"Have you thought about my offer" he said, it brought me ack to my senses, i had big dreams when i came here, i am not sure how life took a turn. Well this must have taken a big blow on you, as i was talking about the plan how i would get to my success, well this is it.. I guess i did not have every think in control, i was so obsessed on not being like my sisters that i did not see the ditch that was ahead of me. "Yes, do i have a choice?" i said knowing very well that i was selling my soul to the devil and maybe there is no turning back and i did brought this upon myself. i let out a sarcastic laugh, this was not for mocking him rather mocking myself.
POV, Few Months Before
Work was going great and i was finally catching up, but still i needed to know how i would reach my goals. sitting on my desk Jane, one of my colleges walked by, "Hey Lara, we are having a small out doors party do you want to join" she asked and since i was new here and i needed to make friend i did end up taking on the offered. "Yah sure" i said thinking i too need some time off from the obsession. Later that day Jane came and helped me get ready even with the cloths i need to put on. i did not think took much about it at first. As soon as we arrived to the venue i kinder understood as to why she picked the outfit. it was a crimson dress, my favorite colour, it always made me look like an Aphrodite, commenting on how beautiful i was and how i would charm everyone there. when we got to the party we were given mask at the door, thats when jane turned and said "Some times very influential people come to these parties and they do not want to be recognized" she did not need to say more before i took the mask and went in. This was the first time being in a room that smelled money, even with masks you could tell these people were not ordinary people so i asked jane, "What is this" her answer was short but carefree, "I have seen you and i know you want more, you can thank me later but for now... well make the most out of this" she gave me a wink before signaling me to turn back, "See that table, those are the most wealthiest people here, if you do manage to secure one of them, trust me, you will be set for life" i turned back and surveyed the table but that did not caught my eye, rather the man who sat behind that table. He looked gentle, yet manly. I could not tell who he was due to the mask but even from a far his aura was felt. just as i was still checking him, our eyes locked, he hard these deep dark brown eyes that were so sharp they could tear a soul from a far. I was just for a second but i felt drown but before i could sink into them he looked away as if he did not see that, which made me doubt if what i saw was real or not. "Take this", Jane handed me a drink. I looked at the drink for a while, I knew better than to drink it but what did i expect after coming here, this was a part and drinks were going to be there. I cant say that i am an alcoholic but i know how i get around alcohol and for a while now i have maintained a sobriety life but saying no would not be right, i mean i already accepted to come here so might as well just take one drink, i mean whats the worst that could happen i thought, i thought to myself. After that i barely saw jane, its as if i had brought myself there. I paced around trying to find her and thats when i heard a deep voice yet smooth say something so i turned around. There he was, i could not believe my eyes, he looked even more handsome up close. Seeing that i was lost in the moment so he spoke again, "Are you her alone" "Yes" i let out a small whisper barely unheard, "I see" he spoke one more time and thats when i realised what i had just said so i rephrased what i had just say, "Well, what i meant to say is that i am here with a friend but i think i just lost her, i am Lara" i said putting my had forward. he looked at my hand for a few seconds before shaking it "well its nice meeting you Lara, William" he said, his voice firm and strong. "With the way you carry yourself i believe this must be the first time here" his eyes fixed dead on mine without blinking, he had this look that can scare you but also warm and gentle. "Is it that obvious" i said while smiling, "Well its my second time being here too, well not intentionally, i came to pic someone" he paused for a while "My sister" i raised my eyebrows in acknowledgment that i understand what he meant. I was not sure if its the drinks that i had but he looked very alluring, nut something inside of me said to stay away from him. He did not say much afterward, there was this awkward silence between us before jane came in and saved the day. She had a drink with her which she gave me and without thinking i finished it with one round. When he saw her he just turned around and left. "How did you get him to speak to you, wait do you even know who he is....? jane asked. She did not even get the chance to finish what she was saying when i started feeling weird, the room seemed way more hotter than it was initially. that was the last think i remembered before waking up naked in an empty room.
