Chapter 82 - [82] There’s Always a Price to Pay!

Yuhara's expression darkened slightly as he looked at the severed arm on the ground. His mood was far from pleasant.

He was sure his slash had hit Uchiha Itachi, but whether that guy was actually dead was still a question.

As an enemy, Yuhara wouldn't concern himself with him, but what he cared about were his eyes.

Right now, he only had one of them, but there was still another eye on that guy.

Clearly, Yuhara had underestimated Obito and underestimated his survival abilities.

"Hmph!"

Letting out a cold snort, Yuhara's chakra rippled rapidly, and the black-flame dragon that was about to pounce on him suddenly dissipated into sparks the moment it reached him, vanishing behind him without causing any harm.

Taking a deep breath, Yuhara quickly adjusted his mindset and even revealed a faint smile.

"Dead or alive, you no longer bear the name Uchiha.

If you're alive, then hide in the gutter like a rat and watch.

Watch as the things you believed in collapse, watch as the Uchiha you wanted to destroy rise, watch as your most trusted Hokage and your beloved brother hate you with every fiber of their being!

And if you're dead, then I'll just get your eye back from Obito later."

Yuhara couldn't be sure if Uchiha Itachi was still alive, but he didn't care. As far as he was concerned, the guy was already as good as dead.

He didn't know if his Void Walk could directly teleport into Obito's dimension.

Otherwise, he might've gone to confirm and even snatch the eye.

But even if he followed Obito's Kamui when it connected the two spaces, he didn't dare rush in.

Who knew if once he entered, Obito would just shut the dimension and trap him? He wasn't about to risk his life just to disable Obito's Kamui.

Besides, Yuhara also wondered—if that guy was really dead, wasn't it too easy on him?

In the original story, what he did was downright infuriating. Even though he expressed regret when resurrected by Edo Tensei, his regret couldn't bring back the innocent lives he'd taken.

Letting him live to see his beliefs collapse, to be hated by those who once loved him—

Even to make the entire Konoha see him as an enemy, so that everything he did and believed in became meaningless—that would be the best punishment!

And Yuhara never intended to just let him off the hook. If he was dead, his eyes would be reclaimed; if alive, his life would be left to suffer.

"Clan Head…"

Just then, Shisui and Uchiha Fugaku came over, looking somewhat guilty and ashamed.

They had clearly seen the moment the mysterious man rescued Uchiha Itachi—and that man was their enemy.

One could say this mess was on them, even though that mysterious man had used space-time ninjutsu and kept evading illusions.

But a ninja's profession was all about success or failure; no one cared how difficult or painful the process was—only the result mattered.

"Our mission failed. Please punish us, Clan Head." The two exchanged a glance and bowed their heads simultaneously.

"Alright, now's not the time to talk about this, and it's not your fault."

Yuhara shook his head slightly, clearly not intending to dwell on it.

"I noticed that guy can use space-time jutsu—it's definitely hard to deal with him. It's not your fault."

Space-time dōjutsu was indeed an extremely overpowered ability. It was no wonder they had no way to deal with Obito.

But Yuhara also noticed that Obito seemed unwilling to meet their eyes—did he know something or was he just wary of two Mangekyō users' genjutsu?

Either way, with Obito gone, there was nothing Yuhara could do.

"Clan Head, I think I've figured out some of his information." Uchiha Fugaku was the first to speak. "Next time we face him, I think we can handle him better."

"Is that so?" Yuhara raised an eyebrow, looking a little surprised, then nodded seriously.

He recognized Fugaku's combat strength. Back then, Fugaku had gone easy on him in their fight—after all, he had wanted to die.

But unfortunately, Fugaku's dōjutsu was genjutsu, which Yuhara completely countered.

If he hadn't used dōjutsu, Yuhara might not have won so easily.

"Clan Head, that guy is a bit weird."

At that moment, Shisui spoke too, his expression somewhat grave.

"I tried using my right eye's Kotoamatsukami to control him, but he seemed completely immune to my control.

When I used my left eye's Kotoamatsukami to control him outright, he immediately fought back.

He seemed to use our clan's secret technique Izanagi, and after that, he never looked me or Fugaku in the eyes again."

So that's what happened! Yuhara finally understood why Obito had been so cautious—Shisui had tried to use his genjutsu on him and got caught.

Yuhara didn't know why Uchiha Itachi hadn't mentioned Shisui's Mangekyō ability—maybe Itachi didn't know?

In that situation, Obito was forced to use Izanagi to survive.

Plus, he was missing one Mangekyō, so his field of vision had a blind spot.

So when he noticed Uchiha Itachi was in trouble, he quickly rescued him and escaped.

Yuhara shook his head lightly, not planning to dwell on it. Just as he was about to turn around, he noticed that severed arm on the ground.

At first, he hadn't paid attention to it at all. But now he noticed something off—it wasn't the normal color of a human arm but a creepy pale white!

Seeing that, Yuhara suddenly realized something—he couldn't be sure whether he had actually cut off Obito's or Itachi's arm.

But now he was certain that it was Obito's arm—and that it was the one with White Zetsu fused to it!

Taking a deep breath, Yuhara forced himself to calm down. He knew this wasn't the time to think about it—he had more important things to do.

He quickly pulled out a scroll from his ninja pouch—he'd come prepared for battle—and sealed the severed arm inside it.

Once done, he stood up, and when all the clan members gathered around, he spoke.

"Everyone saw what happened tonight. Although the clan traitor escaped, as he said himself, he didn't come alone!

Surveillance shows there were other people—possibly Root or ANBU—waiting outside our territory.

It's clear that everything tonight was premeditated, with hidden figures involved."

Yuhara paused for a moment, then turned his gaze to Uchiha Sō and Uchiha Takechi, who looked especially grim.

"Elders, please prepare all the surveillance data from tonight. I need complete records of everything—those guys outside and everything that happened here."

"Yes, Clan Head!" The two elders nodded immediately and quickly headed to the surveillance room.

"Shisui, consolidate all of the clan's combat forces."

Once the elders left, Yuhara looked at Shisui and Uchiha Fugaku.

"Fugaku, get the elderly and young to the shelter, and coordinate with Shisui on how many people to leave behind for protection.

Once that's handled, Shisui, bring your people and meet me. Fugaku, I need you to find the Nine Tails."

After finishing, Yuhara ignored their somewhat surprised expressions and walked toward the clan gates with his ninja blade.

As he walked, he spoke softly—just loud enough for Shisui and Fugaku to hear.

"Whoever attacked me tonight—and whoever worked with the clan traitor—will pay the price.

I never wanted to oppose Konoha, but tonight, someone will pay!"

Shisui and Uchiha Fugaku exchanged a glance, then both responded with unwavering determination.

"Yes, Clan Head!"
