"What? Evolve, what does it mean, like I know what evolution is but like I get to do it too??" I open and look at my stats and see that my stamina, health, and dexterity had increased a good bit while my other stats all increased within five to eight points apiece. * Yes, all beings here in this world are able to evolve, many hold off until certain points in life due to coming-of-age rituals such as the snake tribes and beast kingdom. The humans although do evolve, it is a bit different, they tend to choose a craft and develop or purchase skills towards that craft, but almost anything can be a craft, a priest, a knight, a seamstress. * Oh, okay that's actually quite different than what I assumed. I Walk towards my trampled rose bush and crouch onto the ground monitoring the damage. I frown as I think about the work I had put into doing it.
"Okay, let's try this again." This time I don't activate that damn skill that almost cost me my life. I simply listen to what my mind and imagination say and without closing my eyes, I rebuild the bush. I watch again as the bush grows, this time I don't have to pull out the branches or stems, I let it grow as it pleases and as my imagination pictures it. It grows taller and taller eventually outgrowing me. This time I feel the sweat dripping from not just my hands and arms but my full body, it's like the more I put into the flowers, the more I exert myself. Oh, wait duh, my power relies on my stamina. I chuckle a little to myself and push a bit harder to try and hurry the process along. After branching out over head and a few shoots coming out of the ground and bonding with rest, the rose bush is finally complete.
I stand back and wipe the sweat off me, it smells extremely sweet, must be another perk of my plantlike body. I'm not complaining, I wonder if I can change it, or my body composition? Can I grow extra arms? Maybe even legs? Okay I'll make note of this and look for skills like this later. I look back at the bush that I made in the shape of the recently…. Um, murdered Doliage, I believe murdered is the right word. It looked beautiful in the patch of the forest surrounded by giant trees, almost like a sanctuary. I was extremely tired, so I slowly walked over to the patch of sunlight and sat down on the ground laying in the sun. It literally felt like instant relief when I hit the sun. I laid down and started talking to system. "Are you able to see my evolution options, if so, what are they like?" I watched as weird birds flew though the skies in a V shape, almost reminding me of home, until I saw them rip something apart in the skies. I honestly think I should stop comparing everything here to back home.
*You currently have 3 evolution options, a Chervona, a Ginsengian, or a Cicutian. There is no info on any of these evolution lines or what they are. I assume that this is due to you being a completely new species. You may want to contact Lady Hebenami before continuing on your evolution process. * That is a helpful thought, but it is sad that I don't know anything about my evolutions, what if I become something terribly ugly, or worse. I don't know what's worse than being ugly, but still, I know that there is always something worse. "I'm not sure if I always want to have to rely on her, it's unlike me and it also means that every time I get ready to evolve, I'd have to contact her, and what if she misleads me towards a certain evolution process, I don't want to say she will, but I also don't know if she wouldn't. How long would it take me to evolve, does it say anything about that process?"
I keep watching the birds in the sky, I think they are tearing apart one of their own, from far away they look the same, so I really couldn't tell, but it was decent entertainment. While watching the birds I heard some rustling and saw a tiny pink head pop out of one of the roses I had just made. It seems the little pink spider survived the attack of the doliage. I rose to my feet and walked towards the tiny being. * It seems like each evolution will take around two days which will leave you in a very vulnerable state. * Interesting, very interesting. As I walk closer the spider turns and faces me. I see now that it's more spider like, not exactly a spider. It had a lower half of a spider with six legs, but it also had an upper body like torso with two arms that ended in sharp blue hued points much like its legs. In my old life I had a terrible fear of spiders and snakes, but this one here drew my attention. As I walked closer, I see the mandibles on the creature start to move and it started waving its arms around wildly.
"What kind of creature is this and is it trying to communicate with me." I look and see the spider creature staring at me and turning its head sideways, almost in a confused way. * This is an evolution to your common forest spider, based off its coloration's I'd say it's an Oonopsid. While tiny they are extremely intelligent and some evolutions allow them to become giant variations of themselves but are usually hunted down before that stage and are destroyed or waged war upon reaching giant adulthood. * I nod my head while listening to System and am in awe at the chance to know a giant spider. That'd be really terrifying though. "Open skill book!" The skill book opens up and I automatically ask for it to open the skill web and I look for the group of skills I saw earlier when I first opened the book. "Ah! There it is!" I click on the beast skills and watch as it opens. I have 60 skill points right now. Luckily the skill I'm looking for only happens to cost 10 points and that will still leave me with 50 skill points. I click on the skill and watch it turn green as the actual system voice announces my purchase. It wasn't hard to find because for some reason it had a kind of gold sheen to it unlike the other skills. I wonder if it's one of those god skills we purchased earlier? Probably.
