That night.
The quiet hum of the seaside breeze slipped through the slightly open window as they sat together at the dinner table.
Just the two of them.
Simple dishes.
Soft lighting.
Haruki was smiling between bites.
"Tomorrow… you have work?" she asked quietly.
"Yeah," Haruki nodded, setting down his chopsticks. "But as usual… I won't be long."
Kyouko smiled and tilted her head. "Do you want me to wake you up?"
He looked at her for a moment, and smiled.
"Sure… if you don't mind."
"I don't," she said gently, eyes glowing.
By the way, I've moved my things to the next room."
Haruki blinked, then gave a subtle nod.
"I know," he said, quietly. "So… when they come and check…"
Kyouko gave a small, knowing smile.
"So everything looks proper."
Kyouko stood gracefully, gathering the bowls and plates with practiced ease.
"I'll wash these," she said softly, already carrying them toward the sink.
"Let me help," Haruki said, starting to stand.
