After Amelia was rushed out of the dining hall, most of the students, overcome with curiosity, followed behind Adrian. Hildr stayed in place and finished her glass of blood. She left the hall and began moving around the campus. She wanted to understand the layout of this place, just in case something were to happen. She spent over thirty minutes moving around, and in the end, she ended up outside Scarlet Hall. This was one of the dormitories on campus. This hall was even more luxurious than Aeterna Hall, to which Hildr had been assigned.
Hildr had not just randomly ended up here. She had come here with a plan in mind. Apart from joining Argonaut Academy for the Crown of the Endless, Hildr also had something else to deal with, and this was another of the reasons she had joined this academy instead of one of the other thirteen.
Hildr moved to enter the hall, and to her surprise, no one stopped her.
There were students coming and going at every moment.
None of them seemed to recognize her, but this was more than okay with Hildr.
She moved through the hall until she reached a dormitory labeled as number one.
She knocked for a few minutes, and when she was sure that there was nobody inside the room, her hand glowed with sol, making it look like an ice sculpture. She then grabbed the door knob and pushed the door with all her power. The door resisted for just a moment before it gave in.
Hildr entered the room as though she was not doing anything wrong, and all those that saw her did not suspect her of any wrongdoing. To them, it looked as though she had knocked and someone inside the room had opened the door.
Inside the room, Hildr went through several private rooms until she reached a room that had a picture of the person she was interested in. This was the picture of Anastasia Alexandrovna Volkonskaya. She is the crown princess of the Strigoi.
Anastasia is a beautiful young woman who is no older than twenty years old, making her very young since she is a Strigoi. Her mother is the current queen of the Strigoi and also the former Night Queen. This queen was the one that was defeated by King Harald, allowing him to become the Night King.
One would think that the feud between the Strigoi and the Draugr started with this defeat, but they would be wrong since the Strigoi and the Draugr have been at each other's throats for as long as anyone could remember.
The woman in the picture was fair, graceful, taller than most women, with a slender body that made her look like the finest model. She had red eyes and long golden hair. Not blonde hair or anything else, but real golden hair.
Her facial features were perfectly defined, giving her a regal appearance. One would think that she would be lacking in other areas, but this was not the case as she had a full chest, and from what Hildr could see, she had a very appealing butt with a small waist.
Hildr spent over thirty minutes just looking at this picture.
A few months ago, Hildr had suddenly been bonded to someone she did not know.
This bond could not be broken, and so Hildr had to come up with ways to deal with it.
She had discussed the matter with her father, and they had agreed that among the Otherkind, there was only one person who could possibly be bonded to her, and that was Anastasia Alexandrovna Volkonskaya.
When Hildr was bonded to someone else by the fates, she had gotten glimpses of the person. Even though these images had not been too clear, Hildr could still remember the golden hair, and this was the reason Hildr and her father had settled on the other person being from the Strigoi royal family.
They were the only ones with the power needed to bond with Hildr, especially Anastasia, who was even referred to as the saviour of the Strigoi. She had been born with great power, and when she was tested and found to be in the Legendary Realm of power, the Strigoi had immediately released these results. The tests Anastasia had recently gone through had already confirmed this fact.
The other reason Hildr thought that she was bonded to this Strigoi was because the fates were prone to doing things like this in order to maintain peace among the Otherkind. The fates would bond future leaders from feuding factions in hopes that these bonds would restore peace.
It was therefore reasonable that the fates would bond Hildr, the future queen of the Draugr and also the Night Queen, to Anastasia, the Queen of the Strigoi.
These bonds would serve the role of a marriage alliance, even though they were not meant for marriage since the two people involved were both female. Still, there were those that did not mind this fact and went on to get married after being bonded. The fact that they were of the same gender did not seem to be an issue. Hildr was sure that she would not fall in love with Anastasia.
She did not know why, but she did not much like this young woman.
Hildr continued going through everything in the room. She even read Anastasia's diary. Unfortunately, this was a new diary, and it had very few details.
When Hildr was about to complete going through the room, the door opened. Hildr had been too engrossed in learning more about Anastasia that she had forgotten that she was snooping.
Hildr sighed out loud, and the moment she turned around, her fears were proven correct. Anastasia stood in the doorway. Her red eyes were glowing with sol, and it was clear that she was on the verge of losing it.
"Let us discuss this like civilized people," Hildr tried to talk her way out of this situation, but she had never been good at talking things out.
Bang, with an explosion, Anastasia moved with killing intent that drowned the room.
Hildr did not just stay in place as well. She also moved to attack, and the two collided with so much force that the glass window shattered instantly.
An explosion of water and fire shook the hall, alarming all the student academy workers. Hildr and Anastasia both fell out of the hall through the window. They were on the second floor, and as they fell, they continued exchanging blows. Hildr was vicious in her actions. She brought out her claws and ripped into Anastasia's stomach, tearing flesh apart and ripping muscles into shreds.
Anastasia was not a walkover herself. She cried out in pain, but this did not stop her from biting into Hildr's neck with everything she had. She was not clean in her actions. After her teeth sunk into flesh, she ripped it out, leaving Hildr's neck in a mess.
Hildr manipulated gravity and moved above Anastasia. She then pushed the young girl with a powerful blast of power that sent her flying towards the earth with an even greater force.
Just before Anastasia hit the ground, a force suddenly appeared out of nowhere and stopped her descent. Still, she coughed out a mouthful of blood, and her eyes bulged out of her skull as though they would pop out at any moment.
Hildr stayed in the sky like some kind of fiend come to rip this young woman into pieces. She had not come to this hall to kill the young woman, but Anastasia's explosive temper and Hildr's merciless nature led them to this situation.
On the ground, Anastasia wiped the blood from her mouth as she stood up. Whoosh, she released her power, summoning fire from all over the place. She was covered in blue flames from head to toe. These flames spread out all over the compound with Anastasia as the center. She looked like a fire goddess come to cleanse this world.
Her golden hair moved with power and the will to render all to ash.
Strigoi were known for their powerful flames, and as the princess of the Strigoi, Anastasia's bloodline allowed her to show the true power of her people.
In the sky, Hildr smiled at the woman below her. Hildr understood that fighting against Anastasia out in the open would place her in the principal's crosshairs, but Hildr was a Draugr, a brutal being of the dark with violent tendencies. Right now, she threw her rationality to the side and descended like a river from the underworld. Wherever she passed, water manifested and followed her like a cloak that continuously grew longer.
Anastasia saw this power, but she was not too impressed. She was also a creature of the dark, and right now, she wanted to devour Hildr.
This feeling grew stronger the longer she looked at Hildr.
Boom, with an explosion of fire, Anastasia flew into the sky, and the two girls met each other in a collision that spread out all over the place, shattering trees and sundering the earth.
The whole academy was by now alerted to what was happening, and the students were already gathering to see what was happening.
