Chapter 260 -  Chapter 259: Ultimate Quintet

 Chapter 259: Ultimate Quintet

Under everyone's expectant gazes, the five Spellcaster Type Spirit Forms on Hayato's Field simultaneously extended their palms, facing Juzo opposite Hayato.

"Juzo, Duelist of the Psychic Flow, do you believe in Gravity?"

"Everything exists because of Gravity. It is precisely because of Gravity that you and I meet and Duel here, and victory will also come into my hands because of Gravity!"

Five Spellcaster Type Cards were one by one Banished by Hayato. Each time a Card was Banished, the Monster corresponding to that Card transformed into a mysterious Magic Circle suspended in the air. When all five Cards were Banished, only five Magic Circles remained on Hayato's Field. Immediately, the Magic Circles converged towards one point.

"I feel it, it's coming, I can already see victory arriving!"

"Hehehe, don't blink, this is the last Monster you'll ever see!"

Hayato flipped his hand, and a Fusion Monster Card appeared between his fingers. He placed it in the center of the five Monster Zones on his Duel Disk: "Level MAX! The ultimate physique! Descend, the ultimate quintet power! Quintet Magician!"

The powerful storm that had been brewing for a long time was finally unleashed at this moment. Amidst the surging violent currents, a figure appeared surrounded by the five Magic Circles. The instant Quintet Magician revealed its true form, the raging winds on the Field seemed to be paused, instantly calming down, suppressed by the terrifying Magic Power it released.

[Quintet Magician] [Level 12☆/DARK]

[Spellcaster Type/Fusion/Effect]

[4500/4500]

"Its Level is actually the highest Level 12☆, even surpassing the Gods?!" Even Ishizu Ishtar couldn't help but exclaim. Although Level doesn't represent everything, a Monster with a Level as high as 12☆ couldn't possibly be weak.

"Level 12☆!?" Juzo's face also grew solemn, and he forced himself to say, "Even if the Level is that high, it's still just a Monster with a mere 4500 ATK. Even if it Destroys my Psychic King by Battle, it will only Inflict 1900 Damage to me."

Hayato, however, calmly shook his head: "Your premise is wrong. That would only happen if Psychic King actually still existed on your Field, wouldn't it?"

"When Quintet Magician is Fusion Summoned using five different Spellcaster Type Monsters, the ultimate quintet power is released."

"Destroy all Cards on the opponent's Field, Spell Cards, Traps, Monsters, all of them!"

"Nani!!"

Ignoring Juzo's look of disbelief, Hayato raised his hand and snapped his fingers, and Quintet Magician synchronized its action with Hayato, snapping its fingers at the same time to withdraw the Magic Power it had previously released.

The airflow that had formed during the Fusion Summon lost the suppression of Quintet Magician's Magic Power, and the fierce wind returned. In an instant, the sky darkened, sand and stones flew, as if the end of the world had arrived.

Psychic King and Psychic Boundary Bouncer simultaneously released their most powerful Psychic Power, attempting to stop the storm from descending. However, facing this man-made natural disaster, the resistance of the two Monsters was completely futile. The fierce wind swept through everything. In just an instant, the storm abruptly calmed down again.

However, Juzo's Field had become as empty as the Wallet of a salaryman with no savings habits the night before payday.

"Enter the Battle Phase, Quintet Magician performs a Direct Attack, Gaia Energy Cannon!"

Although the name of the move Hayato used was "Energy Cannon", Quintet Magician simply snapped its fingers as it had before. A tide of Magic Power surged, transforming into an invisible impact that directly struck Juzo.

"Ugh!" Although it wasn't a Dark Game, the simulated impact from the Virtual Projection Device caused Juzo to cry out in pain.

[Juzo: 4900 → 400 LP]

However, even though his Life Points were reduced to just 400 by Hayato's single Attack, Juzo began to laugh.

Although no one asked him "Why is the Prime Minister laughing?", Juzo spoke to himself: "Your Attack ends here, right? No matter how powerful your Quintet Magician is, it's just a normal Duel Monster and can only Attack once. Hahahaha, what about your initial promise? A stretcher, bah, ending the Duel this Turn?"

"Who says you can't defeat someone without a Monster Attack?" Hayato drew a Card from his Hand and placed it on his Duel Disk.

"Although I currently have the Card Spiritual Energy Absorption in my Hand, unfortunately, Quintet Magician has a mandatory Effect that prevents it from being Tributed. However, I Activate the Spell Card, Goblin Thief!"

"I'll steal 500 Life Points from you!"

In Duelist Kingdom, there were cards that couldn't use effects that simply caused fixed damage, such as Thunder and Fireball these types of cards, but such as Just Desserts which Inflict Damage based on the opponent's Card count, Ring of Destruction which Destroys a Monster and splits the ATK as Damage, and Hayato's Goblin Thief were permitted.

But in Duel City, under the New Rules announced by Kaiba, Cards that simply Inflict Damage were allowed.

A bloated, obese Goblin with a floral cloth wrapped around its head, dressed like a standard Thief from a TV show, ran up to Juzo, reached out and grabbed an orb of light, taking away his last Life Points.

