"I thought you went somewhere else," I muttered, stepping in slowly.
She shrugged. "You were stalling. I hate watching people stall."
"I wasn't stalling. I was…."
"Scared?" she said, cocking her head. "Or are you going to claim you were just 'thinking' again?"
I didn't rise to it. Not yet.
"Bitch I was on my way here" I thought to myself as I walked in.
The war room dimmed as the system detected two active combatants. I looked at the resting bed at the back, the whore was gone. The floor shifted beneath us, rising into a circular platform surrounded by faint blue lights. Combat grid: activated.
"You think sparring with you is going to make me stronger?" I said, pulling my jacket off.
"I know it will," she replied flatly.
"I'll understand if it was Axel but you?"
"You'll pay for looking down on me" she said with disdain in her tone
I stepped into the circle. "You don't hold back, do you?"
Her gloves clicked into place. Boy I Never did."
