Chapter 20 - Sir, You Need To Be Careful!

"What do you mean? He died?" Noah asked, growing more confused.

"No, sir. However, when our team reached the location you provided, that individual was already gone. It appears that someone disclosed their failure. But rest assured, sir, I will make sure we locate him."

Noah now realizes why the system hasn't informed him about his revenge on Ryan White; they haven't been successful yet.

"Sir, please try not to worry too much about Ryan White. He will get his punishment soon." Edgar's voice echoed warmly from the other end as if he deeply understood Noah's distress.

Noah could only say, "I believe you, Edgar!"

"But sir, please be careful; you're far from my reach. I hope you'll move to the capital soon," Edgar said calmly, though Noah could still sense distress in his tone.

Noah also began to feel concerned about his system because the operation to execute his choices was not as fast as he had anticipated.

'Was this connected to the Control Room? That's why Edgar urged me to move to the capital sooner?' This thought really sparked his curiosity, and his mind felt an intense itch to travel there soon!

"I'll finish up quickly here before going there, Edgar. I appreciate your warning. My bodyguard is quite capable, I'll be alright..." Noah confidently said.

He has Bodyguard Level 9, which is enough to match anyone who comes after him.

"Jason Sullivan? Well, he is certainly capable, sir. However, he cannot protect you alone if your father's enemy locates you."

Noah was shocked to learn that Edgar already knew about Jason Sullivan. It appears his system truly connects to Edgar—he knows everything.

"Sir, are you still there?" Edgar's voice jolted Noah from his thoughts.

"Yes, I'm here..." Noah took a moment to clear his throat. "I think it's time for me to look for a new place to stay, Edgar. Diana and William know who I am, and I'm worried they could inform my father's enemy about my location here.

"Understood, sir. Tomorrow, someone will be waiting for you in the lobby. His name is Matthew Graham, one of your father's assistants. He will also ensure your safety and handle all your needs, including your new accommodations there..."

"Thank you, Edgar."

"Sir, please take care of yourself..."

"I will!" Noah ended the call.

Soon after he ended the call with Edgar, a smile lingered on Noah's face as he got lost in his thoughts.

He understood that his massive inheritance brought wealth into his life and, inevitably, the burden of his father's enemies.

It's amusing how he envisioned a beautiful and smooth future for his life, yet it didn't unfold that way.

...

The next morning.

Noah woke up to the gentle buzz of his phone vibrating on the nightstand.

When he glanced at the screen, he was surprised to see that his name had already been saved in his contacts: "Matthew Graham."

"Morning!" he greeted him with his hoarse voice as he got out of bed.

"Good morning, Mr. Morgan. I apologize if I disturbed your sleep." A deep, husky voice came from the other end. "Sir, allow me to introduce myself: I'm Matthew. I believe Edgar has mentioned me to you?"

"It's all good! Thanks to you, I woke up just in time." Noah took a moment to sip some warm water before continuing. "Yes, I'm already aware. Edgar told me about you last night. Where are you now?"

"Sir, I'm in the lobby..." Matthew replied.

After telling Matthew to wait, Noah quickly got ready. He didn't take much time; he packed everything into a suitcase and stored it in his storage space.

He left his presidential suite a moment later, only bringing one small new suitcase.

As Noah was about to enter the elevator, his phone unexpectedly rang. He was taken aback when he saw Julia Hart's name on his phone's display.

This woman rarely calls him. She only reaches out when she needs something or wants to take advantage of him. However, after that incident, she texts and calls him almost daily, and somehow, he is still surprised when she calls.

'What does she want this time?'

Noah's curiosity bubbled up, and he felt eager to discover what was happening on her side after knowing that Ryan's plan had not gone as expected.

He entered the elevator and answered the call. Still, Julia's impatient voice came through on the other end before he could say anything.

"My goodness, Noah Morgan, you are so cruel and heartless to me. How can you ignore all my text messages? You didn't reply to every single one of them!" Her voice trembled with frustration, nearly giving way to tears.

'Oh, for God's sake! This girl must be acting! And she was awful at it,' he thought, laughing inwardly. If this had happened a few days ago, he might have believed her, but now? He is now too smart to be fooled by something like this.

Noah remained silent, rubbing his eyebrow as he listened to her yapping.

"Do you genuinely want to witness the end of my career?" Her voice trembled slightly. He thought she might be crying, but he chose to ignore her.

"Noah, I need your help," she pleaded. "I know you still care about me. I'll wait at my house to make a video to counter the rumors. Can you please say something, huh!?"

Ding!

The elevator's opening chimed, prompting Julia to speak once more. "Where are you? Why do I hear an elevator? Noah?"

"Are you done talking to me?" Noah finally responds, his tone sounding chilly.

"Oh my God, Noah, what happened to you? Why have you changed like this? Huh!?"

Noah let out a deep sigh.

"I don't know how to answer your many questions, Julia. But one thing I'm sure about is that I can't help you. Why? You know the answer."

"What do you want from me, Noah? Should I kneel before you and make love passionately to you? I will. If you ask for it, I will," Julia's voice lifted slightly, catching Noah off guard with her words.

'What the hell, this girl? How could she say that?' He curses.

"I'll do anything you want, Noah! ANYTHING!" she said through her tears.

Noah notices Jason raising his hand to signal his position, and at the same time, he hears Julia crying from the other end.

"I'm sorry, I can't!" Noah ended the call and blocked her number.

This is the final time he will answer her calls or respond to her texts. He no longer wished to be connected with her.
