Chapter 38 - Titans Are Forged

Trinity had watch the first challenge closely. They would have to track through mud that seemed as deep as the tallest men. The wolves seemed to just dive in. Ending up sucking up mouthfuls of mud. Just to choke and sputter pitifully. Trying to get the thick substance from their mouth and nose.

It made her think that just jumping in was the wrong choice. They should try to slide across the top most later.

Stepping up to the mud pit that was far less wet, she lay on her stomach, then reached down only to find various branches beneath her. With minimal effort. She used the Branch as anchers to propell herself forward. Effortlessly. Crossing the three meter long mud pit.

Once on the other side, she grinned widely at everyone on the other side. "Spread your weight out. Get on your stomach. Don't step straight down. " She instructed everyone. "Find the branches pull yourself forward." She called as everyone started to make their way.

Even though she was tired Trinity felt a sense of invigoration. Even though she knew this would be hard. She found herself having fun.

As they last person crawled through. They had to run a few yards to the next task. They would be crawling again. Only this time, it was under barbwire at various lows and highs. She noticed sharp rocks littered all over the ground.

Looking at the group behind her, that all seemed to hang back waiting for her next words. She felt a little overwhelming by their silent confidence in her.

"Umm. . . Mona your the smallest. Crawl through slowly brush the rocks out of the way."

Mona smiled, before tieing her blond hair back into a low ponytail.

Trinity took off her sweater handing it to Mona. "Use it to move the rocks, so you don't hurt yourself." Then she made the slow crawl to the other side.

Ryan was shocked by Trinitys take charge attitude. She never really took the lead. Always opting to listen to other people's leadership.

He watched as she stood straighter, showing everyone the confidence that normally only her close friends ever got to see.

Thomas knew he shouldn't stay near the last group exclusively, but they where the most impressivem. Trinity was impressive. Most didn't worry about team work till later in the course. But she was breezing through a course that most felt was uncermountable.

Deciding that this was worth watch he sent a mental message to her father. Telling him he would want to see Trinity in the course. While all so linking a few third stages to come and keep eyes on the parts of the course he wasn't watching.

Mona heaved a heavy breath as she made it to the other side. Giving Trinity a thumps up. The path was clear.

"Let do this one by one in a line." Trinity said looking at the path with some level of skepticism.

Johnny thought he should take the lead. Making his way through the few people, he was quick to be the next person to go through.

Trinity was shocked that Jess's brother had decided to hang back with them. When he could be in the lead with everyone else. He gave her a polite smile before he started crawling through.

Johnny was making his way with relative ease till the silver laced barb wire lowered so much. That the sharp prongs kept graving his skin. He couldn't help but scream out on pain.

"Stop! Don't move. Just stay still and flat." Trinity called once she heard his screams.

Thinking about the low spots gave her an idea. She crawled under the wire. Leaving a trail of sweat and mud behind her. Her arms scream, and shook with fatigue the furth she went. Once she reached johnny. She took off his shoes. Placing them on her hands. She slid onto his back. Using his shoes as gloves to hold up the wire.

She felt as if, she lost her mind the moment she thought of her idea. Her face was mere inches away from the silver barbed wire. As if she breathed too deeply, it would poke her straight through the eye.

"I need you to crawl, slowly left leg first."Trinity try to keep all the anxiety out of her voice. But she was feeling a large sense of trepidation. Hoping this wasn't a bad idea.

"Okay, left leg first." Doing is told. Johnny was quick to follow her instructions. Moving slowly, unsure if she would be able to keep up. The last thing he wanted was to impale her on the silver wire. While he remains safe beneath her. He would feel like an ultimate coward.

Boris had arrived at the training field shortly after receiving the message from Thomas. His mind was reeling with all the possibilities. How Trinity could be possibly harmed. If she was in trouble. He tried texting her quite a few times throughout the day. But he hadn't got any response. He didn't expect to, but it helped you would. He arrived as Trinity was using a pair of shoes to hold the wire up, as a young pup crawled with her on his back.

He found the site to be rather confusing. He had never seen anyone tackle this course in this way. Most just relied on their brute strength. Stomach all injuries, while getting to the other side.

"Was this Johnny's idea?"Boris asked Thomas who was so engrossed in the course, that he didn't even pay him the proper respect.

Thomas's lip lifted in a slight smile. He looked at boris, ready to take in his reaction when he found out his daughter was exceptional. "This is all your pup." He did wonder, if Boris had giving her any pointers. But the way she was tackling the course, it wasn't how any wolf would do it. So he didn't even bother with his curiosity.

Boris had a hard time believing Thomas he wasn't sure if he was simply flattering him, or telling the truth. But he decided to patiently wait and watch. Curious, with how this would turn out. Plus if he was nearby, and anything went wrong. He can get to his daughter instantly.

Trinity breed the desired relief is she made it to the other side. Quick to check out Johnny's back. Making sure the cuts weren't too deep. Luckily, they had been so minor that they'd healed. Closing up the skin and just leaving some unpleasing red marks.

"Your clever." Johnny smiled down at Trinity. Wrapping an arm around her shoulder he pulled her in for a quick hug. Appreciating her quick thinking. He was not eager to feel the pain of silver burning his skin.

She smiled up at Jess's brother, before focusing back on the task. "What's going in pairs of two. Larger one on the bottom, smaller person at the top. Use the shoes to hold the barbed wire up. Nice and slow." Trinity called out loudly for them to hear. As she had taken her path with Johnny she notice pieces of skin and blood caught in the barbed wire. Knowing that everyone who would gone before them. Decided to just muscle through this part. Either uncaring or crazy. Whatever it was, it seemed like people just let themselves be mutilated instead of thinking.

It took roughly 40 minutes for everyone to cross. A few injuries, but nothing serious a few scrapes.

Once everyone had crossed. Trinity decided it was best to just take a break. Everyone sat down and caught their breath. Once it seemed like everyone was refreshed enough, she led them to the next part. They all still had to jog for about half a kilometer before they reach the next part of the course.

Brian Hill more than a little intimidated by the next task. There was a long tube that was filled with freezing cold water. The tube was painted black. Given the strong indication that once you were in the water you wouldn't be able to see anything.

At this point just felt like it was best to just give up. Up until now everything else seemed doable. But they could drowned easily with this task. And no one would notice.

"We could just call it!" Mona was the first to speak up. Feeling like this task was too much.

"No this is fine. We just need to get a bit creative. Everyone take off your sweaters."instructed the others to rip the sweaters into strips would be able to tie it into one very long rope.

"Johnny." Trinity called him over, while getting on top of the enclosed to. "Is your hearing still good underwater?" She asked as a smile grew on her lips. Tapping on the tube pointedly.

Johnny smiled understanding what she wanted. Okay this is going to be hard. The water is cold. Everyone's going to get in the water. Stay close to each other. The only way you're going to keep warm. You need to acclimate to the water first step.

It took some time and convincing but everyone eventually got in the opening of the tube. Crammed together like sardines. But it was for the best. They would be able to conserve body heat this way.

"Does anyone a really poor swimmer?" Trinity asked, hoping that people just offer up that kind of information.
