"...."

I… expected many things about my trait.

I thought it could be something related to fire, something related to darkness, a monster transformation or even something related to mind and will.

But… WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?

Abyssal Soul? Abyssal Will? Soul essence? Soul fragments? Devouring the real soul's fragments?

And what were all these supporting talents?! Were they even real? Would I need real souls to do these things?

*Crack!*

Suddenly, the mirror on my hand —just like the former one— turned into dust, leaving all of us confused about what we should do next.

"Cough." Master Kai suddenly broke the silence and said to everyone around us: "I think you should now go and mind your business, because as you can see, these things are supposed to be secrets, unless you want to help him using your soul."

"Oh right. I remembered that I have to feed my team."

"Sorry, I was just curious."

"I have to see my gifts too…"

"But I didn't see anything… I was late."

Everyone started finding a far place to sit, leaving me and my team alone.

Deciding to try something, I pulled out an aura core from my ring.

Inside it, there was a tree soul that was standing there as if in a daze.

I couldn't help but grin, because I didn't use my aura at all, and despite that, I was able to see it clearly! and that way, I could use another type of aura on my eyes while fighting.

Then I closed my eyes, and surprisingly, I could sense not only the tree but everyone's soul — including my own.

Opening my eyes, I tried to move my soul. Instinctively I knew how to control it perfectly as if I did it for my whole life without enhancing it.

*TakTakTak*

My soul left my body and took 3 steps forward, leaving my range completely.

"Did-did your soul change?" Aurelia asked nervously.

I shifted my gaze towards her, making her flinch slightly.

"Shit, I feel like my head may explode." I said as I started rubbing my head.

I didn't look at Aurelia using only my eyes but also my soul's eyes.

Looking at my body and my soul at the same time, I started analysing myself.

In front of the soul sat a boy with long brown hair and tired grey eyes, he was wearing black Kimono that was fixing itself of the cuts on it and black straw hat, his weak nervous expression was gone and replaced with a gaze that held his determination and confidence.

In front of the body, stood an inky black soul that took the shape of a boy that looked as if he was born from the depths of the dark abyss, above his head was a black halo floating with a perfect balance and each finger of his hand ended with a dark sharp claw.

The only parts of him that weren't completely black were his eyes, because inside of them, there was a small, dark blue dot that was glowing slightly in each eye.

Both the body and the soul were connected with thin black threads as if cutting them would end the connection.

My body moved its right hand forward, and my soul moved its left hand.

Once they touched, the soul hand just entered the body as if it always wanted to return.

Finally, I returned it inside the body, becoming myself completely again.

I let out a breath and started thinking about that experience.

It was too strange, the feeling of having 2 physical and spectral bodies that were connected and separated at the same time.

My brain could barely process all that, but wait, was my brain really responsible for that?

After all, my soul didn't have a brain.

Then what was really responsible for that? My conscious, memories, feelings, emotions and even my will — was my brain really what held all that?

Shaking my head, I looked at the core and decided to try my abyssal pocket.

Instinctively, I started trying to pull the core inside it, but it didn't even shake.

'Come on!'

Giving up on having secret storage, I used my spectral hand to take the soul out of the core.

*Crack!*

The core suddenly cracked, but I ignored it and focused on the soul before it could disappear.

Suddenly, the tree soul in my hand started entering my soul instead of disappearing until it was stored inside me.

'Perfect! Now let's look at it.'

The next moment, I entered my consciousness into the abyssal pocket excitedly.

It's not everyday that I look inside my soul after all.

After a moment, I opened my "eyes", and I was shocked by what I "saw".

All around me was a vast flat land, its color was something between black, grey and blue.

Above me there was only a black sky without any source of light — yet, I could see everything clearly.

The only thing that was here except me was a big brown tree with 2 legs and 2 sharp claws. That same monster who gave me nightmares when I entered this place was now standing there submissively, staring at with hollow eyes and indifferent expression.

In this situation, only one thought appeared in my mind.

'How is all that exists inside of me?!'

It looked like a completely different world, yet, all that was just a pocket inside my soul?

My gaze suddenly landed on the tree, feeling curious, I started speaking with it.

"Hey, can you understand me?"

"..."

"Turn around."

"..."

"What's your name?"

"..."

"I order you to turn around!"

"..."

Nothing worked.

All it did was following me with its gaze.

"Tsk." I clicked my tongue and returned my conscious.

I wasn't planning to devour the soul, not until I read that Grimoire first.

Opening my real eyes, I pressed on my third gift.

Instantly, a silver Grimoire appeared in my hand.

'Let's hope that it contains enough information to understand this.'

Opening the first page, I started reading carefully.
