.................................................................................
Staring at the immense figure of the Bull of Heaven, Su Mo fell silent for a moment, his thoughts turning.
"…If it's a bull… then maybe I should bring out a boar." He murmured quietly and slowly raised his left hand.
At that moment, the magical energy in his body, far surpassing even leylines, erupted forth in full force. An incomparable aura surged into the air, drawing every eye toward him. Up until now, most believed Su Mo was merely an exceptional martial artist from this era. But now, they finally saw—this man named Su Mo was far deeper than he let on.
His earlier displays of swordsmanship… were just the tip of the iceberg. A divine halo materialized behind him. Su Mo had chosen to activate the Authority of Verethragna.
As the divine power took hold, the sacred glow that only gods and buddhas possessed burst forth behind him. Within that radiant light, inscriptions in ancient Persian script began to shine, along with unfathomable sigils—clear signs of divine manifestation.
This was the materialization of Verethragna's godhood.
"If I am the one whose fangs pierce all, then by my will, bring forth destruction!"
With a brief chant, the ground beneath their feet transformed into a swamp of pitch-black tar. Then, from the dark mire, a colossal wild boar over twenty meters tall rose into the sky. It was one of Verethragna's sacred avatars—his [Boar Form] from the Authority of the War God of The East.
In the past, the boar's summoning chant would've been: "Obey the words of my master and bring ruin upon the enemy." Back then, Verethragna's every invocation emphasized his role as a divine warrior who served the sun god Mithra—a loyal guardian of light. But ever since Su Mo defeated Perseus and claimed Mithra's authority for himself, the divine words had naturally changed.
The godhood of Mithra and Verethragna, once separate, had merged into one through Su Mo. Their powers now reinforced each other. And so the incantation no longer highlighted some distant "master," but Su Mo himself—who now held the combined divinity of both gods. Because Su Mo… was the guardian of light—and the light itself.
He was the "master."
"GEYAAAA——!!!"
The black boar let out a deafening roar, its frenzied red eyes locking onto the massive Bull of Heaven. Its hooves scraped at the ground furiously.
Then, with Su Mo's calm command—
BOOM—!
The divine boar launched forward at supersonic speed, thundering across the battlefield straight toward the Bull of Heaven. Beast against beast. God against god. The clash… was imminent.
The divine beast—the black wild boar—was an exceptional existence, its combat strength far beyond that of most lesser deities. In terms of sheer impact power, it could even clash with god-kings. So, when faced with the Bull of Heaven, the wild boar radiated pure, unrestrained battle intent. Not an ounce of fear could be seen in its eyes.
BOOM—!
The wild boar, specialized in charging force, slammed head-on into the Bull of Heaven and sent it tumbling. Though the strike didn't deal critical damage, it was enough to ignite the tempers of both beasts. And thus began a furious melee in the middle of the harbor.
The ground trembled and cracked. Shockwaves blasted apart shipping containers and ravaged the coastline. Even the surrounding area was left in ruins by nothing more than the aftershocks of their battle.
Fortunately, this was an industrial port far from residential zones. Had it been a populated district, there would've been no way to conceal the presence of these divine beasts.
Everyone present was left utterly speechless.
It was like a scene pulled straight from ancient mythology, unfolding before their eyes. Masters and Servants alike were struck by awe and disbelief. In that moment, it felt as though they'd been transported back to the age of gods—an era when divinity still walked among mankind.
The raging divine beasts were so close. Their divine pressure was so overwhelming. It was easy to understand why ancient humans had once offered their unwavering faith to beings like this.
And above, in the sky—
The most shocked of all was none other than Ishtar. She simply couldn't believe it. The man named Su Mo had actually summoned a divine beast to rival her own Bull of Heaven. A divine beast with such brute power.
"You… Are you a god?!" Ishtar's instincts screamed the truth. That radiant divine glow Su Mo had displayed moments ago—it belonged to a deity.
"You descended into the mortal world not by possessing a Servant… but in a human body?!" She stared at Su Mo in utter disbelief.
"How did you do it?" But Su Mo wasn't surprised by her shock.
After all, the powers granted to a Campione—the Godslayer—contained fragments of the gods they'd slain. Every time he invoked a divine Authority, he essentially became a vessel for that god's power. In a world without Godslayers, someone wielding such might was bound to be mistaken for a god. But Su Mo had no intention of clearing up her misunderstanding.
