Kyren didn't answer right away. He leaned back against the edge of the desk, arms crossed, gaze sharp but not unkind.
"I don't need to check mine.."
Silke scoffed, tilting his head. "Because you've given up or because you're scared of the results?"
That got a twitch at the corner of Kyren's mouth. But it wasn't quite a smile.
"Little bit of both."
Silke hummed, not surprised. "Then don't pretend like you're some authority on self-care."
"I'm not..." Kyren said, then shrugged. "But I do care about someone who's clearly not taking care of himself either."
Silke arched a brow. "If you're about to make this about Seram...."
"I'm just saying..." Kyren cut in, holding his hands up slightly, "you've got someone now who might want a future with you. That's all. It wouldn't hurt to start taking better care of yourself..."
Silke didn't respond. His jaw tensed, but his shoulders dropped a little.
"You think I don't know what's at stake?" he said quietly.
