Chapter 59 - OPRS: Chapter 59

Nico Robin's judgment was correct; by the time the Spade Pirates' elite finished clearing the town, the battle was over.

Those with Observation Haki, accompanied by the musketeers, searched houses for hidden pirates, while the Spade Pirates' elite scouted the town.

Others carried out the cleanup in an orderly manner.

This was why Alistair chose Mock Town—a small-scale war. Despite being outnumbered (a hundred against over five hundred pirates), discipline, tactics, and coordination secured victory.

In Marineford, if Whitebeard's crew had a unit like this, their superior combat capabilities would have allowed them to focus on the Admirals and Vice Admirals, without worrying about their comrades.

The biggest difference between Whitebeard's crew and the Marines was the uneven combat strength of their basic soldiers. The strongest could fight Admirals, while the weakest couldn't withstand even a Rear Admiral.

Alistair's training avoided early confrontations with elite Marines and focused on lessons learned from battle.

Groups of pirates were bound and thrown into the square, flanked by the musketeers.

Any movement would result in a massacre.

They had witnessed this before, and now, demoralized, they had no desire to fight, only to escape.

The wounded were being treated systematically. The revolutionaries separated the wounded by severity, sending the seriously injured to the ship for surgery, while lightly injured were treated on-site. Only after treating their own wounded did they attend to the pirates.

The pirates, thinking they would be executed, struggled fiercely. But after being treated, they felt gratitude—many pirate ships lacked cooks and doctors. On the battlefield, having a friend bandage their wounds was already exceptional. The revolutionaries' treatment was far superior.

It was professional.

People were fickle.

If weaker individuals had treated them, they would have been arrogant.

But being defeated and then treated, they felt gratitude, not resentment.

The mercy of the strong was more awe-inspiring than the compassion of the weak.

Alistair's skill in handling pirates grew. Surgery was now entrusted to talented individuals. Given the strong physiques of the One Piece world—Alistair's surgeries, lacking forceps and cotton, with patients surviving over 1500ml blood loss and still expressing support—he confidently delegated.

After treating their own, they treated the seriously injured pirates.

These pirates might not survive due to poor sanitation.

But without treatment, they certainly wouldn't survive. They made it clear they weren't dissecting, but saving them.

For fairness and transparency, they performed surgery in the square.

This was terrifying.

Four or five doctors surrounded a pirate with a chest wound, binding his limbs to prevent struggling, then opening his chest cavity to sew him up.

The scene was horrifying; they seemed like evil people toying with the dead.

Nico Robin, upon arrival, witnessed this horrific scene.

Humans were being cut open, their cries of agony echoing.

Without anesthesia, those conscious saw their own bodies being cut open, turning the scene into a hellish spectacle.

But Nico Robin was even more surprised.

"This is surgery… an advanced treatment method. I've only seen this in large cities… They're performing surgery in the open?" Nico Robin followed Masked Deuce, surprised by the revolutionaries' actions.

"What choice do we have? We lack everything—experience, technique, tools, medicine. Saving them improves our medical skills, preventing mistakes when treating our own. Those who survive are lucky; those who don't, unlucky." Masked Deuce shrugged.

Nearby revolutionaries glared at him; his statement was heartless and inhumane.

But Nico Robin knew this was their true intention—they were using the pirates as practice.

What's most important in medicine?

Theoretical knowledge? Experience? Neither. It's real-life cases that provide lessons, leading to improvement.

Without hands-on experience, you can't accurately diagnose a patient's problem.

Only with enough cases can you master wound treatment.

The selected revolutionaries lacked combat ability but possessed medical skills. They would train with the army but focus on medicine. They were the revolutionary army's first logistical personnel.

Alistair hadn't fully categorized them yet, but the beginnings were there.

Taking Mock Town was expected, but finding Nico Robin was a surprise. She hadn't joined Crocodile yet?
