Chapter 60 - Chapter 60: A New World

Charles sat on a bench, holding a can of soda in his hand.

Feeling the fizz burst in his mouth and that familiar, distinctive sweetness, Charles was so moved he nearly burst into tears.

Passersby on the street instinctively avoided him, seeing Charles tearing up over an ordinary can of cola. What normal person would get this emotional just from drinking soda?!

In the first ten years after transmigrating, Charles had lived like a savage alongside Auston Igneel, and the next five or six years were spent in a world with a medieval level of civilization.

Charles had almost forgotten what "fat house water" tasted like—perhaps this was what people meant by "like a different lifetime."

However... looking at the modern-style high-rise buildings in front of him, Charles was certain he hadn't returned to the Fairy Tail world.

In the world of Black Clover, Charles and the others had defeated the Word Magic Devil, Zagred.

After that, using the magic "Tree of Souls" jointly cast by Licht and Vangeance, Asta was able to dispel the reincarnation magic from all the reincarnated elves in one go.

Previously, Rhya had set up resurrection magic inside the floating dungeon, and once activated, all the elves successfully resurrected using pre-prepared blank bodies.

But perhaps because Licht had once cast the highest-level forbidden magic, altering the essence of his soul, the resurrection spell didn't work on him.

However, for Licht, this ending might have been a good one—after all, his wife had been waiting for him in another world for five hundred years.

Having defeated the demonic culprit and witnessed the revival of the elf race, he could finally leave that world in peace.

As for Lumiere, he ultimately exhausted all his magic power and turned back into a statue at dawn, disappearing.

Compared to the original plot, the losses this time were significantly less. Although the royal castle was nearly flattened, the Magic Knights hadn't lost the public's trust.

This was thanks to the tacit understanding between the Magic Knights and the royal family to keep the truth hidden. They publicly claimed that the Magic Knights had completely defeated the Eye of the Midnight Sun in another attack on the capital.

And because the battle wasn't too large in scale, the Magic Knights didn't suffer many casualties.

Of course, Wizard King Julius had revived using the magic power stored in his magical device, though he had become a child again.

This outcome was much better than expected, and Charles could finally feel at ease preparing for the next transmigration.

After informing the others that he was going out for training, Charles for the first time actively activated "World Magic: World Travel!"

He had originally intended to return directly to the Fairy Tail world, but unexpectedly ran out of magic power halfway through.

The previous transmigration had occurred when the Celestial Spirit World's magic unintentionally triggered World Magic within the Eclipse Gate. But even though Charles and Farr, one person and one spirit, had accumulated magic power for a long time, it still didn't compare to the magnitude of magic back then.

Charles couldn't describe the strange sensation of using "World Travel"—it felt like flying through a sea of stars.

And through the information transmitted from the grimoire, each star represented a new world.

His original target was the star exuding a familiar aura, belonging to the Fairy Tail world. But halfway there, while still some distance away, Charles felt his magic power run out.

Left with no choice, Charles had to pick the closest star and descend. That's how he arrived in this world.

Charles then discovered that in this modern civilized world, the identity registration system was already very advanced, and it was extremely inconvenient to do anything without proper identification.

The distribution of nations in this world was quite similar to his previous life. At the moment, Charles found himself in what was this world's version of his home country.

From what he could tell, his homeland in this world was very similar to that of his previous life in terms of national strength, culture, and international status, though the history was somewhat different.

And it wasn't just his homeland—the histories of other countries had also changed considerably... the reason being that this world had magic and supernatural abilities.

For example, the newspaper in Charles's hand featured a headline on its largest page about the KOK League.

The KOK League—short for King of Knight League—was an international competition exclusive to those who possessed magic and took battle as their profession. It was the event most people paid attention to, and made the Olympics seem insignificant by comparison.

These individuals had different names in different countries—espers, martial artists, Sword Bearers… Though the titles varied, their essence was the same.

This setup felt oddly familiar to Charles. Flipping to the next page of the newspaper, he saw a photo of a young girl!

"'Strongest Magic Power in History Detected, The Crimson Princess of the Vermillion Kingdom!'"

Charles slowly read the headline. The news basically stated that, according to the International Magic Knights Alliance, the second princess of the Vermillion Kingdom, Stella Vermillion, possessed the strongest magic power ever recorded in human history.

The article even gave her the title of "Crimson Princess."

Charles didn't know just how powerful the princess's magic truly was, but based on his knowledge of magic theory, magic power was something that could grow through training.

Even if the Crimson Princess had incredible natural talent, being only eleven or twelve years old, there was no way she could surpass Sword Bearers who had trained for decades.

Unless the magic in this world was different from what he understood. However, seeing the information in the newspaper, Charles was reminded of a certain world.

"The world of Chivalry of a Failed Knight, huh!"

And… that was it. The only thing Charles could remember was the name.

It wasn't that his memory was failing, but rather that he had never read the original work. Apparently, Charles had heard that the plot was highly similar to another anime, so… he ended up not watching either of them.

If it weren't for the fact that the heroine had once been referred to as a "waifu" by one of his annoying friends, Charles wouldn't have remembered even the name.

Charles sighed. Knowing just this little bit—what good did it do?!

In the Black Clover world, Charles still knew some of the plot, so he had direction. But in this world, where he knew nothing at all, he had no idea what to do next.

Especially considering he was now an undocumented person with no legal identity—basic necessities like food, clothing, and shelter were already a problem.

Charles reached into his pocket and pulled out a handful of coins. This money, earned from "righting wrongs," wouldn't last long, and Charles could already feel a headache coming on.

The punks he ran into yesterday after arriving in this world must have been some sort of beginner's gift. But he couldn't keep relying on robbing guys like them to survive!

The happiness of drinking a soda didn't last long. Sitting on a park bench, Charles soon fell into a gloomy mood.

Just then, a pair of shoes appeared in his view.

They were old-fashioned cloth shoes, the kind Charles hadn't seen in a long time—not since his previous life. Curious who would wear shoes like that, Charles looked up.

Not only the shoes—the man's clothing was also quite antiquated. It resembled a traditional martial arts outfit, similar in style to a Tang suit, though made from plain cotton fabric rather than luxurious materials.

Then Charles saw the man's face. It was the most ordinary elderly face imaginable, with nothing striking except for an exceptionally kind expression.

Perhaps the most distinctive feature was how neatly trimmed the man's beard was, though his head was completely bald.

But even such an unremarkable old man caused every cell in Charles's body to send out danger signals.

This old man was definitely a strong individual—at the very least, far stronger than Charles was now, and not by just a little.

"Young man, I saw a falling star yesterday. Was that related to you?"

I'm screwed! I just transmigrated and already got noticed by a powerhouse from this world—what do I do? Need help ASAP, it's urgent!