First, because explaining would be a pain.
Second—and more importantly—
"…Did you forget something?" Su Mo's lips curled into a smile that sent chills down Ishtar's spine.
"We're still in the middle of a fight… and if I remember correctly, I said I was going to beat the crap out of you."
Before she could react, Su Mo gently bent his knees—and leapt.
The wild boar avatar didn't just possess overwhelming charge power—it also granted its master that same monstrous level of acceleration. The kind of speed that could leap from Earth to the Moon in seconds.
In the blink of an eye, Su Mo appeared behind the goddess. All while still holding Okita Souji in his left arm. Yes—the classic bridal carry sneak attack! With his right hand now free, he aimed at a very particular part of Ishtar's divine anatomy…
…and brought it down with a clean, resounding smack.
"Spoiled brats deserve to be spanked!"
SLAP!
The crisp sound echoed across the entire harbor. Everyone froze. What did they just witness? This man… had just spanked the goddess?! It sounded incredibly satisfying.
But also…
Was this guy insane?! Was he not afraid she'd chase him to the ends of the world for revenge? Above, in the sky, the stunned Ishtar didn't react with rage at first, as everyone expected. Instead, she stood there blankly for a few long seconds. Did that just happen? Someone… hit her? And not just anywhere—her butt?!
This had never happened before in her entire divine existence. Her brain stalled as if a wire had been severed. After a long pause, she finally realized what had just occurred and instinctively covered her backside.
Her eyes turned red, moisture gathering in the corners. Someone had dared to violate the dignity of a goddess in such a way?!
—Even her own father had never dared to hit her like that!
"HOW DARE YOU! YOU DARE—YOU DARE—YOU DAAAARE!!"
"SU MO—YOU'RE DEAD!!!"
Ishtar was furious.
The name "Su Mo" was now etched into her very bones. She swore she'd grind him to dust! Her divine weapon Maanna, the floating boat beneath her, trembled with power as her fury surged.
But before she could unleash anything—
SLAP!
Another smack rang out, sharp and clear. Along with the burning pain came a voice full of mockery. "Is this what they call blind rage? Tsk, tsk…" Ishtar's mind snapped. She swore, she vowed, that she would tear Su Mo apart limb by limb… and then craft a life-sized doll in his image to stomp on every single day! And finally, toss what was left into the deepest pits of the Underworld. For ten thousand years.
No—a hundred thousand.
Driven to madness, Ishtar poured all her power into a single command.
"Crush him—Bull of Heaven!"
With the goddess's words as the trigger, the Bull of Heaven let out a thunderous roar and seemed to grow even more powerful. Its combat strength surged to terrifying new heights. Even the mighty wild boar found itself momentarily overwhelmed. But Su Mo remained unfazed.
"Bearer of sharp fangs—tear it apart in a single strike!"
He followed up with an additional incantation. With his chant complete, the divine wild boar was engulfed in pale blue flames. Its attack power skyrocketed. Once more, it clashed violently with the Bull of Heaven, the shockwaves rocking the entire battlefield.
"W-What?!" Ishtar gasped. Even after amplifying the Bull's strength, it still couldn't gain the upper hand? Just as that thought passed through her mind—
SLAP!
A third time. The same sound. The same humiliation. She couldn't take it anymore. Forget the divine beast. It was officially useless. But Ishtar was the goddess most favored by the heavens—she had more than just this.
"Maanna!"
Her voice echoed with divine rage as she called upon the floating vessel beneath her feet… her final trump card. The divine sky vessel Maanna responded to the call, unfolding a dimensional gate. From within the shimmering portal, an image of the cosmos could be seen—specifically, a starmap near Venus.
The goddess, burning with rage, paid no heed to consequence. She was about to unleash the same devastating attack that once shattered a sacred mountain even the gods revered.
But just as she prepared to strike, she felt interference from her Master.
"You damn fool, Tohsaka! Don't you dare stop me!" Ishtar screamed.
With her Magic Resistance ranked at A, a mere Command Seal shouldn't have had any effect on her. Yet, her roar didn't break the seal's compulsion. It seemed some higher force was at work, something she could not resist. Realizing she could no longer maintain her presence in this world, the furious goddess cast a venomous glare at Su Mo.
"Your life belongs to me now. Don't think this means you've won!" With that parting threat, the enraged goddess dissolved into golden particles and vanished with the rippling of space.
