"Yeah… but what do you think I should call myself?" the copy of Su Chen asked, scratching his head awkwardly.
Su Chen squinted at him. "Huang Wu. Sounds cool, doesn't it?"
"Huang Wu?" The copy blinked. "Hmm… not bad. Actually, even if we drop the 'Wu' and just go with 'Huang,' it still sounds powerful. 'Huang'—rising emperor… feels majestic."
Su Chen rolled his eyes. "Bro, it's your name, not a title for a cultivation drama. Do whatever you want."
But the next moment, his expression turned serious. Without speaking aloud, he began communicating with Huang Wu directly through their thoughts.
They were capable of silent communication—something that required caution.
Huang Wu immediately understood and gave a small nod.
Su Chen didn't explain much, but the reason he spoke telepathically was simple—he had a gut feeling. The more he looked back at everything that had happened, the clearer it became: none of this was a coincidence. At first, he'd thought he was just lucky. But now… from his arrival in this place, to the immortal tree offering its fruit so easily—everything felt orchestrated.
With his experience, he could smell a hidden hand behind it all. A scheme.
But he didn't tell Huang Wu the whole thing.
Why?
Because if someone had really orchestrated all this, then that someone might also be watching. Listening.
And Su Chen, despite being shameless at times, wasn't stupid.
Sometimes, silence was the loudest scream.
[Ding! System update complete.]
[Opening system interface…]
A half-transparent blue screen appeared before Su Chen's eyes, floating silently in the air.
[New Feature Unlocked: Sub-System Link]
[Details: When the host receives a reward or choice from the system that he finds unsatisfactory, it can now be transferred to the sub-body — Huang Wu.]
[Note: Huang Wu cannot participate in any system-issued choices, and even if he completes a task independently, no rewards will be issued to him.]
[Exception: The last task offered by the system will apply to both bodies.]
Su Chen read through the update in a single glance.
His face twitched.
"…Tch. So I can't even scam my own system now?" he muttered under his breath.
In his mind, he cursed, Damn it. I really thought I could cheat the system a little... and complete the two-option tasks using both bodies. But it looks like that's no longer possible. This damn thing is one step ahead!
Still, his eyes gleamed faintly.
Well… at least I still get the final reward, no matter what. That's something.
He focused again as the system screen refreshed, With a sigh, he waved his hand to bring up his updated Status Panel:

Su Chen stared at the panel for a while, rubbing his chin.
After checking his status, Su Chen gave a small nod, then turned his attention to Huang Wu.
"Since you're the one going to receive the inheritance, then go ahead. After you get it and complete the task, I'll transfer the reward to you through the sub-system," Su Chen said through their mental link. "In the meantime, I'll stay here and cultivate in this immortal pond."
Huang Wu, who was also staring at his own sub-system screen, nodded silently.
Then he stood up.
The cocoon he had been sitting in suddenly burst with radiant light. Su Chen narrowed his eyes, thinking it would disappear like his own had earlier. But to his surprise, the light wrapped itself around Huang Wu's body—morphing into an elegant, glowing robe.
"…Huh?" Su Chen blinked.
Then his face darkened.
"F*ck! You son of a—why didn't you turn into a robe when it was me?!"
He shouted so loudly that birds in the distance scattered.
Huang Wu chuckled, clearly amused. "Maybe because I'm freshly created and the system still likes me?" he said calmly through their link.
"…I hate you," Su Chen muttered under his breath.
"Alright, I'm going," Huang Wu said, a faint smile on his face as he turned around.
With a soft swish, he flew toward the glowing entrance in the distance, his new robe fluttering behind him.
Su Chen also rose into the air, as he flew toward the center of the immortal pond.
At first, the idea of sitting and cultivating inside the pond hadn't even crossed his mind. But now, seeing the opportunity clearly, he wasn't about to waste it.
Hovering above the glowing water, he raised his hand, summoning his system storage.
A dark vortex—like a miniature black hole—formed beside him, silently pulling in the immortal pond's water.
Gluuuu-gluuuuu...
The water rippled violently as the vortex absorbed it at a steady pace. Within moments, a significant portion of the pond had been drained.
Only then did Su Chen stop, lowering his hand. The vortex disappeared instantly.
Carefully, he descended to the remaining center of the pond and sat in a lotus position.
"Sss…"
A soft breath escaped his lips as a deep, soothing warmth wrapped around him. The remaining immortal water gently lapped at his legs like living silk.
He closed his eyes and began circulating the Wood Sovereign Script.
Ancient runes shimmered faintly across his skin, pulsing with an ethereal green light.
Moments later, strands of immortal qi began rising slowly from the surface of the pond—like mist drawn toward a flame.
They spiraled around Su Chen's body, gradually entering through his acupoints as he began cycling his Twelve Meditation Paths.
His breathing slowed. His presence grew quiet.
And the entire world, for a moment, seemed to fall into a deep, serene silence.
[Dear readers,]
[Some of you have asked why I always leave a note at the end of each chapter. Well, it's because I see the story from a different angle — through your eyes.]
[Sometimes, you might laugh at a funny part, but I don't always feel that way since I've read it so many times. What feels exciting to you can feel a bit boring to me because I already know what's coming next.]
[That's why I really appreciate your feedback — it helps me see the story fresh again.]
[Thanks a lot for reading and supporting my story!]
[If you want, I can make it even more informal or more heartfelt—just say the word!]
