"Hey, Shinigami from the Sixth Division! I'm a good friend of your Captain Kuchiki. He's my brother-in-law. Come on, let's have a nice chat..."
"Hey! Don't run away!"
In the streets of Seireitei, when the Shinigami saw a large group of people running, they panicked and ran too—like they had just seen a ghost.
While escaping, they shouted:
"It's over! That monster, Qiye, is coming—run for your lives!"
"Hurry! Tear down the walls and escape! If you don't, he'll eat you!"
"Someone go warn Captain Kuchiki! He needs to run too! Don't let that monster catch him!"
The entire Sixth Division fell into chaos.
Qiye pulled his hand back, looking disappointed as the Shinigami scattered. He sighed and said, "Why are they running? I really just wanted to be friends..."
The Shinigami he was holding hostage twitched at the corner of his mouth, full of complaints.
Friends? You mean turning us into your new shields!?
With the Sixth Division empty, Qiye sighed again, shook his head, and casually walked toward the buildings.
Walls, houses, rooftops—anything made from spirit particles—began to crumble and dissolve, being absorbed directly into Qiye's body.
In just moments, he had cleared another large area.
Ichimaru Gin couldn't help but comment, the corner of his mouth twitching: "Hey, traveler, the captain's already gone. Can you let me go now?"
He was seriously losing his patience.
It was humiliating.
Especially earlier, when they passed the Tenth Division. His longtime crush, Matsumoto Rangiku, had looked at him with pity.
If it wasn't for his secret plan to hide and assassinate Aizen Sōsuke, he might've gone Bankai and slashed Qiye right there.
Qiye gave him a glance and said coldly, "Don't try anything funny. If you do, I'll kill you. Your corpse can still be my friend."
He had been eyeing Ichimaru Gin's abilities for a long time.
Shikai Shinsō could extend to a hundred times its blade length at incredible speed.
His Bankai, Kamishini no Yari, was rumored to move at five hundred times the speed of sound. That might be exaggerated, but its poison was real—and strong enough to nearly kill Aizen Sōsuke.
If Qiye could turn Ichimaru Gin into one of his "Pains" and combine that with his current powers... who knows how terrifying he could become?
Ichimaru Gin shivered all over.
"Ahhhh! That monster's in our 11th Division now! Everyone run!"
"Vice Captain Yachiru Kusajishi has already been kidnapped!"
"He even ate the Technology Development Bureau! And he stole seven artificial bodies—all made in the form of female Shinigami!"
"Now he's headed to the 8th Division!"
"Vice Captain Ise Nanao actually fought back in anger..."
"And... she got captured too."
"No way! That guy even went to the 4th Division... that's Captain Unohana's place!"
"He even beat up sick patients, for crying out loud!"
"You jerk! Don't you dare touch Hinamori!"
"Bankai! Daiguren Hyōrinmaru! Aaargh!刂刂—YOU DARE TO HIT ME TOO!?"
"Captain Tōsen Kaname got beaten again! His last injuries hadn't even healed yet, and now he's bandaged like a mummy!"
That day, Seireitei plunged into total panic.
It became a nightmare burned into the memory of every Shinigami.
This unknown intruder—this "traveler"—brought chaos wherever he went. He single-handedly wrecked the entire Seireitei and dragged countless Shinigami into madness.
With the Captains of the Gotei 13 missing, nobody could stop him. Any Shinigami who tried to resist was left half-dead.
He even attacked the 4th Division—where the injured and sick were supposed to be safe.
Captain Hitsugaya Tōshirō, in a fit of rage, went full Bankai. Even then, he ended up coughing blood after the fight. Some said it was from the damage. Others whispered he vomited blood from pure anger after watching his childhood friend, Hinamori Momo, get hit again by Qiye.
"I'm full. I can't eat anymore..."
No one knew which division he was in by then. Qiye patted his stomach, looking satisfied and relaxed.
He had consumed a lot this time.
Everything built with spirit particles—walls, roads, even buildings—was devoured by him. Several divisions had been completely destroyed, with nothing left but rubble and shattered tiles.
Even the massive Gedo Statue, which had been damaged earlier, had now reformed and could be summoned again at any moment for battle.
"Still... something feels missing..."
Qiye rubbed his belly and thought.
"Full" was just a word—he still had an appetite.
To be exact, it wasn't that Qiye didn't want to keep absorbing spiritual energy—his body simply couldn't handle any more.
