The world shrinks to the steady rise and fall of Tanner's chest. His breathing is uneven. His grip tightens on Kyle's arm, holding him there.
His lips move against Kyle's like he's afraid to go on and to stop as well, like he needs the contact to stay grounded.
Kyle wants to move, to pull back. His head says no, but his body hesitates. His muscles feel heavy, and he doesn't fight it.
"Tanner," he says again, low and conflicted. He's not sure what he's asking for. He just knows this feels dangerous.
Tanner's voice is rough, slurred. "What...? Don't you want this? Why not?" He loosens his grip but doesn't let go. Then he kisses him again, harder this time before Kyle can answer.
Kyle doesn't respond right away. But the kiss deepens, and eventually, involuntarily, his body starts to move, to respond in movements, he starts kissing back.
His hands move slowly, feeling Tanner's bare skin under his shirt. Their lips match pace. The warmth between them builds fast.
