Chapter 2 - The Fisher Family

After some time, the brothers felt comfortable at their new home. One day, they sparred outside. However, an argument spewed between Stark and Hafen and led to a fight.

Stark rushed at Hafen, the oldest of the three.

Hafen, not able to react in time, was punched in the face. He was sent flying to a small tree.

The small tree, due to the impact, fell to the ground.

Matteo, the youngest of the trio, asked if he might have gone a little overboard on that last attack.

Stark replied that Hafen deserved it after what he said.

The smoke cleared as the broken tree branches were now floating in the air.

Stark smiled and exclaimed for Hafen to bring it on.

Matteo was shocked to see Hafen ready for round two.

Hafen appeared through the smoke with a cold stare and blood running down his nose as he sent the tree branches flying towards his siblings.

The two younger siblings braced themselves for the onslaught.

Matteo quickly dodged the branches as he made his way towards Hafen.

Stark, on the other hand, was getting hit by most of the branches. He was slowly getting closer to Hafen though like a tank.

Hafen took notice of this and backed away.

In the fight, Hafen displayed his telekinesis technique, Matteo displayed his super speed, and Stark displayed his super strength and defense.

Suddenly, their father, Henry, appeared between them with a face of disappointment. The branches fell to the ground.

The trio immediately stopped. Silence fell upon them.

Henry questioned what they were doing. He asked if that was how he taught them to train.

Stark replied that it was not, but that Hafen started it.

Hafen responded that he was lying. He continued that it was Stark's fault.

Henry turned his head downwards.

Matteo revealed that Hafen insulted Stark. Then, Stark punched him harder than he was supposed to.

Henry lifted his head and asserted that they were all at fault for it to escalate this much. He continued that it was disheartening that they didn't take accountability.

Hafen questioned how it was his fault.

Henry elaborated that he pushed the fight to start. He continued that Stark was not in control of his emotions. He pressed that Matteo joined the fight instead of stopping it.

Henry urged them to at least, take accountability for their actions instead of blaming each other. He mustered that conflict did not have to be sought after.

After that, Henry called the brothers into the house for dinner.

Inside, their mother, Adelia, prepared food with a baby in her arms.

They entered their home.

Adelia saw her sons bruised up. She approached her husband and asked what happened to them.

Henry replied that they got into a brawl between themselves.

After learning of the details, Adelia handed the baby to Henry and approached Hafen with a worn-out towel. She wiped the blood off his nose. She asked him if he was in pain.

Hafen muttered that he was fine. He winced in pain and moved away.

Adelia urged him to let her clean his face.

Stark and Matteo watched.

Adelia smiled and requested them to wash up for dinner.

After a mother's treatment, they proceeded to have dinner.

In the middle of dinner, Stark commented on the food, as he enjoyed the taste.

Matteo also expressed his delight.

Hafen, on the other hand, stayed silent.

Adelia, while serving food, asked Hafen if his food was not good.

Hafen muttered that he was just not hungry.

Henry munched and swallowed. He urged Hafen to eat his food and not to be wasteful.

Hafen continued to eat the food silently.

Stark and Matteo watched him.

After dinner, Hafen found Henry outside.

Henry sat on the porch of the house. He asked Hafen to sit next to him.

They sat in silence.

Henry looked at the sky. He explained that the moon was a lonely rock, and it was alone in the vast sky. He continued that it was beautiful because of the reflection of the light of the sun. He added that the moon was only able to shine because the sun allowed it to.

Henry looked at his son and pressed that Hafen should be grateful to have people who support him. He claimed that if Hafen kept pushing his support away, then, they would eventually leave him. He divulged that Hafen reminded him of his past self.

Back then, Henry thought that he had nothing left.

Henry admitted that he felt lost, and he felt like his life was meaningless. He explained that he almost gave up. However, his wife, Adelia, gave him a reason to keep living.

Henry also remembered two different kids. They were his sons by blood. Unfortunately, they were dead, long ago.

Henry concluded that his family was his strength. He asked if Hafen understood.

Hafen replied that he did. He stood up and left.

The next morning, Hafen met up with Stark and Matteo. He apologized to them and offered to work on something, together.

Stark and Matteo exchanged looks.

Matteo asked what it was.

Hafen remarked that Henry farmed all day. He revealed that he had an idea for an invention that would make his day easier.

Stark was eager, and he noted that Henry would have more time to train them.

Matteo questioned what they needed to do.

Hafen smirked, and they began.

Throughout the day, the three brothers worked together and built a massive contraption. They gathered wood and large, tough vines. Utilizing their strengths, they managed to finish it.

At the end of the day, they dragged Henry to its location.

Henry noticed it, and his eyes widened.

Hafen called it the dirt reaper.

Henry approached and muttered that it worked like a plough.

The brothers were surprised.

Stark corrected that it was the dirt reaper.

Matteo assumed that there was already one invented, and it was called a plough.

Henry coughed and asserted that Hafen and Stark were correct. He continued that it was not a plough, but its function and purpose was the same.

Henry turned around and hugged the three brothers. He thanked them for the dirt reaper.

The three brothers were glad.
