Chapter 65 - Chapter 65: The Critical Moment

Lin Yide opened the system store.

Previously, he had completed the trial event – solving the disappearance of the girl Lindsay, earning 400 trial points. Adding that to his previous 3100 points, he now had 3500 points, only 1500 points away from exchanging for a Vision.

But now, he had to grit his teeth and spend 3200 trial points to upgrade his Favonius Bladework - Gale to the highest level, Grand Master.

With a thought, 3200 trial points instantly vanished, replaced by a surge of immense swordsmanship insights and experience flooding into his body.

These precious swordplay essences merged with him, causing him to exude an unprecedentedly terrifying aura.

His eyes became sharp as knives, and the silver sword in his hand seemed to sense its master's change, emitting a buzzing hum, as if yearning for blood.

In an instant, he knocked all the daggers out of the three assassins' hands.

This action clearly caught the assassins off guard. They cursed inwardly, thinking this guy was playing dumb, pretending to be weak!

The three assassins exchanged glances, seemingly reaching a tacit understanding.

Immediately afterward, their figures began to undergo strange changes. Their clothes gradually dissolved, their bodies became transparent and fluid, and they eventually transformed into three human-sized Oceanids.

These Oceanids, though beautiful in appearance, possessed extremely formidable combat power.

They manipulated the power of Hydro, launching even more violent attacks on Lin Yide.

Water flowed like arrows, and surged towards Lin Yide like giant waves.

Although Lin Yide barely managed to suppress the situation with his extraordinary swordsmanship, he found that his attacks inflicted negligible damage on these Oceanids.

Their bodies were like flowing water; even if they were cut open, they would quickly return to their original state.

On the contrary, the opponent's constant Hydro attacks made it difficult for him to parry, forcing him to jump around like he was walking a tightrope.

At this moment, Lin Yide desperately desired to possess a Cryo Vision, to freeze all these Oceanids in place.

As time passed, his stamina began to gradually decline.

With each swing of the silver sword, he could feel the ache in his arm.

His reactions and speed were not as agile as before, and many parts of his body were hit by the Oceanids' Hydro attacks, leaving wounds of varying depths.

If he had a health bar, he probably had less than a quarter of his health left.

His vision gradually blurred, and the scene before him began to double.

His body also became heavier and heavier, as if bound by invisible shackles.

However, he did not give up.

As long as there was a glimmer of hope, he would persevere.

Just as Lin Yide felt that he was about to collapse, a graceful and slender female figure suddenly appeared in his sight.

This figure was like a ray of light in the darkness, instantly igniting the fire of hope in his heart.

"Yide, this is rare. I didn't expect to see you in such a disheveled state," the woman said with a hint of teasing.

Lin Yide looked up and saw a blood-red scythe in the woman's hand.

The scythe looked eerie and terrifying in the dim twilight.

"Arlecchino, stop talking nonsense and save me!" Lin Yide shouted anxiously.

The three Oceanids keenly sensed the powerful aura emanating from Arlecchino, knowing that she was a formidable enemy.

Therefore, they decided to intensify their attacks on Lin Yide, attempting to eliminate him before Arlecchino could act.

However, this move was doomed to be futile.

The Pyro Vision on Arlecchino's waist flashed with dazzling light, containing a violent and scorching Pyro power.

The blood-red scythe in her hand seemed to become a conduit for this power, and violent Pyro energy frantically gathered on the blade, forming scorching streams of fire.

Arlecchino wielded the blood-red scythe, each swing carrying a destructive force.

She was like a soul reaper from hell, and any Hydro attacks that dared to stand in her way vanished into nothingness under the swing of the scythe.

The three Oceanids were terrified when they saw this.

They knew that the gap between their strength and Arlecchino's was like a chasm, and continuing to fight would only lead to their own destruction.

Therefore, they decisively abandoned their attacks on Lin Yide and Arlecchino and turned to flee.

But how could Arlecchino let them go so easily?

A sharp glint flashed in her eyes. She dragged the blood-red scythe with one hand, and her figure flashed, chasing after them like a ghost.

Arlecchino gripped the blood-red scythe tightly and caught up with the three Oceanids who were trying to escape at an incredible speed.

She leaped into the air, and the scythe drew a perfect arc in the air, like a shining meteor in the night sky, beautiful and deadly.

"Hiss~"

As the scythe fell, the scorching Pyro energy and the Oceanids' Hydro energy intertwined, emitting bursts of intense evaporation sounds.

This sound was like the laughter of the Grim Reaper, announcing the end of the Oceanids.

Under Arlecchino's powerful offensive, the three Oceanids melted into water vapor like snow meeting the sun, completely disappearing into the air.

They seemed to have never appeared, leaving not a trace.

The battle ended, and Arlecchino gracefully put away her blood-red scythe, turning around to check on Lin Yide's condition.

She thought he would be covered in wounds, waiting for her rescue.

However, when she looked back, she found Lin Yide leisurely sitting on the ground, holding a fragrant roasted chicken in his hand, devouring it.

His face showed no sign of tension or fatigue, but was full of satisfaction and contentment.

This scene stunned Arlecchino.

She wondered if she was seeing things or having some kind of hallucination.

But, in fact, she was not mistaken.

Lin Yide was indeed eating chicken!
