Chapter 57 - Anaxa's Fishing (Bonus Chapter)

Hearing Anaxa's words, Caenis smiled.

She knew that her purpose in coming here had already been achieved.

Anaxa was a paranoid individual, and a fellow who wouldn't mind doing anything for the sake of his research.

Unless Aglaea willingly allowed Derick to cooperate with Anaxa's research, the conflict between them could not be resolved.

Similarly, Aglaea was also a paranoid person.

She would absolutely not give Anaxa any chance.

Caenis was looking forward to joining forces with Anaxa, obtaining the technological support of the Grove of Epiphany's [Nousporists], and thereby overthrowing Aglaea's rule in one fell swoop. Just then, Anaxa's gaze turned to Caenis, and he continued:

"Compared to that Derick, I'm more interested in another."

"What?" Caenis was taken aback by Anaxa's words.

What else could Anaxa be more interested in?

"That pitch-black monster, its existence is even more important." Anaxa looked at Caenis. "It devoured Nikador himself. Nikador's Core Flame resides within its body. Its existence, and the way the Strife Titan's Core Flame exists within it, that's what's most worth caring about."

He casually took out a few papers and placed them on the table. Caenis picked one up and looked at it, finding that it was all information and data about the pitch-black creature. However, most of it was blank, followed by some conjectures, but those conjectures also stopped halfway.

There was too little information to support Anaxa's deductions.

"Are you asking me to find it?" Caenis asked.

"Of course. To achieve one's goals, one must always pay a price, mustn't one?" Anaxa's gaze fell upon Caenis, his tone brook no refusal.

"Find it, and help me capture it. If you can't do that, at least get a part of its tissue."

"Do you think finding that pitch-black monster is an easy task?" Caenis retorted. "You're not trying to use this as an excuse because you're afraid to go after Aglaea, are you?"

"I've said it before, your provocations are useless against me." Anaxa strode towards the outside.

"I will go to Okhema. As for what I'll do specifically, that will depend on your cooperation."

As he said this, he had already reached the doorway. After reaching the doorway, he looked at Caenis, who was staring at him with a look of exasperation, and said faintly, "Also, I'm about to leave. What are you still doing in my laboratory? If you want to conduct experiments, I suggest you start by learning the basics of the [Nousporists]."

After saying this, he looked at Caenis with a mocking gaze.

Looking at his eyes, Caenis suddenly felt that Aglaea's dislike for him was entirely justified. Compared to this fellow, Aglaea could even be considered gentle.

Caenis suppressed the urge to kill someone and quickly left Anaxa's room. As she passed by Anaxa, Caenis still suppressed her anger and said in a low voice:

"Hmph, if I fulfill your request, don't forget your promise."

She was still the one asking for a favor in this matter, so she still gave Anaxa some acknowledgment.

"But of course."

Anaxa and Caenis left the room.

Caenis left in a hurry, while Anaxa's gaze turned to the entire structure of the Grove of Epiphany and the scholars within.

"My message has been delivered. What will you do? I'm looking forward to it," Anaxa thought to himself.

The bait had been cast; now it was just a matter of waiting to see if It would take the hook.

In the closed room, a humanoid figure appeared in front of these documents.

A woman who looked to be in her twenties, with long, wavy flaxen hair, dressed in traditional Amphoreus-style clothing. A pair of deer antlers grew from her head, and her eyes appeared to be tightly closed.

She reached out her hand, and the documents floated in mid-air.

"A monster that devours Titans? What will it become? A new Titan, or?"

"To make the Flamechase Journey completely impossible to continue."

This was something even It was unsure about. At the same time, it was something she very much wanted to understand.

Looking at Anaxa, who was about to leave, It waved its hand gently. Then, an aura drifted towards Anaxa.

Soon, this thing landed on Anaxa's arm.

This was done so covertly that even Anaxa didn't notice this action.

Anaxa strode through the Grove of Epiphany. The scholars of the Grove of Epiphany, upon seeing Anaxa, either showed expressions of reverence and admiration, or looks of disdain and contempt. Many others didn't care what Anaxa was doing at all and continued with their own research.

Anaxa took it all in and then walked outside.

He was completely disdainful of this. Instead, upon reaching the area beneath the Grove of Epiphany and seeing the Dading Beasts used as transportation, he paused his steps.

"I'm going to Okhema. I might need to stay with those people for a while before I return."

After Anaxa said this, he then set off in the direction of Okhema.

...

On Okhema's training grounds, Derick, holding the Blade of Scourge, leaped up and slammed it down heavily.

Below him was Castorice. Seeing Derick swing the greatsword down with both hands, she held her scythe horizontally in front of her with her right hand, meeting the Blade of Scourge with a clash.

Castorice's feet slid back three or four steps before she stopped.

"Derick, the power within your body and the energy belonging to Nikador have increased considerably again," Castorice said happily.

After Phainon and Mydei left the city to search for Derick's clone, there was no one else to conduct combat training with Derick. Especially since Derick's power was still increasing dramatically each day, anyone training with him had to be of a certain skill level.

Originally, Mydei had planned to ask his teacher to help train Derick in combat skills, but at this time, Castorice spoke up, saying that she could help train Derick after finishing her work as an embalmer each day.

"But I'm still far behind you, Sister Castorice." Derick put away the Blade of Scourge and moved his sore arms.

Castorice wasn't very proficient in wielding a two-handed greatsword either. So she adopted the same method as Mydei.

Actual combat! By constantly fighting, Derick's combat skills would naturally be mastered.

Seeing his tired arms, Castorice couldn't help but speak.

"Come, Derick, sit in front of me. I'll give you a massage."

Although that day could be considered a successful confession, both of them were too shy to take the next step. So, until now, let alone sharing a bed, they hadn't even kissed.

Their daily physical contact was almost limited to massages after battles.

"Okay."

Derick nodded and then moved closer to Castorice.
