Chapter 18 - Chapter 18 Magic Treasure

Eventually, Alka didn't buy anything. After all, spending a few Silver Snakes was somewhat expensive.

After browsing for a while, Alka only bought a few more detailed maps at a grocery shop, costing him over ten Copper Swallows.

With guidance from passers-by, Alka found the White Sail Boat Anchor. This was a shop near the port area, quite spacious—a two-story building with a wide storefront and rooms at the back, possibly including warehouses. He peeked inside and saw it was a shop selling various canvas, locks, and other tools for boats.

"Alka? Is that you, Alka?" a middle-aged man with a short shirt and a slightly chubby physique inside the shop suddenly asked, looking at Alka.

Hearing someone call his name, Alka turned around, his memories swirling. "Uncle Aube? What are you doing here?"

"This is my store, of course, I'm here," Aube replied. "But what brings you here? You didn't sneak out, did you?" As he said this, he hurriedly came over to look at Alka. After all, this place was quite far from Golden Wheat Island.

"Haha, don't worry, Aube, you old dog! Little Alka came with me." As the voice spoke, Hawls and Siegert walked right in.

Seeing the two, Aube touched his forehead. He quickly calculated the time and roughly guessed why they had come.

This Aube was also a resident of Golden Wheat Island. After all, with so many people on the island, some would inevitably want to seek opportunities elsewhere. The group then entered the shop's back courtyard, where three rooms were prepared for them on the second floor. They were all residents of the island, so they usually stayed at the shop when visiting temporarily.

In Alka and Siegert's room:

"Why are you back so quickly?" Siegert asked. "It's your first time here; I thought you'd explore for much longer."

"It's too big, and I'm not familiar with the place. I just browsed a little and came back," Alka said as he pulled out a few rolled maps from the small bag behind him.

Seeing the items in Alka's hands, Siegert couldn't help but tease him, "Maps again? Do you like them so much?"

Alka spread one of the maps open and said casually, "As a Treasure Hunter, maps are absolutely essential."

"Really... really?"

"Of course."

Siegert wasn't entirely sure, so he just nodded. But could one find treasure with just maps? Why haven't I found any?

What young man doesn't dream of treasure hunting? Striking it rich overnight, spending as they please, no longer restricted by their parents.

Alka looked at the map spread out before him. This map was incredibly detailed; it was of this island. When purchasing it, Alka already knew what points were marked on it.

As his eyes blinked, six white dots and one blue dot appeared on the map. Alka clicked on each white dot. The results were clear: all were marked as "Ordinary Treasure" with no information other than their Fame and Difficulty. However, it did allow Alka to see new types of difficulties, such as 'Climbing Expert' or 'Swimming Master.'

Finally, he clicked on the blue dot.

[Magic Treasure]

[Difficulty: Strongman]

[Fame: 7]

[Treasure Information: Alando Ture's estate.]

Strongman... Alka mused. Does that mean it requires significant strength to get the treasure?

Thinking about this, Alka turned his head to Siegert and suddenly said, "Siegert, interested in experiencing real treasure hunting?"

Hearing Alka's words, Siegert looked at him. His eyes widened, and delight was visible on his face. "Of course, I want to! Did you find a treasure?"

Alka nodded and then said, "Help me ask Uncle Aube about Alando Ture and his estate."

"No problem! Wait for my news." With that, Siegert dashed out of the room.

Alka then redirected his gaze back to the map. The blue dot was at the upper left edge of the port city. According to the information, it should be Alando Ture's estate. The reason he knew this little bit of information was probably because he'd heard the name while looking at a weapon in the weapons shop earlier that day. Just knowing a person's name allowed the system to gather some information. If more information was obtained, the system could reveal even more treasure details unknown to him. Besides location markings, Alka found this feature most useful.

「Soon enough.」

Siegert rushed back in and said directly, "Alando was a well-known gunmaker on the island; his firearms sold for high prices. But 30 years ago, he died during a sea voyage.

"As for his estate just outside the city, it's been abandoned for a long time. He had no descendants, and any valuable items inside were scavenged long ago.

"The island's Governor's Mansion is waiting for the estate's deed to automatically expire so it can be demolished and rebuilt."

After saying all this in one breath, Siegert sat on the edge of the nearby bed, gulped water from a cup, and said, "Phew! That's it. Did you get any information from that?"

Alka nodded, then turned back to stare thoughtfully at the map. Seeing Alka like this, Siegert just sat nearby, not disturbing him. If I interrupt his train of thought and we can't find the treasure, that would be a real shame.

At that moment, in front of Alka, was the updated treasure information:

[Alando Ture's Peak Legacy]

[Difficulty: Strongman]

[Fame: 7]

[Treasure Information: Alando Ture's estate, storing its owner's prime-time creations, still undiscovered.]

Creations from his peak... Alka thought. That means it's definitely a firearm, and one that's reached the level of a Magic Item. From the label of the blue dot, Alka knew it signified a Magic Treasure.

Knowing this information, he began to think seriously. The estate is deserted, and anything valuable was stripped away decades ago, so it shouldn't be too dangerous now. The difficulty is 'Strongman,' which means acquiring the treasure requires considerable strength. It's probably located somewhere that involves lifting heavy objects.

Alka finished his thoughts, then put away the map. He pulled Siegert along and headed outside. "Let's go, I'll take you treasure hunting."

"Alright, alright, let's go quickly!"

Siegert grabbed two weapons from beside the door, handing Alka a Sailor's Saber.

After greeting Aube, they headed towards the location marked on the map. The main reason Alka brought Siegert along was the 'Strongman' difficulty—there's strength in numbers. Besides, taking Siegert on a genuine treasure hunt would mean he'd definitely talk about it at home. That would also put Aunt Macy's mind at ease.
