AT THE SAME TIME
SELENE'S POINT OF VIEW:
We didn't waste time. Blankets were layered, warm herbal teas brewed, nesting materials fluffed, and dragged into the main room. The air was thick with clove, lavender, and something faintly sweet, meant to calm, meant to ground. We dimmed the lights and tucked Xavier into the center of it all, surrounded by comfort and his three very protective alphas. Michael placed a cooling cloth over Xavier's forehead. Jaxon fluffed a pillow unnecessarily for the third time.
Adrian hovered like a storm cloud in the shape of a man, tense, quiet, but his eyes glued to Xavier.
"Tea." I said, handing a steaming mug to Adrian. "He won't drink it unless you do the soft eye thing."
He blinked, but obeyed. Xavier curled tighter into the mess of fabrics, his hand gently resting over the curve of his belly. He was quiet for a few moments, eyes blinking slowly, lips parted like he was trying to figure out what he was feeling.
"Do you feel warm?" I asked.