Purchased skill Beast Communication
Immediately, the chittering noises the spider were making became words. "Yeah, Five was only looking for something to eat when five stumbled upon the sleeping doliage. How was Five supposed to know the flowers around the doliage were not for eating. Five was really hungry, it had been days. And they were sooooo good, but now Five knows, don't eat the flowers beside a Doliage." I listen very intently to the tiny spider as it keeps roaming around the plant structure, occasionally I see a deep blue almost black liquid pool inside its mouth until it spits it out onto the ground causing it to steam and sizzle. "Wait, wait, who is five? Are you five? Is your name Five, that's a terrible name, you were named after a number." The spider momentarily stops chittering and looks at me with wide eyes before nodding its head furiously and starts talking really fast again. " I know right, I asked my parents what my name was, and they said Five, so I claim to be five but it's kind of unfair because my older sister is One and my other sister is Two but how come I'm Five? Do you know how many other Five's there are in my family! 16. I know right that's not actually that many, but the name Five has a bad track record. 12 of us are dead already, but all of the Ones are still alive, Five means that its not Fives' fault Five was born fifth in the sixteenth batch!"
I quickly drown out the tiny spider as I kind of regret my purchase of understanding the beasts and creatures. It's not only Five, but more like I hear everything in the forest. There's something yelling for help in the very far distance. I hear the birds above me laughing as one of the others screams for help also. I hear something chattering in the trees about me killing the doliage and how it was like something it had never seen before even though it's only been alive for a few seasons but still. I knew the forest wasn't quiet, but I thought that it would be less chatter and more like just regular animal noises. Seems I was wrong. "Are they always this chattery, all the animals, especially the spiders?" System responds almost immediately * No, the usual animals yes, but spiders aren't chatty animals, they are more solitary creatures usually only communicating with others in their nest. Theres a great chance that this one was kicked out of their nest due to it being....different. * I instantly saddened a bit at System's last tidbit of information.
"So, what I'm trying to say is that I'm thankful for you saving Five and now Five will be off to search for food again because Five is really hungry." I feel like this was the perfect opportunity to ask and verify if what I was told is true. "Can't you just go back home and be fed from there with your other siblings." I saw Five stop moving and their shoulders drop before they turned around and answered me. "Oh, no, um, Five is on their own right now. But Five can go back later when Five is ready as long as Five is strong enough and can act like a regular spider. Five's parents would be glad to have Five back, well Fives' dad. Fives' mom is a bit more extreme, she says Five's not properly fit to be hers or apart of her family, and that Five can't come back until she deems Five is ready. Honestly though Five is fine, yeah it's sad not being home with them and seeing Fives' few thousand siblings, but Five's been doing well on my own and have only almost died a few times." I didn't ask but I do wonder why Five was kicked out from their home, seems like it was their mother, less so like their father. "Well If it's fine with you, I can help you collect some of the flowers that you need to eat if you would like to help guard me when I start to evolve?" I promise I saw Fives eyes glimmer before they started nodding their head extremely fast. "Okay then, what kind of flowers do you eat, is it just flowers or does it matter?" five jumps from the flower statue of the doliage and lands on my shoulder. "Oh it doesn't matter, Five can eat almost anything, just not everything is good for Five to eat. Five prefers small animals with short hair and berries and flowers and tree nuts, sometime a small round stone. Five loves small round stones." I can't help but laugh at the tiny spider, small stones I guess could be delicious, but maybe just for spiders. * The poison mixture in Oonopsid Spiders is extremely acidic and able to dissolve near everything it comes in contact with. That would explain Five's affinity with smooth stones, but it is unheard of the love for stones among their kind. * Every time Five speaks and says something about itself, System contradicts it with the facts that are known about its species. It seems more and more apparent as to why Five of the sixteenth squadron is different, I snicker a bit at my joke about Five.
