Danzo—this guy was the epitome of a cunning, self-serving opportunist.
He always claimed everything was "for Konoha," yet time and time again he'd betrayed Konoha's interests for his own.
Most of what he did was for himself, driven by a single ambition: to become Hokage.
For that so-called dream, he'd sacrifice Konoha's well-being and do whatever it took to eliminate anyone standing in his way.
He'd even dared to plot assassinations against Sarutobi Hiruzen—he was a madman trapped in his own delusions.
In his past life, Yuhara had never liked this guy. After crossing into the world of Naruto and becoming an Uchiha, that dislike had only grown.
Yuhara figured that even if he'd been born into any other Konoha clan, he'd never have liked Danzo.
He casually flicked the blood from his ninja blade and locked his gaze on Danzo, his killing intent uncontrollable.
Beside him, Shisui drew his own short sword, his eyes spinning with the Mangekyō, though his aura couldn't compare to Yuhara's.
Shisui had expended a lot of energy—he'd used Kotoamatsukami in both eyes during his battle with Obito, so he couldn't match Yuhara's "cheat-level" endurance.
Yuhara wondered idly just how long Shisui's left-eye Kotoamatsukami cooldown actually was.
If it wasn't too long, he'd really like to have Shisui hit Sarutobi Hiruzen with a "self-destruct" Kotoamatsukami!
But that was just wishful thinking—Shisui would probably never agree to that.
"Hm?"
Suddenly, Yuhara's eyes narrowed as a surge of chakra flared around him. A moment later, countless black-clad Root shinobi appeared.
They'd used other tunnels and Body Flicker Technique to get here, quickly surrounding Danzo and blocking Yuhara and Shisui's path.
But just then, the elite Uchiha forces also arrived, filling the spacious Root outer chamber with a suffocating tension.
"Looks like we really do have a debt to settle."
Danzo, hidden among his men, felt safer—no risk of Yuhara's space-time jutsu getting to him. He snorted coldly and barked out an order: "Kill these traitors!"
At his command, some Root shinobi charged Yuhara while others lunged toward Shisui and his group.
Danzo himself retreated from the room, not wanting to stay any longer.
With that, the entire room erupted into chaos and slaughter.
The bloodthirsty scent filled the air, thick and suffocating.
In this melee, the Uchiha held an advantage—these were all elites with Sharingan, and their perception was top-notch.
But even so, the Uchiha didn't have the numbers to match Root's forces, and those allowed into Root were all formidable—even the reserves.
"Think you can trap me like this?"
Though Danzo was heavily guarded and focused, Yuhara knew rushing in with Void Walk might get him stuck.
But that didn't mean he had no way to handle Danzo—Yuhara was ambitious and had always understood one thing:
Peace is won through battle!
This strike against Root was a golden opportunity—Danzo had handed it to him on a silver platter. Yuhara would use this to show all of Konoha that the Uchiha were not to be trifled with.
His goal was to let Root gather, even let outsiders arrive, then strike all at once!
"After all, you're no Hokage—and the other clans hate you more than you realize, don't they?"
But now the reserves had arrived, and the Hokage and others would soon be here. Yuhara knew he had to speed things up!
He casually cut down a Root shinobi who'd charged at him, sidestepped another attacker, and looked upward.
Charging head-on might risk hitting allies, but that didn't mean he couldn't find another way.
Before, he might have had no options—but now he had that terrifying black flame.
He had confidence that with a surge of chakra, he could blow this place open!
He drew a deep breath, swept his blade to scatter a few would-be attackers, and leapt high into the air.
A bright blue chakra shielded him as he hovered above.
His hands flew through seals, vast chakra swirling within him.
Ignoring the kunai and jutsu raining down, his eyes locked on the ceiling.
"Stay sharp—he might use space-time ninjutsu. Watch for his ambushes!"
Danzo, who'd retreated to the outer perimeter, barked orders to his men. The pain in his severed arm reminded him how dangerous Yuhara's abilities were.
He didn't dare relax—one slip and Yuhara could appear and cut him down.
He glanced back. In the moonlight, he saw the Root base teeming with people.
Some Root members flew out from the exits, some leapt free themselves, and even some Uchiha were pushed out.
But he didn't see Yuhara or Shisui, which made him breathe a little easier.
The Root base's defenses were top-notch—better than ANBU's, thanks to his caution.
With such defenses, Danzo could rest a bit easier, knowing that even with so many attackers, Yuhara couldn't just break through.
"And now Konoha's ninja have noticed—look at the lights everywhere, and the reinforcements coming this way."
Danzo scanned his surroundings. Konoha's lights shone brightly, and teams of shinobi were rushing toward the commotion.
With those reinforcements—even if they headed for the Hokage building first—he felt safer.
"Uchiha clan, tonight marks your end! Uchiha Yuhara, Uchiha Shisui—your eyes will be mine!"
As pain shot through his severed arm, Danzo growled with fury.
"Boom!"
Just then, a deafening explosion rocked the base. The ground trembled, and debris rained down.
The shockwave made Danzo's group stagger, their faces filled with shock. When they turned to look, they froze.
In the silver moonlight, countless Root shinobi were pouring out of the base.
Above it all, a massive black-and-white blazing dragon roared, its flames churning the air.
The searing heat swept over them, a suffocating wave of terror.
In that moment, it felt like they'd been plunged into hell itself.
