Turning in a particular direction, he noticed a figure fleeing the battlefield. The figure was similarly dressed in black robes, so Kranos immediately realized they belonged to the same faction.
Normally, when one's contracted summoned beast is killed, the cultivator with the summoning element would suffer a backlash.
Because of this, despite hiding, when Kranos killed the lady's summoned beast, the backlash immediately caused her to become unstable and reveal her location.
