Chapter 76 - Storm; At The Dock and Behind Closed Doors

The skies over Greystone Port bled gray and thick, and though it was midday, the rain carved darkness into every corner. The docks were slick, the sea restless beneath the wooden planks. Carriages lined the muddy roads, the insignia of Eldhollow's Secretariat glinting faintly through the drizzle.

Lord Julian Ravenshade stepped out of his Ravenshade-carved black carriage, his boot striking the ground with regal weight. Drenched in his long coat, dark gloves, and perfectly composed scowl, he radiated aristocratic menace.

Rhys Glenshade was already waiting, his coat tight at the collar, standing before a group of port officers who looked like they'd rather be anywhere else.

"Good day to you too, Rhys Glenshade," Julian finally said, eyes cold.

"What does Greystone dock owe the pleasure of hosting Lord Ravenshade?" Rhys replied, attempting a thin smile.

Julian's gaze swept over the dock, unreadable.