His eyes burned with power, but there was none of the expected transformation. It didn't feel like when the Mangekyō Sharingan evolves into the Rinnegan.
"Am I missing the power of the Hollows?"
Qiye suddenly had a thought.
Before he came to the Soul Society, he had devoured the spiritual energy of hundreds of thousands of Menos Grande in Karakura Town. That Hollow energy, combined with the spiritual power of Shinigami, had awakened the Rinnegan in him.
So, to evolve the Rinnegan further, he would need to use all of that energy again.
But where could he find Hollows in the Soul Society?
While thinking, he touched the wall beside him and sighed a little sadly."My appetite really isn't that big... Can't I just eat a little more?"
(TLnote-average shi that fridge who protects snacks say)
Opportunities like this were rare. Who knew if he'd ever get another chance to come to Soul Society?
He thought it would be smart to absorb more now, and maybe by the time he reached Hueco Mundo, he could awaken the fully powered Nine Magatama Rinnegan.
All the nearby Shinigami—Ichimaru Gin, Ise Nanao, Hitsugaya Tōshirō, and others—twitched uncomfortably when they heard his words.
Ise Nanao gritted her teeth and snapped, "You STILL want to eat? Are you trying to devour all of Seireitei?!"
She had just fought a tough battle with him.
After only a few moves, she was caught by his seven Yoruichi-style Universal Pulls, and her spiritual energy had been drained by his hunger-driven Kidō.
Now he was saying he wasn't satisfied yet?
She was beyond angry.
The other Shinigami around her were speechless too.
Some of them thought, If we all joined forces, maybe...
But before they could act, Qiye waved his hand.
"Forget it. That's enough for today. See you all in seven days."
And just like that, he vanished in an instant.
The hundreds of Shinigami caught up in his chaos finally let out a breath of relief and scattered quickly. None of them wanted to be turned into a shield again.
"Seven days, huh?!"
Ise Nanao clenched her fists, furious. "Fine. Just wait. Once we rescue Rukia Kuchiki, no one will be used by you again!"
At that same time.Seireitei – First Division Headquarters.
The remaining Shinigami had all gathered there, silently staring at their captain.
Old Man Yamamoto looked like he was about to explode.
Many of them glanced at each other nervously, all thinking the same thing:
"If that lunatic Qiye had actually hurt someone instead of just capturing them, the old man would've gone nuclear already."
You could see the veins bulging on Yamamoto's forehead. He slammed his hand on the chair, releasing a wave of powerful Reiatsu. The pressure filled the room with heat as he shouted:
"In seven days, I want that human captured. No—YOU will do it yourselves!"
Kyoraku Shunsui gave a bitter smile. He had never seen the Head Captain so angry.
Not even during the Hollow incident a hundred years ago—when several captains and lieutenants were involved—did Yamamoto lose his calm like this.
The fact that Qiye, a single outsider, had pushed the thousand-year-old captain to this point... that said a lot.
"Good luck, kid," Shunsui muttered under his breath.
Seven days later came quickly.
Qiye hadn't been seen again since that day, but something huge happened in Seireitei.
Aizen Sōsuke, Captain of the Fifth Division, was found murdered inside his own squad barracks—his body nailed to the wall, blood still dripping.
Everyone in Seireitei immediately blamed Qiye.
They were sure he had done it.
So they all made up their minds: they would catch him on the day of the execution.
Execution Day.
Mōsen Execution Grounds, near the Sōkyoku Hill.
Every captain that could still fight had gathered. Even Captain Tōsen Kaname, who had already been beaten three times and was wrapped like a mummy, had been dragged there.
A huge crowd of Shinigami stood at a distance, watching the scene from afar.
The captains stood around the execution platform—some in the air, others on the ground—exuding pure power and dominance. The full might of Seireitei was on display.
Soon, Rukia Kuchiki was led out.
She was dressed in white. Surprisingly, she wasn't chained or shackled. She paused and glanced back every few steps before arriving at the execution platform.
Looking at the massive show of force around her, Rukia couldn't help but feel shocked.
"It's really come to this..."
The captains were all releasing their spiritual pressure. Each one was ready for battle.
It was hard to believe that anyone would dare try to break through this kind of defense just to rescue someone.
She wasn't the only one thinking this.
Many Shinigami in the crowd had the same thought:
"No way someone shows up to stop this. It's impossible."
But then...
He came.
