A moment later, Madison pulled back and said, "What's that slut still doing here? Aren't you done with her yet?"
He turned and saw that Miranda was walking out into the white room, a look of curiosity on her face, dressed in her satin camisole and shorts, holding her stuffed rabbit. There was something fresh and innocent about the way she was gawking at his wall of snapshot spheres while hugging her bunny.
Hearing Madison, Miranda turned and smiled at her, then with a hand up close to her chest, gave a little hesitant wave.
Trying to prevent a cat fight, he said, "Well, it turns out she's different from what I expected."
Miranda walked over and held out her hand. "Madison, it's a pleasure to meet you. And I have to say, I've always been a little jealous of you."
"What? Jealous? Why?" asked Madison, now confused by Miranda's friendly, non-bitchy response.