[Hayato: 2300 → 2800 LP]

[Juzo: 400 LP → 0]

Having not been Tributed due to its powerful Protection, Quintet Magician on Hayato's Field also seemed to let out a sigh of relief. After an elegant snap of its fingers, it disintegrated, turning back into the five Spellcaster Type Monsters from before the Fusion, and then gradually disappeared from the Field as the Virtual Projection Device shut down.

Hayato glanced at the System. Because he had Dueled twice consecutively, the Settlement from the Duel with Rex Raptor and this one were combined. First, there were the usual DP Points, totaling 1000 points, no more, no less.

Although he had obtained a Curse of Amanojaku from Rex Raptor through Ante, the System's Card drops were calculated separately. Rex Raptor also conveniently gave Hayato a Quick-Play Spell Card specifically for Machine Type, Limiter Removal. Unfortunately, Hayato's Machine Type Monsters were only XYZ and a few Union Monsters he got from opening Card Packs.

As for Juzo, although his Dueling Strength was clearly much greater than Rex Raptor's, Card drops depended purely on luck, not strength. This guy didn't leave anything for Hayato.

However, just because the System didn't give anything didn't mean Hayato gained nothing.

Walking up to Juzo, who was sitting on the ground unable to accept reality, Hayato had no goodwill towards Juzo, who had tried to step on him to climb higher. Without any politeness, he pulled the entire Deck from the Duel Disk on Juzo's wrist.

However, because Ishizu Ishtar and Samejima, two people he knew, were nearby, Hayato couldn't go too far. He could only regretfully choose one Gravity Blaster from Juzo's Deck to add to his collection, returning the rest of the Cards.

Of course, besides Rare Cards, the Puzzle Cards couldn't be forgotten either.

Hayato, full of joy, took the Puzzle Card from the unwilling Juzo, then took out the three he had on hand.

Samejima and Juzo, both defeated by Hayato, were arguing about whether Cyber Style or Psychic Flow was stronger. The air between them was thick with tension, looking as if they were about to fight at any second. Meanwhile, Ishizu Ishtar walked up to Hayato, looked at the Puzzle Cards in his hand, and asked, "Hayato-kun, what's wrong with the Puzzle Cards?"

"Nothing, just bad luck, I got duplicates again," Hayato sighed, holding two identical pairs of Puzzle Cards in each hand.

"As long as you collect six Puzzle Cards, you'll know the location of the next stage of the tournament," Kaiba had indeed said that, and it seemed the Condition was to win five Duels. However, after stacking all four of his Puzzle Cards together, Hayato realized he had thought too simply.

There were a total of six types of Puzzle Cards. Although Hayato had four in his hand, two pairs were identical, meaning he only had two types of Puzzle Cards in total. Unlike the Star Chips in Duelist Kingdom, which were universal for everyone, collecting duplicate Puzzle Cards in Duel City was completely useless.

Hayato had originally thought that an afternoon would be enough time to collect the Puzzle Cards, but the high rate of duplicates reminded him of his tragic experiences with gacha systems in various mobile games in his previous life.

"Ishizu Ishtar, I think we need to split up next. You want to participate in Duel City too, right?" Hayato put away the Puzzle Cards, frowning as he watched Samejima and Juzo start a Duel, not betting Puzzle Cards or Rare Cards, but the Dignity of their respective Styles. "If so, we need to speed up the collection of Puzzle Cards."

"Besides, I think—"

Hayato had just spoken a sentence when a loud Dragon Roar suddenly came from a distance. Everyone else seemed not to hear it, but only Hayato and Ishizu Ishtar had to cover their ears.

Juzo and Samejima's Duel had already begun. Samejima hadn't heard the Dragon Roar clearly. He looked around, left and right, and saw that Juzo's expression was normal. He somewhat suspected he had imagined it.

Ishizu Ishtar noticed Hayato looking at her and nodded, confirming that she could also hear the Dragon Roar. Hayato also nodded in response.

Hayato found the roar quite familiar, and combined with the fact that most people couldn't hear it, Hayato had a guess about the source of the Dragon Roar. Without waiting for Ishizu Ishtar to say anything, Hayato hurriedly ran towards the direction of the sound, waving his hand without looking back as he ran, saying:

"Let's part ways here, Ishizu Ishtar. See you in the Quarterfinals!"

This chapter is a bit of a digression.

The first part of Yu-Gi-Oh! is a story centered around relics passed down from ancient civilizations. The Male Lead and his rival (who caused his own father's death) are linked together as if by Destiny. In the end, the Male Lead's soul returns to the Underworld.

The second part of Yu-Gi-Oh! is a story centered around a protagonist with great luck. The protagonist has a lively personality and dislikes studying hard, but inherits the will of the Male Lead from the first part.

The third part of Yu-Gi-Oh! is a story centered around a cool Male Lead. The protagonist group originally had five people, but later another character was added. Among the group members, there are those who play with vines and those who breathe fire.

The fourth part of Yu-Gi-Oh! is a story centered around a neighborhood boy with a terrible haircut and his strange blue Spirit Form behind him. They gain companions while battling and recover items that can grant people abilities. In the final battle, many people were supposed to die, but in the end, no one died.

The fifth part of Yu-Gi-Oh! is a story centered around a protagonist who plays with small animals and has great ideals. He joins an organization led by a male secondary character. The boss's goal is to recover a pink-haired woman, and the plan is related to his daughter. For some reason, the Male Lead can Summon a certain Requiem.

So, the name of this anime is...
