but I can't hit what I can't see."
Suddenly, every light in the stadium flickered on. And there he was.
Every stadium light blasted on with low light .
Blinding brilliance flooded the battlefield.
And there he was.
Suspended in the air like a god of nightmares.
Ten feet tall. Skin blood-red and gleaming like polished armor. His horns coiled back, jagged and twisted like twin scimitars. Wings unfurled—massive, leathery, casting shadows that swallowed the rubble below. His wings stretched wide—blocking the moon itself.
He hovered, suspended like a nightmare god. James staggered, struggling to breathe—but still standing.
"Deny his existence, James," Alex growled. "He's nothing but cursed trash dressed in power.
Suddenly, the arena blazed to life. Light exploded from every corner, revealing… around his arms
the golden flame around his fist started to spread around his arms . the pressure on james was vanished ,
"Alex! Are we sure we have to fight?" James shouted, wind swirling around his feet.
"Listen closely! Hold nothing back! Hit him with everything—and use the stones in the center to boost me!" Alex snapped.
Without waiting, Alex hurled a stone with brutal force—and vanished.
The next moment, he reappeared in front of the demon with a blazing fist.
James's jaw dropped. "He's insane! The hell's wrong with this guy?!"
"I'm coming too, crazy man!" he shouted, kicking off the ground.
Across the colossal stadium, the Ace Squad watched in disbelief. Alex versus the demon... one-on-one.
"Start evacuating the students!" James yelled.
The squad kicked into motion. Bethany yanked the roof down with telekinesis, using it as a platform to gather survivors. Another summoned a golem to carry students. A third started teleporting them outside in groups.
Meanwhile, James hurled stones at the demon—and Alex used them like stepping stones, darting through the air. Too fast to track. Too wild to stop.
The demon, sensing the escape, turned toward the fleeing students—but a divine shield crashed down, forcing it to halt. A blazing sword pinned its left wing to the ground. And in a flash—
Alex stood before it.
"I'm right here. Looking for me?" he asked, his shield glowing.
The demon smirked. "You're amusing, boy. Who are you?"
"Alexander Forster Cane," he said, grinning.
The demon flinched. "What's your other name? Your father's name?!"
"Alexander Brave Light Author. Son of Xander, Brave Light Author."
The demon's face twisted in horror. It tore its own wings and soared upward.
"You were supposed to die a century ago! How are you still alive?!"
Alex laughed. "Maybe fate wasn't finished with me yet."
"Alex!" James yelled. "Let's end this!"
Suddenly, Alex felt a hand in his.
It was Penny.
In a flash, she lifted him into the sky above the stadium.
"Ready, idiot?" she smirked. "You've done it once—you can do it again."
She vanished.
Alex gathered his Qi. His lungs screamed in pain. Muscles tore. But he didn't stop.
"Penny—I need more height. Clear the arena. Only James stays."
He powered up, golden flames spiraling around his fist. Penny teleported the Ace Squad to safety. James held the demon back, wind howling like a storm.
When the Qi was ready, Alex roared: "NOW!"
Penny teleported him mid-air, right above the demon.
James flew higher, flipping off the demon. "Eat this, asshole!"
BOOOOM!
Alex struck the demon like divine judgment. The stadium shook. Half of it collapsed in the shockwave.
"Everyone, get out!" Penny shouted—and vanished.
But the demon wasn't done.
Its body began mutating—dark, powerful. "Round two," it hissed.
A voice rang out behind Alex.
"Need some help?"
He turned. That familiar aura…
"Yep—Brave Light."
A woman with a glowing wand floated beside him.
"James! I need the sword!" Alex yelled.
James summoned it with wind magic and hurled it through the air. A massive lightning bolt crashed down on Alex—but he absorbed it, channeling it into the blade.
Alex plunged the sword through the demon's heart. Lightning and golden fire erupted from the strike. The demon screamed.
Its body tried to regenerate.
"Persistent bastard," Alex muttered.
He infused the sword with Qi and divine fire until there was nothing left—no body, no ash. Just silence.
He collapsed.
James dropped beside him. "Hey, Alex. Are you alive?"
"I think my left ribs are cracked... and my leg's shattered. Can Sister Dora heal us?"
Alex groaned. "My legs muscles feel torn. Everything hurts. But maybe... she can fix us."
They looked at each other—and burst into laughter.
"This won't be the last time we fight together, will it?" James asked.
"I doubt it," Alex smiled. "Like Tony Lopez said—'Warriors we were. And if fate allows… warriors we'll be again.'"
"You dumbass," James groaned. "Stop quoting poetry while I'm bleeding."
Alex laughed, pulled out a syringe, and jabbed it into his arm. "Better than listening to Miss Avery's class !".
She smirked and pointed at Alex.
"Hey, kid! What's the real meaning behind your codename, huh? 'Alex'?"
Alex groaned, covering his face with one hand.
"Oh no... not this again..."
The lady grinned wider.
"It means... Alex wet his diapers! right "
James blinked.
"Wait, WHAT?!"
Then he cracked up.
"Dude! Did you seriously wet your diapers?!"
The lady laughed.
"He's grown up now... Guess I missed my chance to change them myself!"
James was practically on the floor.
"HAHAHA! Alex the Diaper Warrior!"
Alex's eye twitched.
"Please… can we not talk about diapers?"
James smirked.
"Diapers..."
Alex snapped.
"JAMES, YOU BASTARD! I'M GONNA KILL YOU!"
He hurled a stone at James, who barely dodged, still cackling.
Just then, the rest of the Ace Squad rushed in.
"Alex! James! Are you guys okay?" Bethany called out.
One squad member shouted from behind,
"Hey! Who's the pervert that made the girls and boys strip?! Roy's nose started bleeding while he was helping!"
Bethany added with a sigh,
"Some of the girls slapped him. I warned him..."
James doubled over.
"Okay, THAT—was hilarious."
