Chapter 57 - OPRS: Chapter 57

"How could they be so fast?!" This was the question puzzling most pirates.

Their reloading speed was unbelievable!

While they knew some in the Grand Line used repeating rifles, those were in the latter half.

How could they be here?

Only Van Augur, who had been sniping with Mihar, understood.

These revolutionaries' observation skills were fundamentally different from a sniper's. Before firing, Van Augur had seen their four ranks. The first two ranks were the ones firing, and even after the shots, he could see through the smoke that the first two ranks hadn't moved, but the third and fourth ranks had stepped forward, bypassing the reloading first two ranks in two seconds. Then, on command, the third and fourth ranks fired, despite not seeing through the smoke.

Was the person on the high ground their guiding spirit?

A pity, but the opponent wasn't bad either.

Van Augur regretted it slightly, but this enemy was interesting, perfectly to his liking, so he didn't bother changing targets.

In a team battle, he would have immediately targeted that person, but now, he was alone, enjoying the fight.

Even if he lost, he could surrender. What else could happen?

He had seen their mercy; otherwise, they wouldn't have let the pirates surrender before the fight.

Most pirates wouldn't be so courteous.

He was enjoying the fight; the pirates' lives were none of his concern, nor his opponent's.

His opponent was so strong, he didn't believe the rest of their team were weaklings.

"Perhaps today is a crossroads of fate," he smiled, muttering to himself.

"Don't joke around, you trash!" A figure burst into the revolutionaries' ranks, sending several flying with internal injuries.

The revolutionaries were helpless against him. His strength and speed were maximized in the smoke. In seconds, ten were sent flying, breaking their formation.

The intruder, knowing they couldn't use their muskets without harming their comrades, fought wildly, contemptuously sending the revolutionaries flying.

But the revolutionary pirates had strong fighters.

Ace, without Alistair's command, charged into the smoke.

A second later, he kicked someone out.

The kick was powerful, nearly deforming the man's face. He twisted his jaw.

"Prepare!" Alistair didn't bother with him, raising his hand and slashing down. "Fire!"

The man sneered, his legs springing, charging towards Alistair.

But Ace burst from the smoke again, punching him in the abdomen mid-air, sending him flying sideways instead of towards Alistair.

Hit twice, the man couldn't ignore Ace. Covered in blood, he climbed from the ruined building, realizing the revolutionaries had strong fighters. He couldn't approach Alistair without defeating Ace. He glared at Ace, wiping his nose, "Who are you?"

"Shouldn't you introduce yourself before asking for someone else's name?" Ace chuckled, unwilling to waste words.

Blood stained the man's face, his expression savage. "Remember, Bellamy the Hyena is the one who'll kill you!"

His legs sprang, and he charged at Ace.

"Devil Fruits are strong, but over-reliance makes you predictable…"

Ace easily dodged, his arm sweeping, and Bellamy slammed into his arm, nearly breaking his neck with his own momentum.

"Such a predictable attack, don't be ridiculous."

This wasn't the Bellamy of three years later, nor the Ace from the original story.

Ace, with Observation Haki, easily "heard" Bellamy's attack and defeated him effortlessly.

Devil Fruits were powerful, but over-reliance wasn't good.

Looking at the unconscious Bellamy, Ace adjusted his hat.

This guy's attacks were similar to Luffy's, though Luffy's wouldn't be so direct.

He worried about his brother.

The Grand Line had too many strong people, exciting him.

Ace smiled, dragging Bellamy towards the battlefield.

Though the front line was disrupted, it created crossfire. The pirates, seeing a weakness, charged, but suffered heavier casualties.

They were driven back by the crossfire.

"Damn it, their firepower is too strong! They're only a hundred people!"

Mock Town had at least three or four hundred pirates.

But being blocked and beaten by a hundred people, their morale plummeted.

"I'm not going to die!" Pirates ran towards other exits.

"You idiots! Leaving the town doesn't mean leaving the island!"

Smarter pirates shouted, but the fools were too many. Pirates fled, causing even the smarter ones to waver.

They were still just ordinary people.

"Are they here for me… They don't look like Marines…" A young woman, lightly clad, peeked cautiously from behind a building, watching the neatly formed revolutionary pirate ranks, breathing rapidly.

Whatever, I'll leave this place first!
